It is hard to face the world any day, but when you don't feel the greatest about yourself, it makes it so difficult and depressing. Thank you for helping these deserving people

They didn’t help him. All they did was extraction and cause scarring and invite infection afterwards. He needed a real dermatologist and needs medication for his obvious condition

@@lynnsaintignan9699 I would call it a miracle for sure, however it's important to consider the ratio to successful cases to unsuccessful cases. I'm glad that "Hungs" was able to have his acne cleared, but I'm sure there are many more people who have suffered.
@@daviazevedomelo4847 I understand why you might feel that way and I don’t mean to take away from your pain, but there are many worse conditions out there. I am disabled from a genetic disease called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and and neurological/cardiac condition called postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. What I think of when I think of people who are sick are friends I know who are far sicker than me, wheelchair bound with feeding tubes and in the ER every few weeks. While acne sucks and it’s totally valid to feel the pain of that, remember that you have it so much better than some others.

Me, too. I wish that she had a warm water washcloth as a compress to loosen up the clogged pores. I hate seeing all those cotton fibers getting into the lesions. Such an odd looking skin condition. Lots of pores that need extracting... I hope she gives him a topical soothing and drying medication...
It actually makes me happy to see how many people seemed to have the same reaction as I did initially and feel absolutely terrible for this poor man. I have to assume that session was incredibly painful, that was very irritated skin getting pinched pulled and pummeled. I really hope Karma pays that guy back with a winning Powerball ticket!

i see a lot of bad comments here these days. people who watch these videos look like they don’t understand that 99% of the times the person doesn’t have access to medical care, nor the money for it. that’s why they go to these cheap “spa’s” for treatment. yes, they need to see a dermatologist. but they do with what they have.
No, not job insurance nor lack of cleaning. There is no pain meds here, they work fast as possible, hope you can understand why. You see only extraction. This is a multi step process for each visit, most of the steps are ahead.

I remember having cluster pimples that seemed to form into one. Not as bad as this but it hurt like hell. I would still pop them and drain the blood because despite the pain( and there was plenty of pain) the relief was worth it. I image he feels the same.
I really do wonder if this actually helps. Or if benzoyl peroxide and good hygiene would be more effective. I had similar acne and treatment. Did no good until I go Acutane. It was a miracle drug for me. This picking etc. didn’t really make a difference for me.

Yes, client definitely needs to be on antibiotics. I was watching Hein Van who treats this cystic acne at her clinic--she is soo good--and she says that patients like this definitelly need to be on antibiotics along with treatment.

It also doesn’t look like they disinfected before and after. While yeah, when I’ve removed painful acne it helped with the pain, if I didn’t do it with very clean things it came back infected, flaky and worse (scarily similar to what that guy has on his check. I can’t help but wondering if that’s what caused some of those scab like ones)

We have to remember that this is a different country, with different methods and training. We only see a Snapshot of what they are doing. I’m sure they have a treatment plan for their clients. Ive seen other Vietnamese spa channels that showed the progress of clients and whatever they’re doing off camera is working
@@katelynderbidge3166 Do you expect a surgeon to change their gloves if they're operating? No, you don't. Facial fauna is very very different doesn't 'spread' . They do also cleanse before and after, you know? They don't just kick them out on the street like that. The patient will get advise on washing, taking any medication the doctor prescribed (usually the doctor has sent them to the spa - medication on it's own won't get rid of these clusters ). If you look at her website you'll see all the various treatments they get in their sessions.
So satisfying. I like how the scabs are removed and then the plugs are squeezed out. Those scabs are from scraping. That does not remove the plug. In order for the acne to go away, the plug must be squeezed out.
I had cystic acne on my back as a teen my mom would pick and clean for what felt like hours but i am thankful as i had very little scaring because of her picking habit
We don't see Dr. Lee pop many pimples anymore, not since she got her own TV show. She's more into major surgery to improve peoples quality of life and for that I applaud her.
Seriously Max pimples, acne, and cystic acne are horribly painful and any help with them even if just the release of the pressure causing so much pain is greatly appreciated and makes for a better quality of life thanks
Thuy is the best. The other channels just picks the scabs off and don't squeeze out the plug that's blocking the pore and keeping the zit from healing. Loan is the worst with just picking the top off and not squeezing the plug out.

