Wow! I didn’t know that Kevin had these. But moreover, I didn’t know how handy it would be to have one. Thanks for showing me this great tool. I love synclastic pieces.
You can get an Arbor Press from Harbor Freight if you have one in your area...Creations Elaine Marie...and I really enjoyed the video...keep up the good work...also...I attached a spring from the handle bolt that secures the handle from slipping ...to the other side to keep from slipping out of the hole...no collar need...
Hi Melissa, on a couple of other channels the "guys" show how to get the handle in the correct position by grinding off the bottom two teeth on the ram. I sure like your idea a whole lot better by simply relocating the handle . I was showing my wife the other way of grinding off the teeth, when I came across your method. She was quick to jump on this and asked, now why would you grind off the teeth when you can do it this way ? OK out to the shop and see if your way works on my press and I'm sure it will. It seems like all those arbor presses are identical. I got mine from Harbor freight and it's pretty new. Thanks young lady....Ken ..Marina CA
Melissa, I wanted to buy a tool that. Would help me stamp on metal, so I wouldn't stamp on my fingers. I purchased an Arbor Press from Harbor Freights today but it does not come with a chuck where I could insert and secure my stamps. Do you know of any way of modifying it so I could use it for stamping on metal? Your Potter is a dream for someone who is just starting to work with metal. Much appreciated.
Hi Melissa, I'm back and I know I am going to take some heat from the "guys" but I like your idea. I took the press apart earlier this morning with the intention of grinding off those teeth, but decided it was a lot of hassle and set it aside for another day. Sure glad I didn't do it then, because your idea in my opinion works as well or better and doesn't involve grinding off any metal. I'm 76 years old and know a good idea when I see one. Thanks again....sorry guys....Ken
Kenneth Bartlett Sorry for the delay in responding. My computer died and I had to get a new one. I am so glad to hear that this method worked for you. Yes, Grinding would be awfully difficult and long for this same outcome. Thank you so much for the fantastic feedback.
Also, if you need more power, you can slip the cap off one end of the lever bar and slide a longer metal pipe over it to extend it temporarily to give it more torque...but hold on to it!
Brunner Boettcher They are custom in the fact that Potter USA makes them, but he offers them with his arbor press. I am sure he has them available for single purchase if you contact him. PotterUSA . com.
hi, for those of you that use a 1/2 ton arbor press... what ga metal do you use with it? i bought one and a few design stamps a month ago, and i tried using 24ga dead stof sterling silver, nothing transfered, so i went to 26ga, and i got a little impression and a better one after i used a hammer on the ram, which i dont want to do. i thought i would just have to pull the handle down and then my design would be on the metal? maybe im just really weak? i just ordered 28ga but am worried that might be too thin. i can never get the full design when i hand stam, i've tried the tilt n tap but always mess it up. letter stamps, numbers and simple designs i have no problem free handing on metals up to 24ga.
Explained perfectly and you speak very well. Thank you for showing how each type of materials are used. 👍❤️

Great demo and explanations Melissa! I got mine and am looking forward to all the possibilities!

They should be there now. I think the video posted just as they were working on their site. I just looked and it is on their front page.

Greetings from Puerto Rico... My name is Edwin, I hope you understand my question... where can I buy the accessories you used in the video?
@@edwixtar I got them from PotterUSA.com
I wish I could find those things you call mandrel bits and forming blocks at 4:40 in the video, but I can't find them anywhere on your site.
Glenn Stephens I am not sure if Potter USA offers them anymore. I would give them a call. Sometimes he has things that aren’t listed on his site.
Hi I already have an arbor press and just wanted to know what you actually used to convert it for disc cutting. Thanks
good video, impressive demonstration

I leave the collar off the shaft also but forget sometimes and it slowly slips out. 😁
Melissa, where did you get your curved and angled mandrel sets? I'm looking for those and cannot find them.

Check out the Arbor Press by Kevin Potter and PotterUSA.
I like your accessories for your press. Were they custom made or can you buy them in a store to attached to an arbor press.

Where did you purchase this arbor press? I cannot find a seller online.
I got it from Potter USA, but sadly, he no longer offers them.
@@MelissaMuir Is there a second hand purchasing option?
Do you need an arbor press if you have a hydraulic press?
No. If you have a hydraulic press I don’t believe you need one.
Well explained
where can I get the associated tools...I have the I ton arbor press...thank you for the video...
Concepcion Amancio I would contact Potter USA to see if they still offer them.
I've been all over on line and can't find one! Can you please tell me where to go? PotterUSA doesn't have it either. Thanks so much,, b
Melissa good video
Would it work with metal stamps
@@crazysheep.studio yes. It would

You will actually get better impressions with thicker metal. The thinner metal doesn’t have enough metal to move for the impression to be strong.
@@MelissaMuir thank you, i will have to keep praticing.
I want one of these! Any chance there could be one hiding in the warehouse?
mrllblasi Sadly, I don’t think Kevin Potter is offering them anymore. But you can always contact him and ask. Www.potterusa.com

Do you know where to get a new Ram for a arbor press
I do not know where you would do that. Perhaps contact Kevin Potter of Potter USA, or some other machine shop and they may have a better idea.
Kathleen, you are going to love it. :)
Why would you advertise a product that is not on the website as claimed?
Courtney Grauvogl I am afraid that I am not able to control when a manufacturer removes a product from their line. Sorry.
I went to potter usa and there is NO arbor press! all they have are hydrolic presse
Hello not find on the site .
Esa herramienta está genial creo es más funcional q los embutidores...
