If link had been completely transformed at the start of the game it would fix one of my biggest gripes with totk as a whole, that side characters don't recognize you, despite having done quests for almost all of them.
Your close allies would either recognize your spirit, or maybe purah sends a message confirming it's actually you, but side characters would have no way of knowing, fixing the issue

It annoys me how most of Tarry Town don’t seem to respond to Link as someone they know considering he literally invited them to move there and helped build the town. Especially that Zora priest guy who’s known Link for hundreds of years
Why does this mod have to make link so freakin adorable and cute! I love it so much but i do wish it atleast stuck with the red hair.

This looks amazing! And the fact that he has Mineru's secret stone makes me wish he was the Sage of Spirit. I mean, Link is the 5th champion, and Mineru is the 5th sage. Perfect.
Amd there is no one to inherit Minerus stone. So why not link?

The idea of Link getting to keep Mineru's secret stone is so sweet to me actually! It makes a good degree of sense too, since the New Sages and Zelda (presumably) got to keep their stones.
It would have been really cool if Link had to forms in the game, a Zonai form and his human form. The Zonai form is what allows you to use the abilities, while human Link lets you interact with the characters normally. I do think that Link's horns should be a little more unique, but I LOVE that they glow! Makes me kind of wish that Zelda kept some of her Light Dragon features in her human form.
WAIT! What if Link's sage power allows him to transform into his Zonai form?
Gotta love how a modder makes it look better than what Nintendo has done.
I wonder if there's a mod for Zelda to keep some dragon aspects when she reverts back into her hylian self.
I doubt it, that's pretty hyper specific, she's only seen in a single cutscene post dragon

I dig the headcanon behind this, but tbh I wish the horns weren't an exact copy of the Light Dragon's horns. Each dragon has unique horns, and even Rauru did not have full horns (he *had* horns, 4 of them, but they were more like just sharp nubs on his head, not full horns like the dragons), so IMO Zonai-Link's horns should also be unique. Maybe mirroring the shape of the hilt of the Master Sword or with a design that mirrors the green "braiding" on the grip
Also I never wore the Ancient Hero's Aspect either. I wore it once just to see what it looked like, then took it off and never looked back

I read a post somewhere where someone pointed out the parallels between the light dragon's horns and naydra's horns, and the same with the demon dragon and dinraal
And following that trend I think a dragon or zonai Link might have one horn, similar to how farosh has one horn! Triforce of courage and all that :]
The ears and white marks on the original one were the biggest issue. The white markings going accress the mouth was creepy. And not giving him the big, adorable ears was just a missed opportunity.
As for the red hair, it makes him look too much like Gannon. I know it is supposed to be an homage to the Ancient Hero, but it doesn't quite fit here.
And it would be awesome to be part Zonia throughout the game! Abd make people STILL not reconizing you make more sense.
The ears make sense in the original look imo. The ancient hero is off spring of Sonia and Rauru. He isnt going to look fully Zonai because he isn't. He's half Hylian.
@@TheGirlWhoStoleAStarThe only connection between the ancient hero and the zonai is that they used zonai-made armour. There's no blood relations mentioned and the zonai ended with rauru and mineru

@@matthewboire6843 I think they are actually using a switch emulator and just modded it with that. I don't fully know though, and I don't know how to mod either a switch or a switch emulator, I just assume the emulator would be easier to mod

The "zonai" Link we got was truly a disappointment. I looks more like a human-dog hybrid but mummified than a Zonai based on how we see them in cutscenes. The mod did it so much better. Sad seeing Nintendo drop the ball on these things so hard.
The rest of the game was an absolute banger tho, just want to note while I have complaints I love the game.
@@undefinederror40404that's because this isn't supposed to be a zonai. The aspect is a representation of the hero 10'000 years before BOTW/TOTK, who fought alongside the divine beasts to seal calamity. This was another time in Hyrule's history, where the zonai where long gone and the Sheikah were a people with powerful technology. The clothes were modeled after the tapestry in Impa's house. Admittedly, it's a weird choice to use this reference in TOTK where there's no reference to this conflict, and the emotionless face is kind of disappointing, but it wouldn't make much sense to make the costume a zonai one, since as far as we know, the hero didn't reincarnate as a zonai before the imprisoning war, and the species ended with Rauru and Mineru.
That being said, now that we have canonical proof that there was a reincarnation of the hero who wasn't a hylian, we need a game where Link is another species.
This mod looks so good. I do like the original model despite it not blinking. 😅
But after looking at this, part of me wishes the finalized design was a hybrid of the Zonai mod and the original hero aspects. Since the Zonai are creature-like race with elemental properties, I potentially see it as more inspired by Wolf Link while having the greenish fur and marks of the original.
A cool head-cannon for this design would be Link meets the spirit of the ancient hero that fought the calamity 10000 years ago. He tells Link about his stone, the Tear of Courage, and how its power can only be used by someone with incredible courage; sensing it in him, he gives Link the stone and it allows him to become a Zonai ☺️
Just some food for thought but this mod has lots of potential
Ancient hero aspect looks like a picori, not a zonai. I think we just assume he's zonai. Zonai have large ears. I haven't seen a zonai with a tail.
He also has digitigrade feet, while the Zonai have weirdly human-like legs.
This Mod is well designed! Havibg the expressions makes it so awesome!

