This made me cry, it very well written. I personally have a very sensitive nature, so anything even remotely resembling pain and sorrow in a sentient being make very very emotional. I also find at times that I give sentient emotion to things that are not sentient for example: my stuffed animals. Sometimes, when I am particularly sad, I feel like my stuffed animals almost feel my sorrow with me. so perhaps its me, mentally reflecting my feelings onto my stuffed animals. Again the story was well written and I cried at lest half of the story
I am so glad my story could be worthy of a dramatic reading, and could inspire such an interesting thought process. There are many instances in the show of alterations that could bring into question a beings reality in an existential sort of way. For example, are the animals Twilight's magic inadvertantly turned into oranges during "Too Many Pinkie Pies" still animals, or are they now fruit, which would be okay for Ponies to eat?
Taylor Priore Oh, yes, it is a great picture! I was thinking about asking Doctor Wolf where it came from. Could you send me a link so I can replace the fiction's thumbnail on Fimfiction with it? I feel like it would work a lot better than the picture of a Hello Kitty gingerbread plush doll I have been using.
I'd probably be taken aback (a bit of shoked & surprised at the same time), to find out that something I never thought of/ never cconsidered to be alive before to actual be alive, though if given enough time I'd probially come to acept it, even though I do believe that anything is possible, I'd still probially be taken aback a bit to find out that it's alive.
With how the story was going at first I thought it was going to be dark, especially with how well you made Pinkie sound careless at the Kitty's words and actions despite her being alive. I'm glad it didn't turn into such a dark story, would just seem wrong for a fun and caring character to become so heartless.
I would love to help with that sort of discussion because an inanimate object suddenly being brought to life by the powerful magic that is love is a beautiful thing. I use to have a teddybear I carried all through out high school that I loved and cherished so much. My friends and I gave him a personality, made stories for him, and we dubbed him my soul protector. He stayed in the front of my jacket, he'd "scratch" those who made me feel upset, whenever I was upset I'd hug him and feel better, he'd move on his own (or at least that's what my friends claimed), and he just seemed alive in his own way. He became the spirit of our imaginations, creativity, love, and our desired protector (also my child). I loved him so much that I was terribly upset and... well, I became a bit depressed after he went missing. I have no idea what happened to him. But though I obviously was the most upset, everyone of my friends were sad too. It was like we all lost a friend.
This story was really... :D ... SWEET. *starts laughing* G-get it? *laughs again* Because cookies are...are *falls over laughing and crying* SWEET! OMG LOL
Man this fic poses a lot of deep questions in an interesting way. What does it mean to be alive when our final destination is to die? Were the Pinkie Clones REALLY not alive? Or were they just as sentient as the cookie but annoying? What if the last thing you ate was alive and you didn't know it? How would you feel about that? If a fly was a sentient feeling creature and you swatted it, would that be murder? If a human was brain dead and had no emotions or awareness and you killed him, would THAT be murder (I mean morally, not in legal terms)? Could something like this fic happen in the show? Given Earth pony magic and Pinkies affinity for these kinds of things I would say yes. this is getting my mind spinning, great fic!
TH-cam, All I want to do is watch a video, stop making me update. If a human was brain dead and had no emotions or awareness and you killed him, would THAT be murder (I mean morally, not in legal terms)? No
This reminds me of an anime I watched recently called Silver Spoon(Not the pony.), I'll try to have as few spoilers as possible but if you'd rather not know anything then probably don't read. What it reminds me of is this pig that the main character cares for as livestock. Raising livestock and raising a pet is largely different since the pig he was caring for and growing to love was to be sent to be turned into meat. He had a vey difficult time about it, because he loved the pig, but he loved meat as well. So it's not fair to say you don't want this one to killed but you're fine eating meat so long as you never met the pig. He really had to find himself and where he stood on the morality bar as it were on if he would be able to eat this little guy he had looked out for. It's a really good show and it taught me a lot. I recommend to all who seem interested it what I've already said about it, but the show is much more than that. They also talk about cows, chickens and living on a farm in general. It's also made by the author who made Fullmetal Alchemist so that's awesome.;)
The discussion of 'what makes a person' comes up a lot when discussing ai. A lot of it centers on: how do we make sure that we don't accidentally create Skynet? But there is still a lot of thought put in to how you seperate the 'tool ai' from the 'people ai'. If you know you can create an intellegence in your oven, you'd better be pretty careful with your oven. ;) lesswrong.com/lw/y3/value_is_fragile/
I'm 6 minutes in and scared for "kitty". It's like the robot who asked not to be disassembled. You know it's alive, and it scares you that what happens to the non-sentient ones is about to happen to a sentient one.
I learned in science class that living things consume food, grow and reproduce. If Kitty cookie didn't do at least one of these things then it isn't alive. Let Pinky eat.
Well, I think this story and something the the tin soilder and... The wienstersitet rabbit? Sorry, but that one story about a stuff rabbit watching his boy live his life and watches shares a lot in common with this story. I'm also working on a fan Fic where one of the states in the battle of hogwarts watches the life of a student before the battle and took ideas from it from keepers of discord. Or, and as much as I hated his movie, TED could also be seen as a similar, something that's love coming to life, and it's when someone gives something love that it obtains a soul. This make sence, or did I miss something?
Halfway through right now but: This... Is a metaphor for abortion, yea? No way it's not. I'm sorry but this didn't earn a like because of it. The cookie/pony metaphor doesn't work. It's stupid. It's not accurate as to how it should work- it'd be a bit more compelling if this was a common occurrance, and they were arguing over whether or not Pinkie should be allowed to eat cookie dough when it _could_ create the Kitty Cookie. Even more compelling if this cookie had a higher state of leverage on Pinkie's life. I'm sorry. I can't agree with this.

