  • Chaired by our Chief Executive Rachel Power, in this Patient Partnership Week webinar we discussed epistemic injustice.
Epistemic injustice is a philosophical concept that describes how we can be discriminated against when our credibility is unfairly reduced when we speak. This form of injustice is a real concern for the Patients Association because its consequences in healthcare are negative and far reaching.
Helping us unpick epistemic injustice were Haris Sultan, former NExT Director for Citizens and Future Generations, and Dr Dan Degerman, Research Fellow at the University of Bristol, which is one of the universities working on the Epistemic Injustice in Healthcare [EPIC] project.
