This is an important lesson we all can learn from. We cannot march into other people's lives and expect them to cater to our every need. We don't like people who constantly try to change us, and we cannot expect them to change for us, either. Two people either learn to live with their differences or move on separately. This is where the term "losing ourselves" comes from. It's when people move too far away from their authentic selves, so it becomes problematic.

Wow, thank you Kenny! I am an old man now, and I wish I knew these things earlier in life. This information could have saved me 3 decades of sadness and confusion.

When you talk about your first marriage, It reminds me of my behavior in mine right now. I really hope and will do my best for it to not end like yours did. I have a strong feeling though, that it might be too late for my awakening.

I am not perfect and you are not perfect but for life that is still perfect with all our flaws and challenges to learn from and become wiser...what you like about your partner to begin with can later on become what you dislike and then want to stop and get away from the person you liked to begin with

No wonder we gravitate towards animals, nature, as double standards is something Nature would never be able to support...
Thanks for telling your own story with SO much clarity...it must have taken SO much brave work from your side!
BTW ..i personally never find anything you say as harsh or offensive...
Maybe because I speak in a similar manner and found myself to offend others only when I was trying to say it as it is!!!
