Based on the few times I’ve played this in-season I can say without a doubt that this isn’t a golf course, it’s a $90 colonoscopy. When the rough is up/lush and with no gps it’s just a brutal slog, even as a 4 handicap.
I live in Ventura County and avoid LA courses. Getting on is almost impossible and you pay a lot for dog tracks. Love my Soule Park up here. The best golf in the county and always reasonable.
Torrey Pines Golf Course, $223 to play during the week and $278 to play on the weekend is owned by the city of San Diego. Yes it is a Muni course and if you are a local they do have better prices for you. I think Sam lives in LA though.
My first time seeing this amazing course...can't wait to see what the back nine looks like! And in my mind all I can think about is how brutal it must play when you get your standard late-spring Midwest 15-20 mph wind blowing across the layout...
I have played, very difficult. Brutal. Painful. I can't imagine IU students play this course for fun. Carts have no GPS. Couldn't even load my golf app for this tract. I do remember seeing wild turkeys on the course. Really nobody wants to play a 220+ second shot on a par 4. Then there was the uphill par 3 on 17, don't even see the green. Tough. Very tough.
The course looks very strong. The fall colors still blow me away. The fairways look really tight and when the trees are in full bloom it has to make those fairways look even tighter. Great fun as always to watch ZRad and Yi-Man in action!

One that you have to check out is Harbor Links in Liberty, Indiana. The views are absolutely stunning. It sits on Brookville Lake and is a P.B. Dye Course.
hey Zac, I watch all your content, the one thing that really concerns me, nothing to do with golf, but every where you play all over your country, I see chemtrails always in the sky, so concerning.
Needed that cold weather club up and more scoring opps woulda been there. Zac, when were you there and at French Lick? The fescue and foilage looked amazing. Would like to time a quick trip next year.

Unless a hole is with the prevailing wind, I think 500 yd should be enough for better players. Sam didn't even have a chance to get there in two on that hole and he is a professional golfer.

Best bbq for me is a spot called Lewis’ BBQ in Charleston Sc. We have great golf here too with Kiawah only about 45 minutes away.

I was here end of October and even though it was a little chilly it was a great time of the year!
Late September/early October is best for the leaves changing, course is in it's prime in the middle of the summer.
