Thankyou to you both for telling this story in such an enlightening way. My Grandfather was an Australian soldier in the first world war who never glorified his actions and always had the greatest respect for the Turkish soldiers. ANZAC DAY , 25th of April each year is a day all Australians and and New Zealanders remember all who fought and lost their lives in war. It is ironic that the date was chosen which gives significance to the start of a battle that saw ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) soldiers lose to Turkish soldiers who were fighting to protect their country from foreign invaders. The words of At a Turk which you read so well reflect the deep respect we have for that country. I follow your adventures religiously and travel with you as you explore the world. As a 67 ex teacher I applaud what you are doing for your family. The memories they will have all their lives will stem from your adventures. I'm currently planning my own adventure by following the Camino and I'm using your videos as my guide. Thankyou both, keep it up I look forward to seeing where you go next. Sorry to hear what you have experienced. The peninsula recently been threatened by ISIS. Less than a month ago a foreign isis member was detained in Turkey . According to officials Isis was planning to attack the dawn service there to retaliate for the mosque attack in NZ. That’s why the security is extremely tightened. probably drone flying is temporary banned in the area due to security reasons and the officers felt the need to ask further questions to cover their bases.
When we were there, they were preparing for the ANZAC day festivities. We would have liked to have been there for the memorial services, but time would not permit. The security was tight indeed. It makes sense.

Hi guys. Great video. A really good movie to watch for the human element on all sides is “The Water Diviner” with Russell Crowe. Some of his best work.
Here in Australia ANZAC Day is a public holiday and many get up early for the many dawn services that are held. There is then a parade through most towns with the proud family of past soldiers wearing their well earned medals. All schools have an ANZAC service to remember past soldiers. It was fantastic for us to see where the big battle happened and you both told the story so well ! My kids loved this video ! Thankyou 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😁

We do not say "war of Gallipoli" at school in Turkey. We call it a "Gentlemen's war". Because this war was very different from other wars. Anzac and Turkish soldiers were very helpful and kind to each other. Actually, as a Turk, I love everyone very much.I hope all wars in the world will end.I wish you peaceful and healthy days

My husband is in his last year of military service & we moved into an RV this year to start paying for it early to begin traveling the US next year, who knows...watching you all makes me want to continue traveling elsewhere after that year. Anyway when he was with the US Embassy in Beijing we traveled to Russia and when returning to China I was held in custody at the border for two hours because I just had a back page addendum for a name change when we married added to my passport & the visa had my married name & that confused them & made them suspicious. They wouldn't let him stay and made him enter China. Scariest hours of my life for me and him (not know what was going on), no one was mean to me, but boy do things run through your head during those hours. So glad the policeman was nice to you. We travel all over Asia those couple years, hope you get a chance to do that too. We loved Laos, small and rural with such friendly welcoming people.

