Nice catch and thanks for sharing. I really like the colors of the CANADIAN NATIONAL locomotives. Thanks again and viewing from the 1st state of Delaware.
Nice! I don't remember seeing 75I's before. Hard to tell them from the "M" but they are very cool! You have some of the best long shots - watching that manifest snake up and down on the rails and then the tank cars! *pow* All great action here :)
They are unique, exactly for the reason, @Stephen Roberts mentions. The cab is isolated from the body (that's the "I" in SD75I) to reduce vibrations in the cab. The separation line between cab and nose is clearly visible. I definitely like this long shot of Z195 comping up and down the hill, too. It was very windy on that day, so long shots were even more challenging than usual.
When I was little we lived in tolono Illinois. A small town just south of Urbana. I remember the crossings and trains looked just like this. It was an Illinois central line in those days.
Nice Catches MB practically here in my backyard. Nice to see the ole IC Districts on the Tube. Long time subscriber here. Enjoyed it a lot. & There's no other sound like an old or new cast P5 Nathan.😎
Very cool. I'm glad you like the look into your backyard :) We don't get much CN here in GA, so it's always great to see them on their on rails (or IC's, for that matter).
Ok MB you have definitely out done yourself with this one. I have been keeping up with all of your videos, but haven"t had a lot of time to commit. This one, I mean 4 (SD75i) units all CN, if you were able to catch all of these in the same day, I truly hope you stopped somewhere to buy lottery tickets. I would like to see just 1, let along 4. Great job MB as always. SIDE NOTE: strange looking horizontal signals going into Harrison Yard, I can't say I've ever seen those before ???
Thanks very much; I'm happy you enjoyed it. I know, catching these SD75Is is cool, but I have seen them frequently whenever I catch a CN train anywhere. I don't know, maybe it's just luck :) These were certainly yard signals. This spot was right at the north end of CN's Harrison Yard.
Nice catches! I especially liked the gp38 chase and the sd70m-2 trains. For the gp38 chase, was that footage color graded or was that just really nice weathering on the locomotive? Fantastic video! Also, the next video looks good!
This was a fun day out there, for sure. No, I do not manipulate colors in my shots. I do occasionally adjust the brightness. Great you enjoyed watching it!
Good point. I don't know why he didn't have buffer cars. The hazard placard 1993 is for flammable liquids, so one would think he should have had some protection. Maybe someone familiar with the matter knows an answer.
The Canadian locomotives are pretty far from home in Mississippi. I like the new locations. We can see the trains from both directions. I was curious and looked up the last location (Prospect St) in Google maps. That place is far from downtown and the skyscrapers that's for sure. This is another excellent video, I really enjoyed it. Did you go to a Memphis Grizzlies game? :P
Yeah, but it's nice they go that far south. I always like watching CN. True, the CN Harrison Yard is already in a suburban area, but Memphis isn't really a big city yo begin with. No, on trips like this there's rarely any time for anything else than railfanning :)
127,200 total TH-cam competitive railfanning points awarded. Key bonus captures: SD75i's, horn salutes, signal aspects, high ballin local / chase, total graffiti lol, videoing the crew lol, ex-IC Geep, CR fallen flag autoracks.
You have a very good eye for those details. However, I miss the points for the red marker light on the DPU of that crude oil train ;-) One doesn't see this on other railroads.
I turned the volume all the way up for that first one, cause I couldn't hear the horn, and when the train got closer, my ears got blasted. Nice.
Lol :)

You're very welcome! Greetings back to the Very 1st State :)
The Engineer waved in the 1st train! Cool to see that for once!
Oh yes, they often do it. I cannot always capture it, though.
Great video, nice to see CN on the old I.C.rails.
Thanks! Good you enjoyed it this one, too, Mike.
Great video. Love all the explanations on what trains are and what locos are what. You’re camera shots are so clear and realistic!
Yes, sometimes it's necessary to give some explanation as to what is going on. Otherwise it's getting confusing. Good you enjoyed the video!
@@mbmars01 you’re welcome!

