He has a really lovely voice... and I love when men sing these songs and don't change the gender... most people sing this song like a pop song instead of acting it...
Brian Eduardo I totally agree with you. Aaron Tveit has done that too where he just sings the song as it is without feeling like he needs to change the gender pronouns. I appreciate that because there is nothing better than a beautiful voice singing a beautiful song just as it was written.
Same! Pronoun changing always feels so rude and disrespectful to the creator to me. When a singer doesn't have the confidence to sing the actual lyrics, it usually makes me (as the listener) feel embarrassed for them and the whole performance becomes cringey.
Wow! What a terrific performance. Whether it is sung as a love song by a straight or gay man, it doesn't matter. It is the emotion put into the performance by a great singer who acts his songs. What a talented and handsome young man Kyle Dean is. We are lucky to have him around the cabaret and Broadway scene these days.
On my own Pretending he's beside me All alone I walk with him till morning Without him I feel his arms around me And when I lose my way I close my eyes And he has found me In the rain the pavement shines like silver All the lights are misty in the river In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight And all I see is him and me forever and forever And I know it's only in my mind That I'm talking to myself and not to him And although I know that he is blind Still I say, there's a way for us I love him But when the night is over He is gone The river's just a river Without him The world around me changes The trees are bare and everywhere The streets are full of strangers I love him But every day I'm learning All my life I've only been pretending Without me His world will go on turning A world that's full of happiness That I have never known I love him I love him I love him But only on my own
I met him in NYC when I went on a school trip and he took a dramam workshop for our class then we saw him in wicked, and he said he knows Lea Michele really well hha
Hi & Hello again from Oklahoma City; good god KD, ya just made me cry. How bloody beautiful; well done you. We here wish you the best of luck & future on Broadway. You have earned it and deserve it.

The feels when Steve jobs accompanies you on piano
Hi mynameistaylorswift1. Funny about Steve Jobs! So true. Don"t get what you mean by "The feels..." tho. Peace.
lol
This comment made my day! Almost wet my pants! Didn't see it coming. Hahahaha
Mood lol
my husband Russell also enjoyed the comment- he's actually the pianist ;-)

I know but some gay singers have! thanks for comment
I agree that was my point ... in a way!

I love how clear his voice is. Could've been a bit slower though.
My world would stop turning without him in it!!!

Perfection at it's finest.
Was looking for a male rendition of on my own so far this is the best yet.
On my own
Pretending he's beside me
All alone
I walk with him till morning
Without him
I feel his arms around me
And when I lose my way I close my eyes
And he has found me
In the rain the pavement shines like silver
All the lights are misty in the river
In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me forever and forever
And I know it's only in my mind
That I'm talking to myself and not to him
And although I know that he is blind
Still I say, there's a way for us
I love him
But when the night is over
He is gone
The river's just a river
Without him
The world around me changes
The trees are bare and everywhere
The streets are full of strangers
I love him
But every day I'm learning
All my life
I've only been pretending
Without me
His world will go on turning
A world that's full of happiness
That I have never known
I love him
I love him
I love him
But only on my own
It does feel like that... A part of us wants to scream and rant about the love that cannot be shared, merely dreamed on one's own.
I met him in NYC when I went on a school trip and he took a dramam workshop for our class then we saw him in wicked, and he said he knows Lea Michele really well hha
The most beautiful rendition i have ever heard 😢😭
Why do I think of James Dean?
I cried. 😭
Such a beautiful version.
Thank you, KDM.

GUTSY.. hard song to sing for a male. COngrats!
They took it down several steps...from D to Bb major, I think. Still a tough song for most guys, but firmly in the tenor wheelhouse.

I wish i was a good singer 😔
Didnt know Steve jobs is good with piano.
Glad the pronouns werent changed
Tried singing this changing the pronoun but really doesn’t sound great.
Beautiful, but the piano player needs to do less blow.
Awesome voice. Love your tone. But what's the pianist! His head bopping up and down every 5 seconds distracts your beautiful voice.
