    I liked, commentated and subscribed and you didn't have to ask. Great content, the Kenshi mod scene is the best I've ever known.

    Thank you for making this. I had overlooked or never heard of more than a couple of these mods.

    It's most definitely NOT vanilla related, but one of my personal questionably lore friendly mods that still felt like it fit in was Somewhat Immersive Guns, which adds a kinda sidegrade firearm set alongside crossbows as an option. Many of these are basically scrapguns that wouldn't look too out of place in Fallout 4, but has stuff like the Assassin Pipe or multi-shot weapons, plus some higher-tech weapons found poking around the old skeleton empire. Considering Kenshi is two advanced civilizations deep into post-apocalypse, having guns doesn't seem the most lore-breaking thing but I can see why some people are more for the samurai fantasy.

      IMO, guns don't fit kenshi. We dont know enough about the tech or the planet etc. Per chris himself "earth doesn't exist in this universe". So we can't accurately compare the game to our universe.
      we also can't compare our sense of tech. How would you go from a space faring, massive civilization/exploratory force back to guns after a massive planet scale (assuming it was planet scale) war? You go from EON's ahead of what we know on earth back to...well basically the stone age with your rulers being the only people who even remotely understand how the tech left behind works. and even then they dont know how to manage or repair it, and in some cases, even work it.

      I completely agree gunpowders complete absence for over at least 1000 years with a technologically advanced empire feels really unrealistic especially when we can see the use and understanding of organic chemistry with biofuel refining and the vials of medicine you see in advanced medical kits. No one is using the hydraulics you can find everywhere for pressure cannons for over 1000 years is crazy

      @ivegotbadtaste9181 i mean it depends on how advanced the civilization is. Think about the movie wall-e. Humanity wasnt even that advanced in that movie but they had already forgotten how to do most things due to living on a ship for so long. Same idea but through technological advancement.
      So we have to look at the circumstances. The behemoths did the hardest work like moving land and laying the ground work with skeletons for infrastructure. The skeletons likely fought for the first empire too. Pretty much everything was done under the advisement of the empire meaning that at the very least computers or humans operating computers were what instructed skeletons with new orders. Meaning basic technical skills were lost or were not needed by the vast majority of citizenry. Add a war and major population death and now its not just small technical skills but pretty much everything is failing. The skeletons survived the first war and they try to maintain everything for as long as they can but they dont have the knowledge on how to repair or create new pieces of tech and slowly the largest machines come to a halt. No more new skeletons, no more mass farming tech, stuff fails and explodes as power regulation can no longer be managed. All of a sudden humans and society at large is dealing with massive death, loss of technology and are basically freefalling back to the stone age but then another war. And more history and knowledge is gone. The skeletons that understand industrial equipment are hiding, humans who hate technology are on the rise, greed and slavery are on the rise, hivers arrive and originally theyre just an amorphous hive led by a queen. Technology, society and population in kenshi is still slowly getting back on its feet. The tech hunters are relatively new in the grand scheme of things.

    There's a mod that let's you Chop trees and build a camp, new plants, fertiliser, etc. I think adds a lot to the survival aspect.

    • @genesisdigitalyt
      @genesisdigitalyt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah i thought about including it but imo it adds to much for too little benefit.
