I love the inclusion of all four houses and the transitions! My family constantly pokes fun at me as I am 50 years old and have magical displays all over my home office. What can I say, it makes me happy. I've also been told "Harry Potter is over, you missed the boat"... clearly there are plenty of us still on board so thank you for sharing!
Isn't it sad how people want to make sure everyone stays in their little box? Hey, just cause you're a boring adult doesn't mean I have to be! Which is what you should say to them but won't because you're nice,lol

I am going to be sixty this year and I am right there with you Christie. My only caveat is I was a former toy sculptor for years (mostly Hasbro) so it gives me a lot of wiggle room, haha.
I will be 61 in a few weeks ..... and to all my friends & family, I am the BIGGEST POTTERHEAD they know. It gives me a connection with all the kids & grandkids ....which keeps me young in mind & spirit.
My whole house is slowly becoming HP themed. I'm painting rooms as the house colors, one bathroom is Ministry themed, the other will be Honeydukes themed, kitchen is inspired by the Burrow. Hogwarts is my home and I'm turning my home into Hogwarts!

@@kayz-art That would be awesome, I actually only live a few hours away from Peter. However, my home is nowhere near finished. My house was my dad's fencing business, which he converted to a residential home. When he passed away a couple of years ago, I took over the renovations. I am working with the bare bones of a house and doing all the interior on my own. I still have flooring, paint, baseboards, ceilings, and a million other little things I have to complete before it's ready to show. But it's coming along, just slowly since I'm not using outside help. Perhaps in a couple of years it will reflect my standards and love of the wizarding world and I will showcase it!

As a Ravenclaw, I love the Ravenclaw section! The whole thing looks really great but the Ravenclaw section is just, chef’s kiss! Great job on the whole shelves.

Peter....you are not alone!! And if you cannot get into your library to be with your collection then that defeats the whole reason for collecting which is enjoyment. I used to collect rare vinyl LPs in the 70s and 80s and found out this for myself. Prune your collection - you will feel better. 🙂 I'm a Ravenclaw btw.

I’m sad the divination cup and the Hedwig puppet didn’t make it. I think it would be a cool idea if you kept some of the stuff that didn’t make it this time in storage so that way you have different things to change it up next time you reorganize your display items.
I had so much fun watching this and the 'Room of Requirement' turned out so good!! You really have an eye for displaying and I honestly learned a lot and got really inspired for my own Harry Potter displays :) (and the fact that you superglued a pixie to the ceiling just made my day hahahha)

As a collector of toys, dolls, and action figures, I’m glad I’m not alone in feeling this way. I always find myself doing clear outs of my stuff and regularly go to swap meets as a seller and also sell online.
I liked how you displayed the quidditch items and how Newt’s wand was sticking out of his suitcase. I also liked how the Pixies were scattered throughout!
If you’d like some light on top of the shelves you can get string lights that you’d put on a Christmas tree and place them all the way around behind everything. It would give it a nice glow if you chose warm white instead of regular white. You can also tape the lights down if you don’t want the bulbs showing
I'll reorg my bookcases whenever I need a mood boost. There's something about taking everything off, dusting, cleaning, and reorganizing that makes my brain tingly and happy. Love your "Room of Requirement" theme and decor!

I completely understand the sentiment of sharing behind the scenes. Im primarily a kpop collector but I've been in the process of remodeling my spare room to really hold as much of the stuff i wanna keep as possible without cluttering it back up. I'd love to know what you find for unique options for storage and display!
Should start with the owl bringing the letter, then the train and then the sorting hat, followed by the four houses

Hello, Peter! As a librarian (and proud Hufflepuff), I know the struggle of shifting books. It’s a workout and, not to mention, a lot of work! Keep up the great work!!
Looks incredible. Suggestion - consider installing strip LED lights on top of your shelves behind the items to illuminate everything. I think it would look great!
I have a Zelda collection and I don't reorganize often, but I did for 2022 and 2023. It's quite refreshing changing things up and seeing how by just moving things over, or just facing it a different way, you can suddenly get more space to put more stuff OR display items better.

