The best technique ever tho was his own ko loss lol. People said fluke but in the rematch Lima was razor close to landing it again

Watching MVP talk about his technique makes him so much scarier as a striker. Alot of times it feels like he is just lucky but knowing how he is setting these things up and baiting the attacks, amazing.
FYI anyone in the ufc or any other major promotion isn’t their because of luck. They’re all extremely skilled fighters.

@@theKashConnoisseur That wasn't luck, that was him being a draw. Anyone that can get people to watch can do most things they want.
The attaching strings segment was so good I never thought of feints like that but it’s such a good way to organize feints to an opponents counter in your mind really loved that concept

I remember meeting MVP a couple years back and asked him how he sets up shots, he told me the EXACT same thing about “attaching strings”. Imagine the smile on my face when he said it to Wonderboy 😭
Those spin kicks were so graceful that I almost forgot how destructive those are

What a wholesome duo there. Love their interactions of explaining a move then being able to act them out. MVP beaming when Wonderboy hits that sweet pause.
I literally saw one adesanya highlight reel and then one venom page highlight reel and I have been hooked on MMA since.
dope. it was a melvin manhoef highlight reel that got me into mma. a dynamic striker's highlight reel is literally insane.

That attaching strings bit is brilliant
"The car crash" effect is one of those things that point fighting karatekas are absolutely masters at. My favorite example is Machida vs Bader. Machida kept Bader at a huge distance while frustrating him with zippy in-and-out blitzs, and eventually Bader rushed in to eat a perfectly timed gyaku-zuki that flattened him. It's worth noting that this was at LHW, where Bader was huge for the division, while Machida weighed in _under_ the 205 limit at around 201 lbs, which meant he was basically a MW fighting a HW... but that car crash made all the difference.
That was so brutal. I'm surprised Bader's career recovered after that, to be honest.
@DatingMatis156 He actually did VERY well vs Jones. Jones lost round 1, and it took awhile for Jones to adapt. He is a phenomenal fighter, and indeed he adapted, but he was indeed in trouble for awhile in the 1st round, no doubt.
@DatingMatis156 He actually was the first person to really tag Bones,dude is such phenom that he adjusted but was def having trouble in that first round.
Unfortunately for Machida, Jones used the same technique on him that dropped him and eventually opened that opportunity for a nasty choke. Jones has studied him well.
My goodness. I couldn't stop smiling the whole time watching this. MVP is one of the most terrifying fighters I've seen, and he comes across in this as INSANELY nice and supportive. Also, as noted below, his ability to explain what he does is remarkable. It makes me happy to see the two of you having so much fun with this- thanks for another GREAT lesson!

This was incredible. The terminology MVP uses, like "attaching strings" and "car crash", perfectly describe what he's talking about to the point a child could understand it. The way he then breaks it down point by point, dude is a hell of a teacher. God I would love to see him in the UFC. The fights that could be made there would be incredible.

MVP is one of the greatest martial artists i've ever watched. I'll never understand why he never came to the UFC, but that man is a force of nature.
They probably treat him well in his promotion enough to not have the tru reason to fight in ufc plus he may want his name to be the greatest amongst balloter history
It's much easier to look amazing when you're fighting lesser competition.

What an awesome breakdown of some unorthodox techniques being used in actual fights. I love this content.
That knee strat convo was super interesting. MVP is discussing using it defensively, "post-feint"; getting the reads, luring the opponent into close range THEN firing off the flying knee based on their response. Knowing that, while he's throwing it, he's in a decently defensive position. Just using the jump, he can kind of safely train in in sparring as well. It's a different way of thinking about the tech; fascinating guy.

One of my mates trained in London Shootfighters with "Venom" , he said he had been the most helpful person in the gym, he gave some hints, he was kind too.

The Harlem Globetrotter of MMA! Michael Venom Page! Such a fan. Was so excited when he finally signed with UFC. Was like a beautifully wrapped gift for mma fans & especially me, a long time fan & appreciator of slick, incredibly fast paced trickery & MVP in action.
It’s just a shame Michael wasn’t able to get into the UFC earlier in his career. He’s a talent for sure and im positive the UFC or even ONE FC would’ve made him evolve his style

MVP is the scariest modern day striker imo. the OG being cro cop. but MVP strikes are so fast and powerful and the damage hes done to people is crazy and for his size too. i will watch MVP everytime he fights
MVP is good but the scariest? Guy has barely fought seasoned opponents and the one time he actually fought a good guy he got slept by Lima 💀

Not sure how I missed this Little video both guys are absolute class acts must see tv and just solid dudes through and through… I have been clamoring to see MVP prove the haters and nay sayers wrong by signing with the UFC and having well deserved success and we finally got him and he passed his UFC debut with flying colors, which is exactly what I thought he would do despite not being a spring chicken anymore but I love both of these warriors Stephen Thompson and Michael Page and wish them all the best in their remaining MMA careers and in life. 🙏 and ✊ to you both!!!
