Such a good conversation! I appreciate Erin's comment about how "everyday people are not calling in reports and they are also addressing harm". It is so true that this approach is already happening within our communities and there is so much wisdom held by the folks who are doing it. The solution is already at work.

As a mandated reporter and current Title IV-E MSW student who will soon enter the child welfare system, this was a very sobering talk to listen to. It opened my eyes to the history of child protection and mandated reporting. I definitely don't have answers and solutions to this major issue but I'm glad I can be conscious of it before entering the field.

So I’m not alone in this fight against CPS.. they intimidated me and my daughter.. lied about her whereabouts, her own court appointed lawyer lied against her.. hopeless situation.. the entire apparatus is unethical and heartless.. The entire family destroyed.

The part about trusting our neighbors I live next to a Mexican family that owns their business and they’re really nice people. My mom lives next-door to me on the other side. Then African-American people rent next to my mom and they have two pit bulls that bark all night and they smoke weed in their house and their seven-year-old threw a rock at a car window and broke it.

Odd how its massively much more popular support and funding industries for all that "" protective services and policing and counseling "" THAN IS THE ACTUAL ACCUSER / VICTIM AS THE REPORTER OF THE CRIME /VICTIM CASES ....IS MUCH LESS SUPPORTED OR POPULAR ...AS MUCH.

But do you think that its okay to end "" policing"- do you mean "" polic- ing"" as in the targeting of humans type shopping industries of exploitations? Strictl? Or do you mean to get rid of all or what level of "" policing""- but how do we protect people from crimes? Do we just make the system to reduce the more "" shopping"" and invasiveness ...yes, Id agree there.