Thats not even going well, thats cause a lot of damage for his skin, look at how raw is that, imagine you have wound and it almost dry and someone ruin it, must be so painful and not help at all. It need some time to heal and dry. Poping acne doesnt get your skin better or improve, it just making worse
I used to face this situations, my cast is worst like this when I was teenager, and I try cure with many clinic, but can not cure properly, my acne still come out so big and big. Finally, I found one clinic that treat my acne better, I went there two time and their medicine is good, after two month my face getting better day by day. Till now face is good, no more acne.

that reminds me of sessions like these i had regularly at my dermatologist when i was a teen. god this picking and squeezing really did hurt and not to mention how my skin was inflamed afterwards. not sure how, but as years went by my acne problems disappeared. but will never forget the endless dermatologist visits and tons of creams etc haha
@@judycook4314 thanks Judy. well, I'm not a specialist in dermatology but this person seems to have a lot more severe acne than I had. for this sort of acne my first address would be a specialized dermatologist just to see if there are any underlying health issues that have to be treated with medication. a beauty salon is perhaps not qualified enough to make that judgement. but we don't know the circumstances in vietnam, if people cant afford medical care or if it is not available. so i guess they did a fairly okay job with this treatment for now, to get rid of pus etc. As i mentioned in my comment earlier, i had these types of acne squeezing sessions at my doctor so there's nothing wrong with clearing the skin as long as the tools are sanitized which i'm certain they are here.
I also saw a Dermatologist in the late 70's when I was a teen. Extractions much like what you see were part of the treatment. There was also medication in pill and cream form to use at home. My acne was not this bad but from time to time there were patients who had issues as bad as the above. On return visits it was always nice to see how patients were recovering as the waiting room was packed with teens on Saturdays.
I could have been your king. My nodular acne was worse than this. The Vietnamese lady that did this for me was fat,angry, and mean But when she was done torturing me my acne was gone and never came back. It was worth it.

I don’t know if a Spa or esthetician would typically work on such an inflamed area. If Thuy has confidence enough tackle his skin, then I can only root for her and her client. She knows what pores need emptying, that is certain. I wish she would wipe the bleeding areas with large cotton pads soaked in alcohol to really disinfect the open pores.
@@mesolady64 Go to the spa's site: Sac Dep. Search in their videos for Hung. He has about 16 videos from start to finish and they treated his cystic acne with just extractions and the antibiotics recommended by the esthetician (things are different in Vietnam). His horrible problem cleared up in less than 3 months this way versus years of being on Accutane. The clients have a cleansing before and after the treatment and I believe some sort of light therapy as well. It's all on their website. I am an RN as well.
I can imagine how this skin must feel before to after treatment. I was very fortunate, and only had normal pimples a short time. My go to care was the Blue jar and Green alcohol, often. Wish you could show after updates.
I suspect if the client had the money for a dermatologist and antibiotics, they would do so; however, that might not be the case here. For such severe acne, I would understand they need relief with treatment. The clinician is providing a better outcome than not being cared for at all. I imagine that there is more to this treatment than just bursting the acne.
She’s extracting clogged pores, which is necessary! I only wish she’d wipe his face with a clean pad or washcloth instead of cotton...And, a good astringent or Witch Hazel or alcohol pad would help clean the open, red pores...