Look for the "isolation line" in the nose of the cab. That's the easiest way to spot the difference, such as 15:45 on CN 5644

@@stephenroberts4895 Wow. I haven't put too much work into telling all the SD7x locomotives apart but how did I not see that before?
@@mbmars01 I bet that is a nice feel for the crew :)
@@stephenroberts4895 Excellent! Thank you for the information - I see it now :)

Right, many details on this line still remind one of the IC, too.
Awesome video man, love the CN paint scheme
Good you like it!
Thanks for posting. I've always been a fan of CN
You're welcome!
Nice videos those cn oil trains are a long way from home , we see them being loaded here in western canada
Thanks! And with the KCS merger, they would even run to Mexico...
Great production! Love that CN scheme!
Cool, thanks!
Excellent as always. Keep you up the great work. Stay safe.
Thanks, stay safe, too!
Great video 🚄🚄👍
Thanks!
Nice video! I love the change in scenery! You make good videos!
Thanks! Of course, I agree. It's always good to have a different backdrop and a different angle at railroading. Great you like the videos!

@@mbmars01 If Southern didn't buy the C of G in the 1960s, Frisco would have. Alternate time line: We would have a BNSF in GA lol.
... and if so there would now truly be a transcontinental railroad that deserves this name.
Excellent video
Thanks!
Great catches
Thanks!
Well done video . Excellent camera work. Notice the tank train didn't have a buffer hopper ???
Thanks very much! I know, I was wondering, too. CN style...
Great stuff. Are there any consistent times that these trains head through Marks and Lambert? Plan on shooting some stuff that way.
I would think the most consistent trains are Q194/Z194 (morning/midday) and Q195/Z195 (afternoon).
Terrific catches! Terrific video!
Great you like it!
@@mbmars01 Your Welcome!
I ❤️ the sound tankers make
Me too! Unit trains usually make great sounds.
Slosh, slosh, slosh lol
Your intro looks like a model train convention.
Lol, I know. When I recently watched it, I thought the same :)
Love that flat trackwork

Great vidéo 👍
Cool, thanks!
What that a compressor car on that first train? Nice catch if it was.
I think this is an inspection car that monitors track conditions. CN has been experimenting with this technology for some time.
That crude oil train had no buffer car(s)..interesting.
I also found this unusual.
I have heard that the buffer hopper is no longer required on trains with 2 or more engines up front . Anyone know for sure the current regs???

Strange to not see any buffer cars on a crude train.
I was wondering about that too.

@@mbmars01 yeah I have no clue how the regulations work. Where I live they still run buffers and typically use a 3/2 front/rear DPU set up.

Wow, that's a big raise for just one light :)
@@mbmars01 The average bonus points is about 3,000 for something relatively unique / rare lol
I'll keep that in mind lol
What’s that first car out on the first train? Definitely a modified boxcar but I couldn’t get a good enough look to tell what purpose it serves.
I think it's one of the new CN track inspection cars.
What is the music for your intro called
Sorry, I forgot. It's been a while since I made the intro. I took it from the TH-cam Audio Library.
How many trains hit the Yazoo per day?
My guess is about 15 on a good day (when some of the unscheduled unit trains run).
why Canadian National always so looooooooong?
Longer train, fewer crews - saves money. Almost all railroads are going that way currently.
@@mbmars01 wow.... so those crews get a lot of money. haha
The cost for personnel running the trains is certainly one component in their books railroads monitor closely.
@@mbmars01 how did you know about that.... 😂
Well, expenses for personnel are a major cost factor in all industries. Each company tries "to make more [money] with less [personnel]".
Constantly moving camera around only seeing 50 percent of the train
Yep, that's how I do it and like it :)
Nice !
Thanks! Great you liked it.
