It is Hispanic Heritage Month! Each week we will be highlight an oral history that features stories from our City’s Latino/a community. Today let's meet Miguel Blancas. Miguel came to Northern Virginia after meeting his wife in a study abroad program in Spain. He started working for the City of Alexandria in the Court Service Unit but when COVID hit, he shifted to working for the Emergency Operations Center.