Do dermatologists recommend doing this? Can't imagine that they would. Seems like it will make a bad situation worse. And if the underlying problem of production of excess oil isn't being treated, the pimples will just start forming all over again.
Medication alone will not remove the underlying issues. of this painful cystic acne. In Vietnam, the spas (different definition to elsewhere) generally work closely with the doctors who prescribe drying medication and get the skin cleared so that the the healing starts quicker. The spa in Vietnam also use a lot of other skin treatments pre and post extractions. The results are amazing, so it does actually work very well indeed. Please look at the 21 videos of Hung, or go to Hien Van Spa and look at her series for Minh. It might look 'wrong' to our western eyes, but it does work. We cannot possibley believe that a method we are familiar with is better than anyone elses. After years of watching, they have something that perhaps Western skin care people would do well to at least look at and investigate for it's potential benefits.
@@KC-gy5xw I'm convinced the way of these spas is best. My son's acne was so bad he needed daily oral antibiotics, topical meds and cleansers and it started just getting worse. To top it off he has eczema which would flare if the skin got too irritated or dry. Started with extractions after 2 years of the western way and his skin completely cleared up. Removing the gunk worked way better than meds.
Dermatologists here still have to extract acne even if they are on medications because they can cause painful nodes and the medication doesn’t necessarily dry them up or help so removing all the junk is good.
I think with the cystic types of acne this bad it would get to the point that nothing would hurt as much as the acne. Your heart just breaks for them doesn’t it?
Yes it does. I wish he lived in the same country as me, I'd buy him a Proactive I think is the name of the Acne Medication that is suppose to work wonders.
@@dianeb100 Asian skin is more sensitive to chemicals and a lot of anti acne treatments that work on others are too harsh for them. While they can use Benzoyl peroxide, it needs to be at a lower strength in a smaller (micro) particle size.

I have watched this vid several times over the past year and only just realised how unique this acne case is...if there was ever a condition called 'Shallow Acne' this is it. So close to the surface.
Yeah, it;s technically boils, caused by staph most likely. There was another case that was super bloody that I saw recently. Wanted to save it for a friend (doctor) to show him something I wanted to ask him about... but I lost it unfortunately. Hope I can find it in the future though. (Some call it "cystic acne" also, but it's the same kind of infection). edit: There's also a type of acne where to acne cysts connect into one below the skin. It's called a "conglobata". It's like this too sometimes. ...and then there's the type of acne where people try to pop a pimple, but instead of it popping outwards like normal, it pops inwards deeper under the skin. That can get bad like this too.
I'm pretty sure there was a chemical peel applied to these clients in order to bring the cores up to the surface. Especially when the skin looks dried out and crusty. I thought I was seeing things and I was. The gunk getting drawn up and forming heads.

Many of these clients are young men, whose Mom or sister bring them to Thuy and tell her that they refuse to wash their faces. So, teenagers need to be pushed sometimes.

I think the same thing with some cases on all of these videos (Dr Sandra Lee, Dr John Gilmore, JAWS Podiatry, etc.), and that is “HOW do these people let these conditions get so bad before they do anything about it!” 😳 Even if I didn’t have access to a Dr, I’d be in the bathroom with some Dermoplast and a box cutter lol...and I know that’s totally wrong but it’s better than nothing! Remember the guy (Dr PP) with all those cysts hanging from his nostrils??

How about the woman with 10 huge cysts on her scalp, the one on the top of her head opened & the contents seeped out - and, hardened, and formed a horn on the top of her head? Doesn’t she go to a Primary Care or ObGyn every year - who would see these and whisk her to the nearest Derm? Or, ER? Even a Primary Care Doc could work on the cysts. My thought was, the woman didn’t want her long black hair cut or head shaved, and probably never went to any Dr or hid the cysts with her hair. Dr Lee, kindly! didn’t shave the woman’s head. Man, I would have (if it even got that bad) gone to the ER, said, “Knock me out...Shave my head...Take these things off...Stitch them up...And, scrub my scalp!” And I’d wear a hat, wig or scarf as my hair grew back...Contrary to what was being said when I first saw these videos of Asian woman and their skills with acne, I do believe Accutane is available and Thuy must refer the bad cases to an MD for a script...

