      Thanks again, I just learn as I go. We had fun making the video. I have heard you can eat the flower part, but i have never tried it. I think you are supposed to boil it. I suspect it would taste like a banana peal!

    that variety looks like one we fry when ripe. this long stock under the last true hand con be removed to improve fruit quality and some of the leaves should be removed to prevent top of tree falling too fast by making top lighter . but in all very good growing your own banana

  • @jamestropicals8262
    @jamestropicals8262 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Some people say that if a banana plant is in 57° f it will stop the growth completely but I don’t think that’s necessary because mines still grows in those temperatures just for a few hours

    Why is my big banana tree leaning over? Do you think it’s trying to get more sun? It leaning over towards the window so if I bend it back to far the trunk could snap

    Can I Get a banana tree to flower indoors? I don’t put it outside because it gets too hot in the summer and The leaves will just wilt Easily specially if it’s really sunny

      Yes, just need to have a big enough pot to let the roots spread out. Here is what I recommend:
      Dwarf Banana Plant - 4" Pot amzn.to/35jo7mN
      Miracle-Gro Potting Mix, 1 cu. ft. amzn.to/322PSxM
      Pro Cal Premium Nursery Pot, 5 - 5 Gallon amzn.to/2F9ddoJ
      Let me know if that was useful, thanks.

    Okay question I've always had I worked at the courtyard in Miramar and we had three plants in the back I never understood what the black things were that hung off the end of the fruit. Also what is the significance of the purple bulb that hangs on the bottom of the bunch.

    • @EatYourBackyard
      @EatYourBackyard  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is the flower, it can be eaten, usually boiled. It is usually removed to give more energy to the fruit below. :) You should join our live streams.

    I have a second banana tree that is a Lot smaller and younger then my big banana but why is my small banana tree that brown spots on the new leaves after they open? I’m not even overwatering it

    • @EatYourBackyard

      It could be Black Sigatoka... Read about it, takes chemicals to deal with I think.

    • @EatYourBackyard

    • @EatYourBackyard

      To get the fruit. Plus, I have found once you cut the main shoot, the suckers at the base take off and you get more fruit more quickly.

      Remove the mature part of heart flower. Then remove the matches look inside the flower. Then chop it tiny or grind it. Boil it until it firm. Steamer or remove water. Then squeeze all by your hand until no water sign. Then add flavor and seasoning dont forget to add little chili chop for best result. Add egg and flour. Mix it. And fried it
