That's a long flight for a MAX. United just started service from DEN-OGG which is also 7+ hours on a MAX9, at least United's MAX9 isn't the torture chamber their 900ERs and 800s are (their MAX is 18 inch width 31 pitch in econ).

First time flying with Delta and going transatlantic was on a 767-400ER, ATL-MAD. N835MH, I believe. I remember being disappointed at the Wavy Gravy livery, thinking it was an old and unremarkable plane. Little did I know, Delta was one of the few carriers with this special treat. Haven't been on another 764 since BCN-ATL, but think she's one of the prettiest "original" widebody twinjets. A350 takes the cake, but she's from the current generation.
Just flew out of San Diego this August, the feeling of the plane rocketing off of the short runway is amazing (I was in an A321 can't imagine the power on a 767)!
And that 767 used ALL the runway, even running light by 767 standards. I can only imagine how quick a lightly loaded 777 or 747 would get off the ground there.
@@mrvwbug4423 i was fortunate to take a 777-300ER out of San Diego in summer, completely fully loaded for a 11hr flight. the power of the GE90 on that takeoff was a sight to behold.

Hello! It's the Strict Reviewer, and honestly, this is the best video on your channel. Mostly compliments. Starting with the intro. The intro had calming music with humor mixed in, with an abrupt stop to the calming music... and then we get into the tofu and potatoes of the show. Short, concise time at the airport. It gets really irritating when they run long. Brilliant takeoff video. Flight review itself was... Decent... We all know what Delta offers. I would have liked to see some legroom videos and some IFE and seat videos with explanations on the seat. (USB ports, universal outlets, etc.) To answer your question: Honestly, I think Delta is going to keep operating the A321 to SAN, at least until the A321neo arrives. You could also see some A220 action. SAN isn't that major of a destination. Also, I think you're taking Korean Air across the Pacific! :D A question of mine: Do you have a girlfriend or some kind of person who films on the other side of you? I noticed you filmed the seat next to yours, which was CLEARLY occupied, and most people would have an issue with that. So I think there's something you're not telling us... Or maybe I haven't watched that video yet.

Did the overhead bins on the 767-400 make a squealing sound when they open? I was on a 767-300 last summer and everytime a side overhead bin opened, a squealing noise was made. I'm not sure if it was because the overhead bins came from a 3rd party because unlike any -400s, none of United's 767-300s were originally delivered to them with Boeing's signature interior.

Hope you had a great time during the Holidays! If Delta does send you an email about this flight please do add in the suggestions that they needs to replace the overhead bins. I know Delta is currently refurbishing its 767-400's but please do not have the new overhead bins with all the weight on the bin which is a hazard for the Flight Attendants who have to close every single bin on the plane which can result in a work injury. Delta needs to implement a carry on bag weight limit like European airlines which weigh carry-on bags at the gate which results in much lighter overhead bins. Thank you.

You forgot to mention Delta has a fleet of A330-300s. That would make more sense than the larger long haul A350. To service domestic routes the A319/320/321 and 737 is sufficient enough.
It's been too long since I've been to SAN. Mission Beach looks REALLY good right now. It's 7 where I am. Feels like temp is -26. Oh, and cool video, as usual!

Magnificent video. As per your writing to DL about sending the A350 to SAN from ATL, as an airline employee from another airline I must write that sending an A350 is not cheap in one sense and unless DL starts a long haul international segment from SAN unfortunately it will never happen. Majority of US carriers to and from SAN are operating with A320, 321 and or 319 due to competition, the rise of cost of fuel and to reduce the fees of take off and landings. Great idea tho. This B767-400 might been used that specific day because they might have a million dollar cargo client that needed to ship the freight on LD-8 containers so it may be FAST CAN TRANSFER to a n international segment. I have seen pictures of the refurbished 767-400. In economy, they use the same seat model as the A330NEO and the A220, but anyone who has seen the pictures would notice the very funky headrests in economy. Can someone who has seen the pictures tell me why Delta put the funky headrests on the 767-400, unlike how they put the normal headrests the A330NEO and A220?
Wow, Bahamas Air is pretty rare and I’d love to get the chance to fly with them. The 735 is pretty rare these days as well, so it sounds like it’s going to be an amazing trip!

Gotta Love the 767-400ER! 👍🏻 Those raked wingtips borrowed from the 777-200LR/300ER and eventually used on the 787 are beautiful! Plus, the extra length really suits the 767 design! I’ve only flown on it once, but it’s definitely on my list of things to do again! I’m just never sure which routes Delta flies them on! Anyways, Another excellent video! I hope you enjoyed your flight on this rare beauty! That being said, I also want to catch a flight on one of Delta’s new A350’s! Hopefully more routes are opened soon! Speaking of wide bodies in and out of SAN...am I delusional, or do I remember a BA 747, that used to make a stop in PHX both directions??? Many years ago of course!! Great video, as usual. 👍
Thanks Erik! Yes, back in the late 90s the BA flight made a stop at PHX in both directions. It wasn’t until 2001(ish) when the 777-200 came that they eliminated the stop.

My best flight ever was a Delta flight on a 767-300 from LHR-MSP. About 8 hours and 45 minutes. It was absolutely amazing :)

Flew in one once...HNL to CVG. I like the 767 family...two rows for seven across. And the window seat is only one from the aisle.