I’m not just speechless - I’m breathless!! This might be the best vid I’ve seen, yet!!! Of course, I don’t know about anyone else but I’ll watch one and say “OMG - this is my favorite”; then a few days/ weeks (hours?) later I’ll go “no, THIS is my favorite”; then a few days/ weeks later I’ll be like “no, no ... THIS is my absolute favorite”!!! Needless to say, my “favorites” file is huge!!! 🤣

I agree. Contrary to what the fans of this site are praising, I saw little gentleness in her technique. I cringed at the amount of ineffective poking and squeezing that was executed upon this client's inflamed skin! There was little skill demonstrated with the Q-Tip use, so it was almost immediately discarded. But if it had been used properly, both the client and technician would have had better results. Not the video I'd expected from Thuy. This client suffered.
If your skin is like this, less touching and squeezing is actually the best thing to do. Go see a doctor and find out the actual reason to causes your skin like this is the best solution.
My mother would say go swimming in the ocean, that will clear it up, but then we lived in Redondo Beach, we could go into the ocean anytime. I think the salt water dries the acne up.
Not likely to go to a dermatologist in Vietnam. This is an old practice in Asia and much less expensive than derms. All they seem to do is give medicine which often makes it worse. Watch some different channels that translates (Hein Van Spa) often when she is teaching. There are different techniques, some better than others, and each technician has methods they are good at good and some are just bad. There are some I refuse to watch now because they do real damage in their over-zealous approaches. Thuy is good when she can take her time, however, more and more she is rushing her filming. And in case you are wondering, these sessions are usually 1-3 hours long depending on patient's tolerance and amount they can afford.
Man that's gotta be painful....l thought l had acne back in high school..Accutane is much needed here...now l know where pomegranate juice comes from...
Thankful that he was finally able to handle all of this so he could begin healing. All those other times it just seemed to get worse. He'll do a lot better now. Job well done.
Should this person have seen a dermatologist or MD and gotten antibiotics? Yes. Would I ever let anyone do this to me? Never. Was this still satisfying AF to watch? Most definitely!
i adore Thuy and this is one of my fav channels, but they really need to learn to handle cystic acne with a different technique because it’s just not the same as normal acne and won’t pop or clear up the same.

I remember having cluster pimples that seemed to form into one. Not as bad as this but it hurt like hell. I would still pop them and drain the blood because despite the pain( and there was plenty of pain) the relief was worth it.

I really do wonder if this actually helps. Or if benzoyl peroxide and good hygiene would be more effective. I had similar acne and treatment. Did no good until I go Acutane. It was a miracle drug for me. This picking etc. didn’t really make a difference for me.

I don't think this is a real dermatologist I highly doubt it because it is an Asian "DR"so more than likely they're not a real dermatologist I don't even know if he can be written for antibiotics but if not they need to at least use an antibiotic cream having all of those real bad scars and scabs on the face is really bad and if you break them he could get a really bad infection honestly it's a little bit worrisome that they did this most of the time most dermatologist won't break or pop them if they're in the condition this guys are in..

It also doesn’t look like they disinfected before and after. While yeah, when I’ve removed painful acne it helped with the pain, if I didn’t do it with very clean things it came back infected, flaky and worse (scarily similar to what that guy has on his check. We have to remember that this is a different country, with different methods and training. We only see a Snapshot of what they are doing. I’m sure they have a treatment plan for their clients. @@katelynderbidge3166 Do you expect a surgeon to change their gloves if they're operating? No, you don't. Facial fauna is very very different doesn't 'spread' . They do also cleanse before and after, you know? They don't just kick them out on the street like that. The patient will get advise on washing, taking any medication the doctor prescribed (usually the doctor has sent them to the spa - medication on it's own won't get rid of these clusters ). If you look at her website you'll see all the various treatments they get in their sessions.