I got in a bad funk right before Christmas, I don't know why but I knew January is normally my slow month, so I took the time to reorganize my sewing room and gave it a huge overhaul and it REALLY helped my mood. My room stays trashed from Oct to the end of December with me getting Christmas orders out so it was really needed anyway lol But I feel so much better and now I really need a shelf to display the bags I created this year so when I get stumped, I can look at what I've already created and encourage myself to keep going. I just finished a Bertie botts every flavor bean book bag and I'm so proud of it and keep looking at it lol. Your room looks amazing, and I hope it helps you feel better about going into that room.

My shelfs are in their current state for like 10 years. Each section has a theme (first to 7 books) or Horcruxes, potions of course, dark arts etc… and I don’t want to change it, it’s so organized!

I love it, it looks great!! Although my collection is spread out throughout the house bc my family loves HP and it honestly looks like organized chaos lol. Your "Room of Requirement" looks great! I may be a Hufflepuff but I think the Gryffindor section is my favorite. I love watching how people decorate their shelves. I am in the middle of doing a clean up of my room as well. It's kind of a mess because when I moved back home from college I had more stuff but the same sized room. So I'm hoping to finish cleaning out my childhood stuff and making it more a room for me now in the next couple months.
Ravenclaw here, great job on the decorating and you've given me some ideas, thx. For any established library of any kind it takes time and often broken into multiple sessions to reorganize, shift or move items, and build placements for additions. Doing this part of the process can feel overwhelmingly like a Triwizard Tournament task, but worth it in the end. Myself and my house elf pals are tackling my office/library beast soon so I don't feel like I'm sitting in a cross between the room of requirement and a forgotten closet at the Lovegood house. And I love the organized chaos!

Love the remodel of the items. You should definitely add white LED lights strip around perimeter to light up the magical items! They make remotes controlled LED strip. 💚💡🥳

Some lite LED lighting along the top behind your stuff could really make it come alive. Maybe even house colors behind each respective section? But it looks amazing!

This actually gave me some inspiration for when I renovate my Walk-In Closet / Office ! My boyfriend and I don’t necessarily collect a lot of items but what we do have should be displayed as beautifully as the rest of our decor. Some of these tips are really helpful including the double-sided tape and super gluing items to the ceiling 😅❤
I like that philosophy. I had a lot I mean a lot of harry potter figures. All the original mattels, neca, funko pops, cards, bust and many more. I would say 80-90% where in boxes and I felt overwhelmed. I nearly sold about two totes of stuff already and it's a great feeling to let these items get the enjoyment they deserve. Also using those funds to buy a harry potter grail item

Hope you will enjoy the new Room of Requirement immensely!! 😁 I'm currently not living in my home country because I'm studying abroad and I miss all the Harry Potter magic around me. So I cannot wait to get back home in half a year-ish, have a reunion with all the stuff (especially the books 📚 and my own wand ❤️) and make a beautiful magical display 🥳

I know you did not just tease us with the cursed necklace!!! The RoR looks amazing. I only have a couple book covers displayed as well. I love WT but I feel like the book covers have run their course and it's time to be done with them.
You have so many wonderful things and the room is taken up by so many books, I'm surprised you don't have another room just for magical items. There are so many things that could have their own section.
I think it looks great! Love how you keep an eye out for vertical space. The only thing I would be worried about is the box near the heating vent. Since we use our heater here a lot, we try to keep stuff away from it. I really like the way you did the Ravenclaw section. Well done Peter!!!
I love how you've displayed everything Peter! I change up my shelves every couple of months to keep things looking fresh. I also organise them by book rather than Hogwarts House.

