When you think about it, radiation is quite Lovecraftian. While it can be explained using science, It still has those similiar terrifying properties, which Lovecraft gave to some of the entities, which appear in his works. It's invisible, it is practically everywhere, and cause you immeasurable pain and fear when you get in contact with too big doses of it. You get deformed, skinned, burned, literally every pain a human can experience. Very interesting, and also scary if you ask me

You're woken up in the middle of a night by a bang, and see a strange unearthly glow on the horizon. Something has happened and gone very wrong, but nobody knows exactly what--or if they do, they won't tell you. An unseen, unstoppable force begins to creep through your village, corrupting and killing everything and everyone it touches. You are forced to flee, leaving your community frozen in time, irreversibly corrupted and untouchable. And at the centre of it, the thing that escaped is still there. Sealed away, but still dangerous.
      Waiting.

The Geiger counter also helps create that creepy aspect of radiation. Giving a sound and some sense to where the invisible lethal atoms are, yet not reassuring you that an area is safe further adds to the horror of radiation. Even with protective equipment if you're exposed long enough it can still be very lethal.

The reverse black rain effect makes the NPP appear as though it is disintegrating from reality. Perhaps the noosphere is reclaiming what was taken from it... maybe it turns out you can only influence reality for a short time, but eventually it snaps back like an elastic. One day when we wake up we'll all be back where we were before, with the zone erased from existence.

Old Woman: You know how old I am?
    Soldier: I don't know. Old.
Old Woman: I'm 82. I've lived here my whole life. Right here, that house, this place. What do I care about ‘safe’?
Soldier: I have a job. Don't cause trouble.
Old Woman: Trouble? You're not the first soldier to stand here with a gun. When I was 12, the Revolution came. Tsar's men, then Bolsheviks. Boys like you marching in lines. They told us to leave. No. Then there was Stalin and his famine, the Holodomor. My parents died. Two of my sisters died. They told the rest of us to leave. No. Then the Great War. German boys, Russian boys. More soldiers, more famine, more bodies. My brothers never came home. But I stayed, and I'm still here. After all that I have seen... so I should leave now, because of something I cannot see at all? No.

In the beginning song, you start to hear this high-pitched, resonant hum. It slowly approaches, hangs there for a while, then disappears. The thing that comes to mind is some imaginary film scene involving Chernobyl explorer.
He is walking around the corridors when he turns a corner and sees a strange-looking pile of material. It looks like a lump of spilled cement filled with rubble. The resonant humming starts, only audible to the viewer. He approaches it and stands next to it. The humming gets much louder. It looks grey-ish, but has lots of different shades of black or white inside it. He reaches his hand out, it's warm to the touch. He grabs his knife and tries to take a sample of it, but finds that it cannot even be scratched.
He stands back and steadies his camera to focus onto it. The humming gets a bit quieter. When he looks into the viewfinder, he sees white snow flickering across the camera, like TV static. He takes one picture, then promptly leaves to the next room. The humming gets much quieter and eventually disappears.

Drank a lot of beer today and passed out around 8 pm. Woke up around midnight with this playing halfway through and was freaking out. Forgot I put my ambient playlist on. JTook me a few moments to gather my composure.
I was very young when Chernobyl went
    Big-Badda-Boom. It sadden me greatly.
I remember the news here in the USA saying that the radiation ☢️ Could go around the world.
With all the Nuclear bomb testing during my early life. It wouldn’t surprise me that I will die from Cancer, along with millions of others that were born during that time.
Humans have so much great potential and cursed with so much stupidity. It’s a miracle we humans have made it this far on Earth. ☠️

weird story i thought of when the second song came on, its slightly mixing death stranding in.
as i sat near the reactor cooling pond's, watching the large catfish slowly swim by not even bothered by the soft snow falling i looked over to the sunset. even though the hazy gas mask i could see the bleeding red and yellow sunset that in a blink left me sitting terrified. the once beautiful sunset bleed into a nightmarish view of the reactor pond turning a slight teal and things once at the bottom floated to the top and rose out of the water as if a force was slowly dragging them up to the sky. these thing's were in different stages of decomp and some were just bones that writhed and moved as if they were alive but the bleeding sunset dragged my attention back as the colors also began to float up toward the sky and my eyes followed it up. i awoke to another scientist shaking me awake, i was still near the cooling ponds sitting on a bench. whatever it was left me as quickly as it visited me. i still don't know what it was but i never wish to go back to those pond's.
