Born and raised here. I’ll tolerate our winter weather to get to the rest of the year and its beauty. I don’t like the cold but I love seeing the snow fall, hot cocoa, blankets, and the warmth of the holiday season. It’s too hot and humid in the south. Too expensive on each coast. After seeing the destruction of hurricane season especially this past week, I’ll remain living in Michigan for the rest of my life. Compared to the rest of the country, we have our share of severe weather but nothing like tornado alley or the south and west.

I would pick Michigan winter for 4 months over 6 months or 105 in Arizona

I've lived here my whole life in Hazel Park area and honestly when it came to Detroit it's no where near as violent today and the surrounding areas are safe it's a great place for young families. Downtown is really a vibe also they have put billions in investment across dan Gilbert and the ilitch empire

As a retired person I'm wondering about all the snow shoveling. How hard is it to hire someone to do that? Is there areas that have a higher percentage of retired people ? I'm not interested in a " retirement home" but maybe in a community of other seniors . Approximately what is an average monthly electric and gas bill during the winter for a 1,200 sf home in Michigan ?

Downtown Flint is a huge college like campus for Michigan-Flint, Kettering University, Mott college. They are rebuilding new homes from downtown Flint outwards. BAD area to avoid...north side between Clio rd and carpenter rd.

I plan to move to Taylor, Michigan to be close to my family. What are the pros and cons of moving to Taylor as a single middle-aged veteran? I currently live in Los Angeles County California. Also how challenging will it be to find a job in the Detroit Area? Thank you.

Honest question. As a gun and hunting enthusiast, would it be a mistake to move to Michigan from Florida? I hate the heat and have been wanting to "pull the trigger" and leave but I do like gun laws in FL.

Your information is correct and interesting but you repeat over and over. Just get to the point instead of trying to draw out the video.

Would personally chose ohio over michigan . Same weather, same education, same seasons , same hunting , lake erie , BETTER INFRASTRUCTURE! MY GAWD does michigan have the worst infrastructure. No way does much of anywhere else suck this bad. Hope anyone who lives here has a truck w big tires.

Oh well ! The studies and results from 3rd party associations and the society of civil engineers don't lie . Hardly making this up here .
