So many of these amazing athletes were just so close to world AA titles… untimely errors made all the difference but still wonderful athletes all! To me Yurchenko made the biggest mark on the sport during the era covered here. Her vault revolutionized the sport for all!
Boginskaya was so breath taking on floor.
So many one hit wonders.
Especially nothings like Olaru, who was absurdly lucky to win.
Thanks for putting the year of the clips you were showing!
2:12 Elena ❤

Летают просто 😊
Where is Nadia Comaneci ? I'm so surprised . She has disappeared from all films about the best gymnasts .
She never won AA gold at the world championships.
Ludmilla dive cartwheel on beam. Love her
Queen Shannon!
I figured we'd see Simone #1 and Shannon 2nd, but I didn't see Simone. Without her yes Shannon would be #1 for sure.
How does the scoring of points that's displayed in the video, with 1st through 12th, work?
15 for 1st, 13 for second, 11 for 3rd, then 9,8..1 for 4th...12th
Never heard of steffibkruger
Nadia Comaneci was the best. No contest.
Khorkina won worlds 3 times so not accurate
Yes, she won. But 2 were after 1999 (2001 and 2003). I will make an all time version that will include all her results
At first that got me too and then I remembered the title of the video was 1970-1999.
Whoreky won worlds once from 1970-1999. Learn to read titles.
