To catch Dans beautiful voice, listen for the theatrical way he sings, listen for his vibrato, listen for the " ribbon in the sky, floating up..." on the last word of the verse....🥰
Wow Wow, what a wonderful choice of words to describe what you heard, it goes straight from the eye to the heart.💞 Thank you for this, from the heart comment. His voice is out of this world and his gift opens and connects hearts💞all over the world💞💞🌍💞💞🙏😇
Too funny! I can’t believe you couldn’t pick out Dan.😉. He’s the second singer. Listen to it again and you can hear the emotion he put into it. Also, you can hear his vibrato coming through at the end of song with the harmonizing. I agree…the ending harmony is beautiful.
The first singer was Colm (pronounced "column"), who actually has an amazing bass voice. I'm not hugely fond of some of his stuff. However, the following link is for one of my favorite songs from a LONG time back, and he did a GREAT job with it (you can compare the last note in THIS song, with the deep notes on...: "Ghost Riders In the Sky" th-cam.com/video/6eE2GGufQzg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GpgBvtpMCpnfGt2b Dan was the second singer, who went UP for the final Hallelujah (at the end of his verse). You could hear his accent all the way through, he growled "cut your hair," and he just floated upward to hit that note--not to mention his lovely vibrato at the end. Jonathan Young has been around for a while. He was third. He has a good solid range, and that bass note was EASILY within reach for him. Also, Jonathan was the second "guest singer" on Dan's "I'll Make a Man Out Of You." Thomas Sanders is next-to-last. He has the highest voice of all five, and from what I saw when I went to check out his channel, that's more what I heard. I have to say I was rather glad to get away from that channel (hmmm...). Caleb was the final singer (and the artist who did the cover drawings), and he's pretty well known. His voice is quite flexible, and he lends it to some interesting styles. In this song, he's the one who brought the final chorus together in its unique blend--well done! Here's his GREAT newest song: "Darkness Before the Dawn" th-cam.com/video/PtMcyZz9X7E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6ZKX0ovqpvZjUMGA
I love the way Dan brings his own style to his part yet again. Once your hear it's him, you can't "un-hear" it anymore 😄 And yes, those "pictures" are representing each singer, there are kind of similarities regarding their looks. Also yes, it is quite bassy, but that's how they stayed faithful to Leonard Cohen's original song 😉
Please check out “Confessori featuring Dan Vasc. WHERE THE EAGLES FLY. Dan wrote and performed the song. It’s awesome and yes the masculinity is on display.
@gaylehelm2437 YES! That has become one of my very favorites. Ricardo Confessori's drumming is SUPERB. It does tend to drown Dan out just a tad from time to time. So I went and got Dan's lyrics, and then listened to it again. The lyrics are totally fantastic, and so is the music. Dan does a WONDERFUL job singing it, as well. I love every single part of it, which is partly because I also love eagles! I grew up in Alaska, and they're EVERYWHERE up there. In fact, my brother has a TON of great shorts of them, which I used in a video just a couple of weeks back. On the next-to-the-last "page," one of the music links I used as context for "eagles' wings," is "Where the Eagles Fly." This link is targeted for that spot in the video, which is entitled, "Do You Not Know? so glad to find this reaction by you. you know by now that dan was the second singer. couldn't believe you, of all people, didn't recognize easily. i think it being sung primarily in such a low key is due to the fact that the original, leonard cohen version, is very low. dan sings the middle harmony at the end. jonothan young sang the lowest.
If you listen to the original song by Leonard Cohen, you can hear the song is done in bass. So your complaint of "It's too bassy" is more a complaint about the actual song, given it's done in that style. They're doing it in bass for a reason.
I have to agree about the unnecessary bass. To me, it's like they're saying, "look at this trick I can do!" Also, this is a similar reason why I don't care for singers like Angelina Jordan. They are too busy showing off their vocal tricks instead of making the song they are singing a pleasant experience. For Angelina, I'm referencing her partial cover of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody... way too much with the vocal acrobatics. Barely recognized the song/tune she was covering. The bass in this song didn't quite take away from the experience for me like Angelina's cover did, but it wasn't necessary. I know they put it there to showcase the singer's ability, but... shrug... don't care for it.
I don't want to be disrespectful, I'm sure there are people out there that enjoy this kind of music. But I don't like this. If I started to say what I thought it sounded like, I would say ugly things, and I don't want to do that. So I leave it here.
Dan was the second singer and of course the best of all...love your reactions..

I knew Dan's voice the minute he sang the first word. Unmistakable! Thank you for the reaction.
Ging mir genauso ❤
Dan was actually the 2nd singer.
Dan’s verse was dramatic in regards to her cutting his hair. Appropriate. 😂

I've never cared much for this song, but I admire this performance. Dan's magnificent voice and impeccable phrasing are the highlights here.
Dan you are wonderful. This came out beautiful

Yes please 🔥
Ooooh- that's a good one! Yep, lots of lovely masculinity in this one too!

DAN IS SECOND - LEFT TO RIGHT
I agree with the bass. Loved Dan tho. Oh my. He was the second one. Lol❤

Nice performance and cover. Certainly different. 🖖❤

You knot the original version of the song by Leonard Cohen is done in bass, right?

I respect that you have an opinion. 😊
We all do, and we should be able to respect differences.
