All the Holy Father's kindly keep me in yr prayer. Love from India
God Given Internet that brings this beauty into our homes that Alas did not exist when my dearly loved and missed
Greek Orthodox step father lived on this earth This month January was his birthday month he would be 114 years
Wish to pray for him and especially contribute to learning more on history of Byzantine Tradition
Would you also pray for young 33 year old Turkish author Siren Celik whose recent Biography on Emperor Manuel
taught me that Emperor Signature is kept in your monastery
Hope you can show this Signature one day on video and how it came to Pantocrator
Pray also that an Audio version of the biography is made
My stepfather was a doctor specializing in lung diseases but he also had an especial concern for the blind
Sad to say my secular education and I must add that history was my Favourite subject never even mentioned Byzantine Empire
When I was 33 I had never heard of Emperor Manuel let alone studied with much love his life in order to write biography about him
Nice ❤
απιστευτη παραγωγη, μπραβο σας, μια ερωτηση, με τι καμερα τραβατε και εχετε τοσο ωραια εικονα χωρις κοκους με στο Ναο με 5 κερια φως μονο?
Does anyone know why do they turn and swing the lights? Appreciated❤
They swinging lights are a symbol of the dance of the angels. That swinging chandelier is called "the polyeleos" because it is put in motion while the monks are chanting the Polyeleos which is the Psalm 135 and means: For His mercy endures forever.
So while chanting the eternal mercy of God, the monks swing the lights to make us pay attention that God and His angels are among us.
@@basileiosBbb1 Thank you very much