I feel that because Rauru and minuru are royals they look different than the everyday zonai. Which is why The ancient hero looks the way he does. Just an average zonai
The zonai were long gone when the ancient hero arised. Ganondorf mentions that Rauru and Mineru are the last of their species, and the ancient hero fights calamity with sheikah technology that we don't even see a bit of in the time of the zonai
@@caihly2443 I like the idea that the Ancient Hero was something completely different. Makes the world feel more expansive when not everything is explained.
The lack of facial expressions is the most jarring thing about The Hero's Aspect the most. This mod does look pretty nice though, it really improves the look of it all.
The horns are cool, but they don't make sense lorewise I think
The secret stone also doesn't make sense for me
And the hair should have stayed red so it would still represent the ancient hero while also being Link
Aside from all of that, it is a really cool mod
To be fair, the sample size of Zonai we got is 2, and the both of THEM are related. I think this looks awesome, but doesn't necessarily make Link look more "Zonai", just more Rauru. I took the look of The Hero's Aspect to infer the Zonai were all of different animal types. Yes, this LOOKS better, but poor Link gets written out of history looking like that, too... 🐈🤷🏽♂️🐩

The ancient hero isn’t necessarily a Zonai or even from the same tribe as Rauru if they were. It’s an interesting mod but the dead stare aside the ancient hero clearly has something else going on
Yeah, Nintendo clearly intended to represent a whole new species we don't know of, and people are ignoring that for some reason
Besides the dead stare, I think one of the problems the ancient hero has are the weird proportions they decided to give him. The head is super tiny if you compare it to Link’s, for example, and the feet look like weird heels because they didn’t want to commit to an actual digitigrade look

I'm still not sure that the ancient hero was meant to be 100% zonai, they were most likely a hybrid.
But the model we got with the ancient hero's aspect definitely just looks like a first draft of the character design for the zonai. Overall this mod looks so much better, but there should be an option for the hair to be red
I think the ancient hero was a descendent of Raru and Sonya. That’s why he doesn’t look fully like a Zonai or a human.
Nah rauru and Sonya were the first royals of highrule so theyre actually more likely to be ancestors to Zelda

It is really good mod, that motivated me to complete all the shrines
The creator of this mod has just released a mod of instead just the arm getting replaced, now it's entirely replaced Link as you had thought of. I've been playing around with the mod on a new playthrough, and it is so awesome. Cheers!

always assumed that rauru and mineru were older zonai and the ancient hero represented an average zonai more link's age
My main problem is the thing looks dead it has no expressions at all its just a costume
I like to think that the 3rd eye is open on this modded outfit because it allows Link to use all the abilities we use

Very good-looking mod. It looks like he still has the Ancient Hero’s digitigrade feet and tail, though, which neither Rauru nor Mineru have. If the goal was to make Link a Zonai, those probably should’ve been changed. But that’s a minor nitpick.
The mod creator made a new Zonai Link mod that turns Link’s model as a whole into a Zonai and not just the Ancient Hero’s Aspect. I am working on the video now and it will be out in the next couple of days!

Everything about this mod is AMAZING and I have to wonder why the original developers didn't go this route instead of the dead looking abomination that we got ingame...

