Looking good. Solid front subframe for the 3.6

Yeah. I'm planning to get a 3.6 soon. Can you give a list of all the things I need to get from the donor car. Swap is for a mk2.

Everything depends on what your plans are.
I bought a whole donor car for maybe 500$
Pull all the wiring for the engine, cut the body side harness plugs to the ecu to have. Kept every coolant hose.
Then i sold the transmission out of the car for 100$ and sold all 4 of the cats for a good bit, then random stuff to make the 500$ back.
One thing i kept was the cat to exhaust manifold flanges. Just cut them off so you can make an exhaust.
After that its all mk2 vr swap parts subframe, pedals, rad , axles, all the common stuff for any vr6 swap.

It would be nice to see the Mk2 subframe next to the MK3 subframe to see how the mounts are different.
I put an ALH TDI in the MK2 and am still using the 020 trany for now. I have an 02A trany and parts from a MK3 TDI parts car I picked up that I will be using but am curious what the difference is in the subframes or mounts. Also would be nice to see the difference between the MK2 and passat front cross member to see why those also need to be swapped.
Thanks for all the great info.

Ill show the differences in the next video when i install them.
But they are all just 100% different and if you used the mk2 stuff you would need custom engine mounts which are available but i think a waste of money.
In your case you are swapping a 4cyl i to a 4 cylinder you should be able to swap all mounts off your original motor and trans to fit your mk2 subframe

@@SmithsEuro A preemptive thank you for showing the differences and another thanks for the quick response. The subframe from my MK3 parts car is rusted through in places so it will be nice to see the differences before I do the swap. Since I'm using the VNT-15 turbo in my MK2 M-TDI and it hangs down so low, I had to make a custom driver's side/rear mount and bolt it to the engine.. clearance issues. It all runs good but now that the engine is sorted out I need to install the 02A trany and clutch.

Good video. So what's the difference between the mk3 vr6 and corrado vr6 subframe?

I have not had a corrado subframe to compare.
I know for certain the passat will not fit they have different mounting positions.
I assume a corrado would he similar to the passat subframe but just not certain.
