- My Canon printer would not scan and send the file to my computer.
I verified I had the latest printer driver and my cables were connected.
None of the buttons I pushed on my printer would allow me to send a file to my computer.
After almost giving up I went and connected to my printer through my computer
and activated enabling me to scan and save the file to my computer.
While this did not fix the problem it was a simple temporary solution
that only took me a moment to do. If you have checked your cables are
secure and working and you have the latest driver you may want to
try this method if you're printer is not scanning and sending a file to your computer.

You are a legend, spent ages trying to figure this out with driver updates, multiple machines and firewall settings. Thank you for this awesome workaround

@@RobbsHomemadeLife it’s still not 100% working but, at least I know the area to look in. From the first download of the software, it automatically gave me a (copy 1). Have tried several delete and reinstalls but gives me the same result. If I try to print more than 40-50 pages at a time, it takes HOURS. The stitching part of the program still isn’t working. It’s a Canon Pixma TR 4722. Cheap $59.00. Never had much luck with canon. Thanks.

I love my Canon multifunction laser printer/scanner/fax/toaster/vacuum cleaner/whatever, but I too have issues scanning over wifi. Totally different and older machine (2013-ish), but similar issues. And since it's on the other side of the house, when I try to scan to PDF, I'm constantly running back and forth between the computer and printer, trying to avoid it timing out. Could never get it to initiate from the device. The end results are just fine, but getting it done is a huge PITA. I'll cut it some slack though as it has something like 38,000 pages on it, prints just fine on $7.50 generic toner cartridges, and misfeeds maybe once or twice over the course of a case of paper. One of those rare devices where I wish I had bought two of them and put one away on the shelf as a backup.

John, if it has you running back and forth across the house maybe it has a physical therapy application you weren't aware of when you purchased it.😃 it sounds like a great printer. I know what you mean about wishing you had purchased more of an item. The prices have gone up on them tremendously.

I had a problem with my HP printer. I fixed it with a sledge hammer 😄
I never understood why anyone would need a huge big ass hammer while on a sledge. On the other hand, we did not have a lot of sledges growing up in Miami. How in the heck did a big hammer become a sledgehammer? That sounds like a topic for another TH-cam video.😃

The sledge hammer is for freeing the frozen hooves of reindeer when stuck to the ground restricting flight. You wouldn’t know about that as alligators are used in the deep south.

I’m having sort of the opposite problem. My computer won’t see the printer. I’ve used every cuss word I know.
Brad, if you have checked your cables and drivers see if you can find anyone having a similar problem in one of the forums by doing Google searches. If you find an answer it can be the topic of a very profitable video.

My Canon D570 had stopped scanning, I kept seeing "processing data" even though the document didn't get scanned. My photocopy & document printout worked fine. I had a low toner warning but I ignored it because my printouts looked ok. I had un-installed & re-installed my printer drivers 3 times, searched TH-cam on how to make a reset back to factory settings (found a couple of options) but my scanner feature still wouldn't work. Well, I finally ended up changing out my toner cartridge, it had reached the point where I had to, and a total surprise - my scanner started to work normally again! I have no idea why my cartridge being low on toner would affect the scanning feature, it doesn't make any sense at all to me since toner is not used while scanning.

Hi! I have a HP printer that's getting old. Maybe I'll switch it out for a Canon. I do like the CMYK values better than one color cartridge. A little more expensive but I don't mind, I guess it's the Graphic Designer in me, haha. Have a good day Robb!

My canon printer only shows the printer management and the support tab when I open the device and printers it doesn’t show to print or to scan manually. Do you have any idea what else I can do?
Gina, when I go into my settings to access printers. I am given an option to click on to the printer connected to my computer. After clicking I can access other options. I am using a PC and not a Mac. There might be other places on your computer to access your printer and find the menu selection you need. Sorry I can't be of much help.
same issue but when i open printer under devise management, i see printer and it checked but when i click on it i dont see scanner management or any other management , so are you saying every time you want to scan you need to do this ?? HELP me if possible thanks ~~

If all else fails, just like cruising the Home Depot lot for day labor, you can now cruise the public libraries for out of work scribes (if you don’t mind cursive.) You may want to go more natural with Assyrian or Sumerian scholars , stylus and clay tablets . Once your clay “pamphlets” are fired, you could broadcast them with a catapult.
Warning! Never ever ever store your papyrus files and Clay folders in the Claude. They always tell you the Claude is the best place to store your papyrus files and Clay folders but whenever you try to get them back Claude has no idea where they are at. Maybe Alexandria Claude says. Maybe Thebes or Mogadishu. Claude has no idea.

My printer stops printing and sends a message that the feeder tray is open.
It takes two hands to hold it shut and shove the paper in one sheet at a time.
Luckily I only need it to print my tax forms.
Someday I will take it on a drive in mountains and leave the gun and take the
cannolli.
Hey, make sure you claim the printer on your taxes. Always write it off before you rub it out.
