3/10/24..Reon, very smooth GroveCrane pic 2day on home site in hilly area, power lines over target oak tree all during your Wisconsin snow season. Its ~50°F waay down here in New Orleans area as we are beginning to thaw out from our 3-4 days of 30° Winter weather.
Your closing comments, announced by daughter Ruby, was priceless! Sooo nice to see & hear many of you YT guys including your kids in your videos....from a 78 yr old Pawpaw (7 G-kids) it is absolutely wonderful to see & hear you use your kids in your work related videos...gotta give kids a boost in their (most important) self-confidence! So even if you did not use your crane, much enjoy your use of compounding your kids development not only by the occasional cameo (when beautiful wife brings lunch) but also have them narrate the closing🎉😊 A+ Reon, you are doing waaay more than just cutting down trees, your are >Growing< our country's next well rounded citizens..ya know...gotta maintain property, have gardens...& hire a tree service to tame these ever growing trees!😊💪

As a NCCCO crane operator, I enjoyed watching the setup and love your Grove! As a journeyman lineman, I did notice that the wire in question appears to be a span guy, not an energized primary. Below is the secondary and communication cables. But better to error on the side of caution!

Incredibly interesting to watch this kind of stuff and that includes Reon's commentary which makes it more understandable and more interesting.
The missing counter weight bolts is a drag, considering what you have to do to compensate for it after committing to $1M+ on the crane. It would seem that your Grove vendor could have been a little more proactive in having the crane completely ready for sale and/or world class service after the sale to get the necessary missing pieces to you.

I've been waiting to see the new crane at work. Seems like the power company should have hired you while you were there and get those power lines clear. Do you ever contact neighbors at places that might need tree work with the crane in the same position? Would it reduce some costs if a group got together to have work done in several yards from the same setup?

this is why cranes should have those stoppers you used (-all four of.)
I had a crane, had nothing to chock the wheels with even though I had to do the climbing stuff - to get level, the rear riggers sat on as much timber as possible, to get riggers OVER the timbers, had to pack under the rear axle (only a small 25t PPM, crane is probably forty years old or so, it doesn't have the ZF auto, it's got one of those sequential gearbox trransmissions where it manages the clutch itself) Well... when the job were done, it slid back into the scaffolding as soon as the wheels started to take the weight off of the riggers/cribbing, and the angle of the ground wasn't much different from there ...
    Safe lifting!

I would have done the Outrigger Pads Supports Different. They were still at a Downhill Slope vs a Level Pad from what I could see. I would have made a T with the Dunnage Timbers…and then put the Round Outrigger Pads on top of the T Patterned Dunnage to Level Out the Outrigger Support Area. It’s hard to explain the Pattern that I would have put the Dunnage in Words typing it out….but a T Pattern with first layer running opposite direction of the crane and then the next layer on top of that that is running in the direction with the crane and only resting on the first layer of dunnage on one end to make it higher on one end….to level it out.

There's a reason housemovers don't pack their cribbing tight, but space them a bit, without losing any bearing strength. I know OSHA says pack it tight, but really? Not a knock, just an observation, from a 20,000 hour plus op. If you don't have a tip of boom HD camera, with a HD 10" monitor in the cab, you should look into it, it is a game changer.
