Am finding these days Simon, spending more viewing hours watching well produced videos on U-tube like this than the "pap" mainstream T. V. is serving up. Keep up the good work. 👍
Very good video really enjoyed watching it , we have them here in Wicklow , I spent many cold nights during the pandemic in 21 to get a good foto of these fantastic little creatures, they really are beautiful to watch , anyway well done , that was worth the long drive .
Yes mate! Buzzing for you after all the hours you’ve put in 👍🏻 Not had the chance to photograph them yet but after watching this I don’t think it will be long! Great video pal 😊
Simon, hello. We have been offline for more than two weeks now, but travelling back south from the Durham/N Yorks Moors area came across your video post. Great work, loved the Pine Marten, and the location should be excellent for potential viewers, with or without instruction. Good luck to you and all who follow. J&A&B&T
Superb footage of the Red Squirrel and Pine Martins - no wonder you were so pleased and the placing of the perches was well worth it. It was great advice about the cut ends of perches. I must admit, I fell foul of that when I first started out doing wildlife photography, it can totally destroy a decent image of your subject. The new hide looks great but that pod looks absolutely awesome.
Many years ago I stayed in a remote cottage in Scotland. On the window ledge outside the cottage we were told if you put an egg or some other food Pine Martens will come and if you are still and lights out watch them through the window . To my delight we were visited by one or two every night and from the comfort of the sofa , just the other side of the window we watched from inches away while these amazing animals came to feed.
Beautiful captures Simon. I purchased one of your bean bags a year or two ago and took it to Kenya this June. I loved it, it helped to stabilize my Z9 and 400mm 4.5, got a few compliments. Thanks for Great video and congratulations on getting your pine martens 🎉
@@simoneardley Hi Simon, I love the Z9, I actually have two of them. My husband got one but his lights wouldn’t work so I kept it as my back up. I only wish it was a little lighter to carry. I have always loved my 500pf even before the Z9 so that was my Z9 lens of choice. (Even though I had purchased the 400mm 4.5z lens.) The 500pf had to go to the shop, I was devastated, then I remembered I could get the 400mm 4.5z out of the box and use it in the mean time. Well I absolutely love that lens with the 1.4z TC. That combo lives on the Z9; my 500pf was back from the Nikon shop in about two weeks and haven’t even used it. Awesome lens and a bit lighter than the 500pf. Looking forward to your next video!
Found your vlog a few weeks ago Simon and it's an inspiration. You put the hours in but always look like you're having the time of your life. Great images and love the nod to Eric & Ernie too. Would be interested in finding out where you found the hen harriers on Mull as I was there in April but no luck. Got some great white tailed eagle and otter shots but back next June so fingers crossed. Any advice would be appreciated. Keep up the great videos.
Congratulations. There is no words left to say because you use up the whole dictionary in how you felt lol. I did not know we had animals as cute as that in Britain. Here I am in my MotorHome August 1st 2023. Here I am at Lochetive not far from where you were. Amazing video it’s 12:30 and I am watching this. I will be up at 9am heading back to Preston where I work thinking all about this lol. Thanks for sharing Ray K UK 🇬🇧 YNWA.

Pine Martens are just the most wonderful creature to film and photograph. We have some in Wales and I have been lucky to video and photogtaph some over the last 5 years or so. Loved your video and thank you. Will hopefully see some in Scotland later in the year 🤞
Absolutely magical! A pine marten comes visiting our terrace around 8:30 almost every evening here in western Germany. Such a gorgeous animal, so graceful.
