Thanks for including me in this collab! The video turned out great…lots of uncommon Mexico advice that new-to-Mexico visitors probably haven’t heard before.
Thanks for being a part of this and Being so easy going!
How fun to see Maddie on your show! 😊 It’s just like seeing a “guest star” on one of my favorite shows as a kid: like Andy Griffith on Lucy, or the little green alien “Kazoo?” on the Flintstones! 😁
Yes, it was a fun feature! Glad you enjoyed one of our ”guest stars!”
Nice to collab guys! Hopefully can meet y’all in real life one day! Arriba la fraternidad internacional!
I hope so too! By then our Spanish should be as amazing as yours! Keep up the amazing content!
I was a little worried when I saw Maddie Golds face, I thought you guys were putting her on blast for doing something wrong LOL. Shes my favorite person to watch that lives in Mexico
Oh no lol! Maddie is cool and gave a great tip backed by her experience in Mexico.
Very cool to see Maddie and Ford! I’d love to learn French
Gotcha! They were really easy and cool to work with too!
I always have ten pesos in my pocket and I call it my potty pesos🤣
lol yeah, we keep some potty pesos too - love the name!
😂
“Don’t be a fool.” That statement at the end really was an excellent synopsis
The Yarbrosian community is growing, baby!
Yarbrosian .....I think I like that one🤔🤔🤔
What Maddie is saying is spot on what I found in Ecuador regarding the “negotiation culture” as well … which is, really, the same as the USA. Shop around and get a feel for the market rate. If you’re not feeling the deal thank them for their time & walk away
At least the vendors here don’t chase you down the street like a Honda sales person did to me & a friend once in Chicago’s River North neighborhood 😂
I (Rondel) have to agree I was admittedly a haggler up until recently. Funny thing, in the tourist areas vendors will start negotiating with themselves if you just suffer a little uncomfortable silence. I think the key is to shop around if you want a deal. We've been chased down a couple of times too lol
Fun video! Always happy to see Ford n Maddie. Next time, can you get a word from Bill The Geek? I shall improve on my drinking in public, living in beach communities has spoiled me. Having a blast working on my Español. ATB from sunny Cancun! 😎
Glad you enjoyed it! Maybe we’ll do a part 2. Beach communities sound like an acceptable exception. Cheers 🍻
Entertaining and informative! Cameos by Maddie and Ford were a bonus!
Glad you enjoyed it. Don't forget the Karen cameo... they're always fun lol
Very smart advice from African American woman about revealing all about yourself.
Ppl come over here either thinking it's all bad or all good when the truth is you need to be aware Everywhere you go.
Learning the language of the country you are visiting may be hard, but so worth it!
I learned Portuguese (studies it 3 years) before traveling to Brazil and I was able to immerse myself pretty well in the culture. It was amazing!
Great tips as always…
That's great!
Yesss Maddie! Love this!!!🖤🖤🖤🍻
Glad you liked this one!
❤❤❤ you guys rock
We mirror our subs! Thanks!
Nice that you connected with Maddie! I'm glad you got to the states for Thanksgiving and enjoy travels!
Thank you!! 😊
Fun! Great tips too. I definitely agree about the haggling and public drunkenness… though “para llevar” is an option at most bars I’ve been to. 😂
Oh and thanks for the mezcal PSA ❤🥃
Cheers!
Wait! But why are we not taking non-toll roads after dark?! This is the first time I heard that. Need more info! If it's like backwoods Mississippi out there, I need to know! 😂😳
It’s dangerous. Driving in Mexico can be quite the adventure. You’ll decrease your chances of misadventures when you stick with toll roads.
If you like the adventure and scenic take the none toll roads but don't during the day
Smart tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Such a cool video!

About Quintana Roo: We need to learn it but they cant learn some basic words and phrases when their businesses depend on it?
Txs bc unfortunately, as they say, common sense is not so common, nor is treating people like you
want to be treated.
That needs to be said....if you got it use it #commonsense
Too many rules fam, I'll just stay on the resort
Do you and enjoy doing it! 😁
Peace and Blessings.....care to share what I should say other than saying the word AMERICA?
United States.
@@TheYarbros ...appreciate that fam....didn't want to assume. Peace and Blessings.
I want to learn spanish
Hope it is a fun journey!
Excellent thumbnail guys, love maddiegold, clicked in a hot second! Speaking of hot...who is that leather jacket clad smoke show? Gah 😅
Thanks! Maddie and Ford both have great tips! Check out @Ford Quarterman’s channel. His videos hit a different, deeper level of Mexican culture 😊
@@TheYarbros I did watch a Ford video since I had to wait for the premier of this video 😉 700k+ subs and I'd never heard of him?!?! I've been watching Mexico content for years so that was surprising. What a personality, wow. His Spanish is perfection 🤩 Thanks for sharing guys, great tips!
