I actually have had a theory how the ubercharge works. I think it accelerates the cells on the body so much, that the cells become invincible for a moment. (Take quickfix for example.)

Same goes for the uber charge, that one is essentially overclocking the heart to create a new epidermal layer of flesh within the blink of an eye, hence the invincibility.
