Stoked to see the meetings being recorded and posted publicly. I know that even being in attendance, I often get caught up in what's going on in the chat and miss what's being said by those speaking. Thank you again for what you've done and continue to do Tyler, and those helping you. It's so important to the revitalization of our union and of the labor movement at large!
This was so encouraging. Didn't get a chance to get on yesterday to be a part of the zoom, but im so happy it was recorded so I can watch. 9 year carrier out of Mount Olive, IL Br. 1196 ✌️
So what exactly will happen with these rallies and petitions? What am I missing? When you talk about resolutions, what are those? Local votes ? What exactly will that do if National doesn’t acknowledge? I’m not anti anything mentioned here, I just am missing how this will become anything aside from noise. Especially since contract talks are ongoing already. There doesn’t seem to be a way to make a change prior to THIS contract.
The resolution we discussed at the meeting is the Open Bargaining resolution. It’s calling for transparency and regular updates during negotiations, and for the need for organized public rallies across the country before the start of negotiations to highlight our demands, mobilize the membership behind them, and win public support in order to build leverage and put pressure on USPS. The idea is we need a new approach to contract negotiations, because the current one isn’t working. The resolution has been passed by 38 NALC branches and two NALC state associations so far. It’s being proposed at the National Convention this August, and if voted for will become official policy of NALC regarding contract negotiations in the future.
I would like to represent branch 5996 in aurora colorado. But i am being silenced by my union president and vice president as well as my shop steward and table 1 carriers. I am 100% for all letter carriers, but aurora seems to want to keep their mouth shut and their heads down. This is not right!
Listening from Pennsylvania new cca just driving llv and walking 14 miles in 90 degrees, management harrasment be back in 3 -4 hours so you can deliver a part of another route! Just aweful for $19.33
Can someone explain to me like a 5th grader the table 1 & table 2 differences and how they are categorized between carriers? What and how would it benefit changing it to one? Thanks
Basically, if you were hired before Jan 12, 2013 you are table 1, after that date you are table 2. Step A for table one salary is $62,078 a year with out OT for a carrier and $63,382 for a T-6. Table 2 for step A is $46.038 and T6 is $47,005. Hope that makes sense.
Why would they care if mail still being delivered why should they rush negotiation we need to strike so they can finally take us seriously cause nobody aint listening if ur just doing rally n getting signature means nothing to the upper ups