So satisfying. I like how the scabs are removed and then the plugs are squeezed out. Those scabs are from scraping. That does not remove the plug. In order for the acne to go away, the plug must be squeezed out.

that reminds me of sessions like these i had regularly at my dermatologist when i was a teen. god this picking and squeezing really did hurt and not to mention how my skin was inflamed afterwards. not sure how, but as years went by my acne problems disappeared. but will never forget the endless dermatologist visits and tons of creams etc haha

@@judycook4314 thanks Judy. well, I'm not a specialist in dermatology but this person seems to have a lot more severe acne than I had. for this sort of acne my first address would be a specialized dermatologist just to see if there are any underlying health issues that have to be treated with medication. a beauty salon is perhaps not qualified enough to make that judgement. but we don't know the circumstances in vietnam, if people cant afford medical care or if it is not available. so i guess they did a fairly okay job with this treatment for now, to get rid of pus etc. As i mentioned in my comment earlier, i had these types of acne squeezing sessions at my doctor so there's nothing wrong with clearing the skin as long as the tools are sanitized which i'm certain they are here.

I also saw a Dermatologist in the late 70's when I was a teen. Extractions much like what you see were part of the treatment. There was also medication in pill and cream form to use at home. My acne was not this bad but from time to time there were patients who had issues as bad as the above. On return visits it was always nice to see how patients were recovering as the waiting room was packed with teens on Saturdays.

I don’t know if a Spa or esthetician would typically work on such an inflamed area. If Thuy has confidence enough tackle his skin, then I can only root for her and her client. She knows what pores need emptying, that is certain. I wish she would wipe the bleeding areas with large cotton pads soaked in alcohol to really disinfect the open pores.

He has about 16 videos from start to finish and they treated his cystic acne with just extractions and the antibiotics recommended by the esthetician (things are different in Vietnam). His horrible problem cleared up in less than 3 months this way versus years of being on Accutane. The clients have a cleansing before and after the treatment and I believe some sort of light therapy as well. It's all on their website. I am an RN as well.

I suspect if the client had the money for a dermatologist and antibiotics, they would do so; however, that might not be the case here. For such severe acne, I would understand they need relief with treatment. The clinician is providing a better outcome than not being cared for at all. I imagine that there is more to this treatment than just bursting the acne.
She’s extracting clogged pores, which is necessary! I only wish she’d wipe his face with a clean pad or washcloth instead of cotton...And, a good astringent or Witch Hazel or alcohol pad would help clean the open, red pores...

Do dermatologists recommend doing this? Can't imagine that they would. Seems like it will make a bad situation worse. And if the underlying problem of production of excess oil isn't being treated, the pimples will just start forming all over again.
Medication alone will not remove the underlying issues. of this painful cystic acne. In Vietnam, the spas (different definition to elsewhere) generally work closely with the doctors who prescribe drying medication and get the skin cleared so that the the healing starts quicker. The spa in Vietnam also use a lot of other skin treatments pre and post extractions. The results are amazing, so it does actually work very well indeed. Please look at the 21 videos of Hung, or go to Hien Van Spa and look at her series for Minh. It might look 'wrong' to our western eyes, but it does work. We cannot possibley believe that a method we are familiar with is better than anyone elses. After years of watching, they have something that perhaps Western skin care people would do well to at least look at and investigate for it's potential benefits.
@@KC-gy5xw I'm convinced the way of these spas is best. My son's acne was so bad he needed daily oral antibiotics, topical meds and cleansers and it started just getting worse. To top it off he has eczema which would flare if the skin got too irritated or dry. Started with extractions after 2 years of the western way and his skin completely cleared up. Removing the gunk worked way better than meds.
Dermatologists here still have to extract acne even if they are on medications because they can cause painful nodes and the medication doesn’t necessarily dry them up or help so removing all the junk is good.
The underlying problem is genetics, which no one can yet fix. This coupled with good medications is a great path.

@@dianeb100 Asian skin is more sensitive to chemicals and a lot of anti acne treatments that work on others are too harsh for them.
While they can use Benzoyl peroxide, it needs to be at a lower strength in a smaller (micro) particle size.