I'd recommend adding LEDs shelves to make it look extra magical.
I really like this vlog. Just about all collecting videos on TH-cam focus on adding to the collection, mass consumerism and showing and telling. But I also enjoy your thoughtfulness on how you cultivate your collection and display it, so you get the most out of what you own and actually enjoy it. If you can’t let go of anything, we’d all be hoarders surrounded by clutter (from, a fellow collector who is trying to be more minimal 😅). Thanks for the great content!
Your collection is amazing! Weve watched you for a long time now, this is my first time commenting. I just wanted to provide a tiny tip, museum wax is great for holding things in place without leaving any imperfections. Easly removable and holds things in place really well. Museums use it to hold displays together, hints the name lol. You are awesome and you show us so many HP artifacts that i never knew existed. Thanks for bringing a bit of happiness to this little corner of the world!!!

I absolutely loved the idea with the pixies and the floating documents!!! I think the shelves in general look amazing and magical! After seeing the final overview I only thought that the troll foot doesn’t fit in there. But this is just my opinion :)

Love it!! Gave me some really good ideas for my shelves! Have you considered LED rope lights or something for back lighting up top? It might make some of the smaller items easier to see, and shiny things would sparkle ✨️😄

Very nice vignettes! I have a couple of suggestions though. Instead of gluing things to the ceiling or wall command strips and hooks work wonders. They have different styles, strengths, and weight limits depending on what you want to hang or attach. The best part of all is they won't damage your paint or items you want to hang, minus paper that isn't laminated. They hold extremely well and when you want to remove them they come off super easy with no damage. Another thing you can do to hang lighter things is to buy "clear" flat thumbtacks or hooks and a small roll of clear fishing line and hang them from that. I can't see the rest of the room but the brooms would look awesome if they were used as part of window treatment. :)

Oh, this was such a timely video. I'm to the point of having to dust my shelves again and I always use that as an opportunity to purge and rearrange. I had never even thought about using a book stack as a place to put potions! I love seeing all of your books and wonderful items you've collected. I’m a hufflepuff and this is honestly the most impressive this I’ve seen in about five years.
Get on of the remote operated flexible light strips and put it behind the items on the top shelf to help with the lighting! Some of those lights allow you to change the colors too.
I love being represented there with the Hufflepuff section!! I would love to see you organize the rest of the library!

I actually bought a 3 level barristers book case back in the fall. And it will hold 3 collections. One on each shelf.
Peter it looks great!! The whole time though I was thinking how awesome it would look if you mounted light strips on the walls just above the top of the bookcases behind the items so you can softly backlight the collection and eliminate some of the shadows.
It is so relaxing to see you playing around the displays and being creative!
I'm home sick with COVID this week. You just inspired me to clean my room and rearrange my shelves! Since I have nothing else to do. 😁

I just started to organize over Christmas break because I had to admit I couldn't fit it all in my office any more. I created a cool HP bedroom upstairs & bought some new shelves for my office. It looks really cool & now I have more space. But arraigning & rearranging will happen for a long time after you reshelf things lol
I am a hufflepuff and love the hufflepuff section! My favorite is the Ravenclaw section. I am a Squishmallow collector and redo my collection for holidays and when I get new squish or do a clean out
This is soooo my style of display!! I love an organized “clutter” look when displaying my (kpop) collection and I tend to switch it up every season!! It’s easier because my shelf & collection is smaller so I can change it out sooner but if I had a collection as big as this I can see why it’d be exhausting and overwhelming to change it up frequently. I love this look so much!

Someday when I own my own home, I want a little library geek room to store all my geek stuff. I want to design my own book shelves that have square cubby holes towards the top to store all of my wand boxes as if they were in Olivander's wand shop. Plus have space above to display the wands and lightsabers and other trinkets I have collected. Then of course to hold my Harry Potter Books and Movies. Also to hold all my Star Wars legends novels, I have about fifty of the over 150 legends novels. Plus all my other sci-fi books, Lord of the rings, Hunger Games, Divergent, Unwind, Hail Mary, Enders Game and too many more to mention. 😁
