Especially 9:23 it looks nothing like what the video did. Video's swiss roll with mousse and that had more of a sticky toffee pudding look to the outside.
I love Jasser explaining how GBBO works to Brandon. Especially when Brandon was surprised at how the contestants cheer for each other and Jasser was just like "Yeah, of course" because the comaderie between contestants is such a big part of what makes the show great.
They didn''t show enough of Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig
I didn't watch baking shows until I saw GBBO. It is because how the contestants interact with each other. If they need help you see them rush to help. When someone gets cut they are obviously upset. Great show.
Glad they were able to eat and enjoy without having to worry about a punishment.
On the other hand, some of those looked like they were made by someone who really didn’t know how to cook/decorate.
I MUCH prefer this to the "try not to eat" challenge! It's nice to just see people enjoy food without getting stressed out!

That's just baking in general, tbh. There's a reason it's one of the hardest culinary jobs out there. Baking is a very exacting science and getting it just right is not easy at all. That's why box stuff is so popular, someone already did the science part for you. lol

Being from Britain and a fan of The Great British Bake Off myself, I loved this episode of react. Although I was a little disappointed to see that some of the cakes you had made didn’t look that presentable!
A good baker could make it look very similar, lots of these looked terrible or even burnt.

I think they didn't like a lot of the pastries because FBE did not follow the recipes either correctly or just couldn't do it.

The contestants are SO supportive of each other and help each other out with bakes. Everyone thinks it's a relaxing show but it's NOT, it's one of the most stressful things to watch.
I mean compared to other cooking shows, this shows is really supportive and the judges doesn't throw the food straight to the dumpster, and the contestant doesn't paid to knock each other down. It's probably the most wholesome cooking shows other than those masterchef junior. Some cute kids cooking is so wholesome too
I'm surprised to find no one in the comments about Ashby saying "I was waiting for it to be like FFTHWOOP" and then 2 minutes later Brittany drops the cake... "Aww it's so CUTE"... 😱😰😭 (not so cute now) ...that was HILARIOUS!! 🤣💀

I am sorry, but who made this re-created foods? Just because they are amateur on the GBBO you don't need to use amateurs to re-create them. You could see that some of them were just wrong and even got stale.

I feel like the great thing about bake off is also the fact that it‘s so drama free! Like obviously the bakers get stressed out and upset when thungs don‘t go to plan, but everyone is hugely supportive pf each other and they all genuinely support each other. Even the critique is (for the most part) comstructive criticisim and hugely educational. I‘ve learnt so much about baking simply by watching the show…

Its even more dissapointing that the FBE chef is a professional, and all the bakers on the GBBO are "amateurs". That really says something :/

I don't think it's the chef's fault. They should've hired someone with experience, they probably just used someone who works with cooking, not making desserts.

The best thing about bake off is the family created amongst all the contestants. It's soo fun to see their lives after the tent and how everyone is involved in each others
As a British person who has ALWAYS watched and loved bake off, I was sooo excited when I saw this🤩🤩
Also if anyone is watching the current bake off series can we just agree that Henry is the cutest bean to ever exist and should be protected🥰

I've watched literally every season and episode of The Great British Cooking show and I can say for a fact that they put the least scrumptious desserts to feature on this episode.
I dont think Paul Hollywood would be giving a handshake to the chef in this episode

I'm not sure why you'd attempt these if you didn't think your chefs could get at least close. It's meant to be us hearing their opinions on the food but what they are served in most cases is nothing like the food from GBBO.

You should get then to try not to eat challenge. You should have the new series of the Great British Bake Off for the challenge. There have been so many bakes that I think all the generations would definitely want to eat. As someone who is from Britain I am so happy that this shows exists cuz I do love baking and I think this show really amazing with people at different ages and talents and skills with baking.
I'm portuguese and I can say that those pastéis de nata doesn't look nothing like the normal...

Unfortunately none of these things were actually baked by the contestants, therefore they are unlikely to be as good.
WHY do people keep picking up cakes like that? I see it all the time on fail army, why do they think it isn't going to slide off the plate?! there is no other plate of food you would ever pick up and tip sideways because you know it's going to fall off! WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP DOING IT WITH CAKE?!

Although there have been some snarky comments made by some of the bakers throughout the show's 10 seasons. And I love Kim Joy! She is one of my favorite bakers! She is such a sweetie and very talented. I love GBBO! Mom and I watch it on Netflix. She's as obsessed with it as I am! 😂 And those recreations of the different bakes from the show, looked horrible. There, I said it.

I don't think they have to look the same per se. The swans followed Prue's recipe though they are different from the clip. The pastry w the custard that was burnt was def tragic though

I don't think the FBE chef is a baker. Bakers just have a unique set of skills that other cooks don't. Baking is very precise and requires a lot of attention to detail.
Besides, I'm sorry, but it's very clear the desserts the reactors were served were nowhere as near as beautiful or perfect as the one's made in the show.
Yeah, as a baker I was a little offended at what they were served lol. They should've hired an actual pastry chef/baker for this one.
yeah the pate a choux on the swan looked subpar compared to the original, the pasteis looked awful, the first one it looked like the chocolate was too thick, the sponge looked too wet and the decked cake was just looking bad

that egg custard is awfully made.
the custard in this pastry should be more like a creme brulee instead of "custard" custard, which requires very percise control on temperature to make not over or under cook it.
the shaped is deformed as well, and size is heavily reduced, and I doubt the outlayer is going to be soft and flaky
It is the type of pastry you can't do right and won't taste right if you don't follow the proper recipe