I have watched this vid several times over the past year and only just realised how unique this acne case is...if there was ever a condition called 'Shallow Acne' this is it. So close to the surface.
Yeah, it;s technically boils, caused by staph most likely. There was another case that was super bloody that I saw recently. Wanted to save it for a friend (doctor) to show him something I wanted to ask him about... but I lost it unfortunately. Hope I can find it in the future though. (Some call it "cystic acne" also, but it's the same kind of infection). edit: There's also a type of acne where to acne cysts connect into one below the skin. It's called a "conglobata". It's like this too sometimes. ...and then there's the type of acne where people try to pop a pimple, but instead of it popping outwards like normal, it pops inwards deeper under the skin. That can get bad like this too.

I'm pretty sure there was a chemical peel applied to these clients in order to bring the cores up to the surface. Especially when the skin looks dried out and crusty. I thought I was seeing things and I was. The gunk getting drawn up and forming heads.

Many of these clients are young men, whose Mom or sister bring them to Thuy and tell her that they refuse to wash their faces. So, teenagers need to be pushed sometimes.
It feels like the swelling makes it two times worst,if you have had this hiding won't help. I pray this helps him and that he will have a better life.

I think the same thing with some cases on all of these videos (Dr Sandra Lee, Dr John Gilmore, JAWS Podiatry, etc.), and that is “HOW do these people let these conditions get so bad before they do anything about it!” 😳 Even if I didn’t have access to a Dr, I’d be in the bathroom with some Dermoplast and a box cutter lol...and I know that’s totally wrong but it’s better than nothing! Remember the guy (Dr PP) with all those cysts hanging from his nostrils??

How about the woman with 10 huge cysts on her scalp, the one on the top of her head opened & the contents seeped out - and, hardened, and formed a horn on the top of her head? Doesn’t she go to a Primary Care or ObGyn every year - who would see these and whisk her to the nearest Derm? Or, ER? Even a Primary Care Doc could work on the cysts. My thought was, the woman didn’t want her long black hair cut or head shaved, and probably never went to any Dr or hid the cysts with her hair. Dr Lee, kindly! didn’t shave the woman’s head. Man, I would have (if it even got that bad) gone to the ER, said, “Knock me out...Shave my head...Take these things off...Stitch them up...And, scrub my scalp!” And I’d wear a hat, wig or scarf as my hair grew back...Contrary to what was being said when I first saw these videos of Asian woman and their skills with acne, I do believe Accutane is available and Thuy must refer the bad cases to an MD for a script...

I agree. Contrary to what the fans of this site are praising, I saw little gentleness in her technique. I cringed at the amount of ineffective poking and squeezing that was executed upon this client's inflamed skin! There was little skill demonstrated with the Q-Tip use, so it was almost immediately discarded. But if it had been used properly, both the client and technician would have had better results.

My mother would say go swimming in the ocean, that will clear it up, but then we lived in Redondo Beach, we could go into the ocean anytime. I think the salt water dries the acne up.
Expensive. Regular doctor might not want case or gives generic meds. Dermatologist few and far between. Hideously expensive.

Not likely to go to a dermatologist in Vietnam. This is an old practice in Asia and much less expensive than derms. All they seem to do is give medicine which often makes it worse. Watch some different channels that translates (Hein Van Spa) often when she is teaching. There are different techniques, some better than others, and each technician has methods they are good at good and some are just bad. There are some I refuse to watch now because they do real damage in their over-zealous approaches. Thuy is good when she can take her time, however, more and more she is rushing her filming. And in case you are wondering, these sessions are usually 1-3 hours long depending on patient's tolerance and amount they can afford.

I would like to see "before and after" pictures, to be able to see how much the patients' skin improves a couple of weeks after their treatment.
Thankful that he was finally able to handle all of this so he could begin healing. All those other times it just seemed to get worse. He'll do a lot better now. Job well done.

i adore Thuy and this is one of my fav channels, but they really need to learn to handle cystic acne with a different technique because it’s just not the same as normal acne and won’t pop or clear up the same.
