This song was tricky for me, because Black Hole Sun could just about have been the soundtrack for one of the most painful and difficult periods of my life. It was always on the radio, and I really wanted to like it but the associations were too rough. But VoicePlay's cover has redeemed the song, because it's different enough to be an entirely new experience, but similar enough to retain the elements of the original that I wanted to be able to appreciate in the moment. That's one of the things I love about these guys; they always transform the music they perform into something new and incredible.
Geoff Castelucci just released his new video on his patreon Thursday August 1st. It is absolutely beautiful. A classic from the 1970s. He should be releasing it on TH-cam around August 12th.
I love how they manage to honor the original song while still making it their own. I love this song and they've made it new again and made me love it all over again. ❤
Great reaction and I 💯 agree. I was 14 when sound garden released this song (RIP Chris Cornell) I loved the original and voiceplay not only did this complete justice they still made it their own.
This cover sounds better and better every time I listen to it. The boys go all out, and I know I have said it before, but they just keep getting better and better with each cover they do. I am familiar with the original, and it really does nothing for me, but this is amazing and complicated and just wow. Eli did amazing with the arrangement of this one. Absolutely amazing! Great reaction!
A missed opportunity for an eclipse release? 🤔 Great, as always, like you said. I always get excited when Anthony is featured, because I love his soulful voice.
You know, I always have debates with myself, of our top 3 acapella groups who has the better base singer for many reasons, lowest? Longest sustained notes? Timing? etc etc Tim- Avi- or Geoff? I've came to the conclusion I have to go with Geoff. Not just the fact of how low his subharmonics can go when he sings, but the way he kept the "base-beat" through this entire performance is humanly unexplainable??? I think he just cracked some mortar in the foundation of my house? 👍
@@XiaoVeen Listen to the deep base rhythm through the whole song being done by Geoff, Geoff sings his lyric parts in base, but that background (base rhythm) he keeps. NOT necessarily beat-boxing per say, but with any instrument there is a scale, even percussion, and Geoff did this, maintained this, and went deeper acapella then any base guitar player I've ever played with- and that's been 100's
This is the Friday for great releases. VoicePlay killing it in their usual epic way. Thanks for the early reaction.❤ Tommy J released his cover of Texas Hold'em. He is also killing it in his style. A must see!

I had never heard this song. Didn't matter. Voiceplay rules!!!!!!!
Garjoola. In Italian names the G becomes J if there is an I or E after it. As With Geoff becoming more like Jeff. So Gargiula, it becomes Garjoola.

Do you mean Geoff does beatboxing while singing in this video ? 😶

I enjoyed this song but why acapella in the title of the video ? He doesn't sing acapella.
They are performing acapella.
Oh yes, I didn't even notice 😁
@@XiaoVeen Lol, that shows you how good they are. 😁