It would have been WAY better if the aspect was just a chest piece that changed your whole look. But, you can still equip other armor on your head or feet and it won’t change your look. That would be way better
The idea of a fully zonai link with different armors sounds dope, you should see the wolf link mod which does that same idea but with wolf link
The ancient heroes aspect is really weird anyway. He's from the battle with the calamity 90,000 years after the Imprisoning war, is from the "ancient warrior tribe" Zonai in botw, but is given to you upon completion of all shrines which were made 100,000 years ago
My theory is before Minerus body dies and she has to place her spirit in the Purah Pad she creates the hero's aspect or asks her Steward bots to make them, because she probably has a lot of those bots and there obviously was a period of time before major masses of land were lifted into the sky
Edit: As for the hero being a Zonai tho a lot of people theorized he's actually a cousin to the Zonai (basically under the same species of people just a different race) like the Lomei who resided in the depths or is a just a lower class, more average Zonai who also resided in the depths
I love this mod but the only thing they forgot to change is his feet because rauru and minru are zonai but they do not have that kinda feet

While I do agree that this looks better and more like the Zonai we know, I definitely think the Ancient Hero's design differences have an intentional aspect to it that they never got into, lore-wise. Part of that is intentional; mystery created intrigue. There's definitely a reason the ancient hero looks so different... And there are various things we know about the Zonai from the game's own lore. They kind of died off after Rauru's and Mineru's sacrifices. But obviously, we know that Sonic and Rauru had to have had a child before their deaths (because Zelda is eventually descended from them), and consideing that union was between a Human and a Zonai, the resulting child would have traits from both. We also know that Gerudo tend to have red hair and that's always been something that took my interest with the ancient Hero. While it may not ever be confirmed, I think there's a mix between Hylian, Zonai and Gerudo lineage in the Ancient Hero's blood, hence him looking the way he does.
One thing that the TOTK team also missed out on doing was also adding some lore about the Ancient Hero.
I think the only time Link rides Zelda is when he mounts her dragon form.

It’s a really cool mod. And I say this as someone who doesn’t really like the designs of the Zonai in general. Now I need this same modder to go back and mod some expressions onto Mineru.

The third eye should generally be closed. The other zoni we see rarely open theirs.
Perhaps they could have had it closed, but it opens when he’s in a fighting stance.
it would've been cool if the mod made his hair yellow instead of white but otherwise that's waaay much better looking ancient hero's armor rendition then the eyesore we originally got. I mean it doesn't even look like a zonai anyway
this makes me wish the next zelda game link transforms into a zonai or at the very least transform into zora or the rito becouse it would be awesome if he somehow for any reason become one of the people as i do love the transformation magic in majora's mask or in the game i don't remember at the moment he transform into a wolf forcefully at first

Considering how the Ancient Hero wasn't even a true Zonai, I prefer the regular version because I like lore accurate things. I'm a game theorist at heart. But besides all that, if the lore were different, I would love this mod. Even I can accept that Link looks amazing in this mod.
Its pretty sick, if a little bit busy design-wise. But it definitely feels more consistent with the other zonai - though I think I actually prefer the eerie original ancient heroes aspect
I get that the ancient hero’s aspect is supposed to be a zonai mixed with a human but like, why does he look like that, it would’ve been so much better if they put more details and expressions, yk since you have to complete 50% of the game to get it

there is a mod im using where it turns link into an anthro wolf link and u can wear most of the armor sets for him. XD
and yes there is a mod that makes u play thru the game using zonai link, the creator made it so u can do that for the newest 1 they released
I'd try to make it so that Soldier and Captain Constructs wouldn't attack Link while he's wearing the AHA, if I could code.

Well, it's official. Link has become a FURRY! /j All joking aside this is an incredible mod, and i'd also love to see it being a pure replacement of Link's model. Rauru giving Link both his arm plus the Zonai secret stone of Spirit which turns him INTO a Zonai is like. The coolest headcanon ever, and god Link just looks so cute as a Zonai

I also thought AHA would have been infinitely better as a Link model replacer than an armor that occupies all 3 slots. Perhaps by making it a toggleable key items like the sage powers.

the anceint hero looks like they gave up halfway while working on it, it's likely it was a beta design for the zonai, which makes kinda sad.
The head canon doesn't make sense. The stone doesn't grant power. It amplifies just one power that you already have. The stones also changes its purpose. Zeldas stone was light with rauru and when she picked it up, it changed to time. Ganondorfs stone was time with Sonia then changed to whatever his symbol was.