Run, run, as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread cat!

Can I ask you a question? A specific one?
Magic is everywhere, in chaos, in friendship, and even in day to day events like cooking.
I'd probably be taken aback (a bit of shoked & surprised at the same time), to find out that something I never thought of/ never cconsidered to be alive before to actual be alive, though if given enough time I'd probially come to acept it, even though I do believe that anything is possible, I'd still probially be taken aback a bit to find out that it's alive.

i dont know why but im laughing at this because the living one is oblivious to whats really happening

COOKIE CAT
THE PET FOR YOUR TUMMY
COOKIE CAT
*THEY'RE SUPER DUPER YUMMY*
ImpossibleDreamer-Mythical Beast really?
Ok first i have to say the first part of the story was like ponyville cookie massacre but it was a really sweet story and i liked it alot.

why i love the idea of this storyu myself i cant see pinkie pie being this heartless after the cookie started running away
That'll explain why my things keep falling of my shelf XD
great, now i can no longer eat any shaped cookies again :c
hey think you could talk about the currency? seems a bit weird they take both bits and jewels
i thought that was supposed to be dr wolf in the dress
Once again you make my day o3o
George Takei (on “Third Rock from the Sun”): Oh, my!

This is so awkward for me. Being a baker, I'm with Pinkie Pie, but with the Kitty cookie, I want it to live. I'm so confused!
sentient cookie I wonder what they eat for a snack when they're hungry.
Lorrie Miller they eat cookies *dramatic noises*
I doubt this would be an actual episode, think about it unless they didn't say the other cookies weren't alive this could scar a couple of children...

Yup...stopping at 10. cant do this >< Sorry Doc, great reading, but the idea of something like this knowing it is alive makes my stomach churn >//
animewisher No, it's okay! The story has a good ending. You can listen to the rest of it.
Natasha Arendt ....don't know if I trust... I just ended a series that may take a few years to get a 3rd season, I don't need more heartbreak today >
animewisher As the writer who originally wrote this fiction, I give you my personal assurance that it ends well for all involved.
wait a minute I'm confused about this video and another one
Your videos are great , doktor
So what you want is for your followers to never sleep again, is that right? D:
WHAT IF WE ARE ALL COOKIES, STRUGGLING TO ESCAPE A HUNGRY CREATOR?
I learned in science class that living things consume food, grow and reproduce. If Kitty cookie didn't do at least one of these things then it isn't alive. Let Pinky eat.

I think the story you're referring to is the Velveteen Rabbit? It was one of my favorite bedtime stories back when I was real little :3
Pinkie Pie is an angry god! Or, well, hungry.