There's a good reason you can't say America when you mean United States: Because we usually say America to describe the entire continent, and also the other Spanish speaking countries do that. So, if you call your country "America", is like you are saying: "Mexico, Costa Rica, Argentina, etc don't belong at the continent but we do". So, the definition of America is bigger than simply "The United States of America"
I think there's a lot more to it than that but it's ok everybody has their quirks.
This is 100% true, it extends to ALL of Latin America. Argentines, Brazilians, etc…many Latin Americans consider America from Canada to Argentina.
I've spent a considerable amount in Mexico and Central / South America and every continent except Antartica. I am often asked by the locals, "Are you American?" In my experience, the only people who try to make this non-issue an issue are Americans. (Or UnitedStatesians)😂😂
I wish that were our only issue 😂 we’ve been bombarded in the comments (mostly by nationals here) about this “issue” and with the same reaction whenever we refer to the USA as America.
I agree with your first guest about trying to communicate in Spanish when in Mexico. However, I'm guessing he's never been to L.A. People from Latin America live here for decades and never learn a lick of English, and expect you to speak to them in Spanish, and get annoyed if you don't speak it back to them. LOL!!!
Its like that in a couple of pockets of New York too. I tried to order a burger in an all Spanish McDonalds and almost got cussed out speaking English lol
@@TheYarbros LMAO!!!!!
Kinda like people from the US coming to Mexico, right?
I love practicing my Spanish in southern California.
Exactly, I am Latino and talk to Latinos who have been in the USA for decades and dont speak or are very limited in the English language. Also, I have been to Mexico and have witnessed Mexicans making fun of foreigners who dont speak Spanish. Sorry but that Quaterman guy is full of s##t
Vocês falam português 🤷🏾♂️🙃
Muito pouco. 😄
I'm trying to promote the idea of changing the name to the american continent and due the yankees appropiated the name America so we (the other americans) must ask the ONU or the OEA to change the name to the continent and the new name could be Colombia, Iberica, Latinia or Hispania.
Or everyone could just become Americans.
@@TheYarbros The problem is not with you, is with the white yank.....they were who decided to call America to the USA and was like a discrimination to the underdevelopped countries in America, so the name America has been poluted by the white yank.... and is for that reason we must change the name to the Continent.
There are other does and don'ts as well. For example, when entering a business or office or even when attempting to talk to a stranger, you should say "Buenos dias, tardes, noches" etc
Dont use the term "indio" to refer to somebody of indigenous ancestry. Its a real insult.
Be careful with tu vs usted. A lot of older people and others in positions of authority expect to be addresed by the more formal "usted"
Thanks for sharing!
That's why Americans got the label "the ugly americans"in europe because they only spoke English. Now they at least learned thank you, gracias, grazi ,merci
We've gotten a lot better since the 80s and the number of bilingual ppl is rapidly growing.
Don't slam it baby.... kiss it!
Lol
What? 🤔
lol
America is Not a Country it is a Continent😮 In the USA we hold the Beisball World Series, when there is Only teams from the USA playing, etc, etc the list goes on, it is an Egocentric Mentality
The Soccer World Cup on the other hand Does Include al the Countries in the World
Thanks for sharing!
I literally can't stand when people refer to the US as America. Like hello?! There are so many countries in America, and Mexico is one of them.
Also can't stand when people say "in the United States we speak English", when there is actually no official language of the United States.
If you are thinking about “be aware of your surroundings “ don’t come to Mexico. If you come here is to live freely, not like in the U.S.
Being aware of your surroundings is solid advice that is wise to use in most parts of the world. We'll continue to encourage travel to Mexico and beyond with this in mind.
still calling it America.
That's Correct. The USA is Not America. America is a Whole Continent and Not a Country. Remember
It's The US ➡️OF⬅️ AMERICA
AND NOT
US AMERICA. Big Difference
I understand what your country calls us and that's fine. Most of the world and in the US we call ourselves Americans like people from The United States of Mexico call themselves Mexicans. Nobody can change what you call yourself no matter how they feel about it. Fortunately everyone that lives in the American continents can call themselves Americans and none of them are wrong for it.
We call citizens of Estados Unidos Mexicanos : Mexican. We call citizens of the United States of America: American. What else should we call citizens of that country in the middle of North America? 🤔 Anyway, sending love to everyone ❤🇨🇦
I feel like call them what the call them selves...but that's my perspective.
We need to learn each other language from birth.
Interesting, communication is the base of all relationships.
This video is a waste of time.
Maddiegoldigger was awful as always. I don’t like her at all.
We like her over here.