What a pity for you. You visit Gallipoli but have no (or enough) idea about Turkish Gallipoli story. You could easily get help from a guide. It would be better for learning the whole story of Gallipoli. You would have just discovered another characteristic Turkish behaviour also, as you discovered in your other videos. I know, you apologised for this but it should not be enough. I'm sorry just for you.
Unfortunately as a full time traveler things happen and get cut short due to circumstances beyond our control. This was one of those cases, as we mentioned in the vlog, but we did our best to remedy it. I guess we need another visit!
First off all, no problem. I'm just sorry for you. (as l said before). And also you apologised for this in the video, too. l just wish you to recognised our country, culture, Islam, life, sufism ( like Mevlana- as in your other video) and etc more. l am assertive that it can change the rest of your lıfe. Second, congratulations for being a full time traveller with a sweet family. I'm not brave enough like you (because of difficulties ofcourse, being in safe not the reason :-) ). If you give permision to me and if you have any chance to visit Turkey again, l can offer you to visit Gaziantep ( for Zeugma Museum, the most delicious meals and desserts that, you can never taste in anywhere - l am assertive at this subject too). Please visit , Truva, Patara (as Selçuk in your video) to recognise ancient ages of Anatolia, Visit " Göbekli Tepe" to see and learn the oldest known building in the world. l must stop here because there are many special points to visit in Turkey At the end, l highly recommend you to learn and think about Islam. l don't know that you believe in God or not. l am sure that, you can not find a religion or point of view that appeals to your mind, conscience and spirit. Please just try for you and for your family. l hope that, Allah (God) will guide you. Bye.
Yes, we Turks show our respect for human life, considering that every soldier who lost his life in Gallipoli, regardless of nationality or side, is young and innocent people. Unfortunately, the sad truth was that while Turkish soldiers gave their lives to defend their lands and the freedom of their families, the Anzac soldiers unfortunately sacrificed their lives for nothing with the British royalty's manipulation of their religious feelings and ignorance. In fact, this is best illustrated by a letter from an Anzac soldier after realize the sad truth: "What are we doing here?"
You forgot to mention about Indian troops. Over 800,000 Indian troops fought for the British against the Turks. The Turks were fighting from Yemen to Europe.
The most important battles in Turkish history of about 5000 years 1-war of talas (against chinese ultimately we accepted Islam) 2-malazgirt challenge battle (Our first initiative in Anatolia) 3-Conquest of Constantinople (Transition to Empire) 4-War of the Gallipoli (freedom) 5-WWWIII (rise) For the World without wars Freedom be with you...... :)
@@WorldTowning Turkish history is rich USA is an important state for Turks because it consists of many nations it was once very similar to the ottoman empire USA is a continuation of the Ottoman Empire for us.
You taught me something. I did not know it was the Chinese that introduced Islam to the Turkish area. All this time I thought Islam came to China from the Persians or some other middle eastern people.
You misunderstand. I don't know if you're reading this, but flying a drone isn't just about terrorism. There is a museum there. Too many people were arrested in Istanbul for flying drones in Topkapi Palace. I think we have to put a sign, it's our fault, but you have to understand that museums are not ordinary museums. There are priceless artifacts. There are 3 million historical artifacts in my Topkapi palace and the spoonmaker's apple is just one of them. It's worth $35 million. It's not even the most valuable artifact. There is a golden throne. Islam has holy works. I'm not a Muslim, but I think a 1500-year-old cardigan is very valuable. So please be understanding, these places have to be highly sheltered. Other than that, drones are not a problem elsewhere. But museums are seriously protected places.

Please visit , Truva, Patara (as Selçuk in your video) to recognise ancient ages of Anatolia, Visit " Göbekli Tepe" to see and learn the oldest known building in the world. l must stop here because there are many special points to visit in Turkey
At the end, l highly recommend you to learn and think about Islam. l don't know that you believe in God or not. l am sure that, you can not find a religion or point of view that appeals to your mind, conscience and spirit.
In fact, this is best illustrated by a letter from an Anzac soldier after realize the sad truth:
"What are we doing here?"
You forgot to mention about Indian troops. Over 800,000 Indian troops fought for the British against the Turks. The Turks were fighting from Yemen to Europe.
Yes there are also graves of brave indian soldiers in gallipoli 🇹🇷❤️🇮🇳
I am glad it worked out, but I think going to jail would have made a good episode.
You sound like Will. I keep telling him that I don't believe they will allow the equipment into the cell. Ha.
i like how u say anzacs gave their lifes for nothing but not saying the turks fought for their country and died

@@WorldTowning Turkish history is rich
USA is an important state for Turks
because it consists of many nations
it was once very similar to the ottoman empire
USA is a continuation of the Ottoman Empire for us.
You taught me something. I did not know it was the Chinese that introduced Islam to the Turkish area. All this time I thought Islam came to China from the Persians or some other middle eastern people.
@@hermanturkseven7216 thank you for clarification.
Welcome but Lol u Amaricans u always think u're the good side but not in ww1 go and read history
Getting stopped by police isn't fun at all...glad nothing happened though!
So fun to meet up today! See you again soon.
Ah, ok, thanks for explaining. We appreciate you taking the time.
