I had no idea that the story of my all time favorite character will end a year later after I published this transformation video. MANY people asked me to update it and I finally brought myself to finish it, even though it was still extremely hard to edit his last moments. I'm still very heartbroken and bitter about how AMC and writers wrapped up Carl's story. But at least he's in better place now. #RIPCarlGrimes

and was sexually assaulted..that shit is difficult to get over.. and that kid never even got to process his trauma.. he just stood up as a soldier at terminus..

Plus Carl was afraid of Rick after he bit that sex predator’s throat out and Rick gutted that child molester who went after Carl. Yeah, he didn’t get to process his trauma, I mean it was forgotten. Maybe later Rick and Carl talked about dangers of sex predators in the apocalypse. We just didn’t see the conversation.
I really wonder if any of that assault stayed with him as he got older.
He said to Enid “Something bad happened to me” he was probably talking about having to shoot his Mother, after she gave birth to his little Sister, and not being threatened with a knife, thrown on the ground, and being pinned downed and sat on by a child molester.

@@jaemyrick5277 generally after SA people have lots of emotions.. i don't know if he was afraid of his dad or he didn't go with rick cause like he later told michonne because he thinks he is a monster and doesn't stand up to his father's expectations.. or he could be feeling weak for not being able to fight back.. or may be like a burden cause he might think his father had to do that because of him.. SA victims often hold guilt.. but we would never know.. also we would never know how he processed all other traumatic incidences he had to go through (losing sophia, killing his mom, losing lots of other group members he was close to.. getting shot, losing an eye and many others) we never see him losing his shit.. even most adults did at some point.. he reacted only once, the episode next to hershel's death.. but that was a very short outburst coming more in form of anger than grief.. he just seems to magically recover... now there could be 2 possibilities. Poor writing on his character or that is the part of his character to interlize everything.. not bothering anyone with his problems.. i chose to believe the second one.. and that is what made him my favorite character.. cause there are little moments throughout the show which shows he thinks a lot.. 1) when carol told him lori was proud of him, he replied for what being mean to her and carol told him to not think about it and he said that's all i think about..
2) just after claimers attack he told michonne he is a monster.. people say these things only when they overthink every morally conflicted action..
3) throughout the series he tries to save people.. dies to save someone.. and in his deathbed he told about the boy he shot.. even after all those years he still thinks about it... and since then he tried to save as much lives he can.. ( the stranger he tried to save in season 4, 16th episode, Gabriel, siddique)
4) when he protects ron from rick by not telling how he tried to kill him.. this is not only an example of how understanding carl is.. even adults wouldn't have been so understanding towards Ron's side, but he was.. but this case also proves that carl mostly tries not to bother rick with his problems.. if he could hide a threat to life i can imagine all the emotional trauma he must have been hiding...
That's why I love carl and his character breaks my heart.. One wouldn't expect this level of emotional strength from a kid... actually no child is supposed to this emotional constraint..
Carl reminds me of someone I knew.. which makes me even more protective and sympathetic towards his character...

I completely agree. TWD has always been gritty and prone to killing off characters, but at its heart it was a story about a man and his son. Now, it's like the show no longer has a focus. I'm no longer regularly watching, but the bits and pieces I've caught of the show since Carl's death have been a complete mess. It's sad because it was one of my favorites. In my opinion, TWD died with Carl.

TWD was about the Grimes boys, especially Carl. This was his story, his series. Rick was a character who was just the driving force for his character development. Carl was supposed to pick up from what his father left for him. Sadly we are never gonna see that, Rick buried his son but it should have been Carl burying his dad. All this character establishment, all this character development, all this build-up....wasted...#RIPCarlGrimes. Great video, still heartbroken...

They make the last 2 seasons making us like Carl more and more and I was thinking that they were finally going to make hints of Carl being the future of the show but nope they decided to kill him off right when he was at his best

I was laying in bed when I watched this episode at 3am when it aired over in the USA. I had been following the spoiling dead fans for some time and read a post on there that Carl hadn't been spotted filming past 808 and there were rumours of him being killed off. This post was later removed so I assumed it was fake, there were plenty of times where Carl could have met his end in the season but he kept going, I thought about the post but again just assumed it was fake. When he got into the sewer with saeed and it was clear he had been bitten I broke, I let out a genuine sob for a good minute and continued watching. Nobody wanted Carl to go, not even chandler. It sucks they allowed gimple to throw the show off by this choice. Many of us invested so much into the show over the last decade and we had so much hope for Carl's story. I wanted him to be able to tell the stories of his mother, of his father, handing the torch to Judith was a save in a way but it'll never be the same show without Carl.
I cried before, during, and after the episode aired. Honestly, sometimes just being reminded of the fact that he died makes me wanna curl up and sob

Carl, now he is amazing, always was, always will, him and michones best friend bond was so cute, and so was him and ricks and Enid’s and everyone’s, he got on with everyone and that’s a good thing abt him, he’s so amazing and lovely, he wore his dads hat practically through the whole series and that’s what made him Carl Grimes, he was a good fighter, through thick and thin, through him 2 gun shots, to been bitten,he fought well, and will always be remembered in my heart, he’s my favorite character and has so many reasons to still be on the show , but life has to come to an end for everyone, but it was unlucky it was to quickly for him, I’ve know what happens to Carl for abt 3 years now and had no clue what the walking dead was until abt a month or two ago when I started watching it, as soon as I saw Carl he was such a sweet boy, my mam and brother had stoppped watching at season 7 so they rewatched it n I started, I’ve always know how he dies, but only now it hits me, I’m on season 7 right now and very close to this part, it breaks my heart because he was such an amazing soul, I love him so much and wish him best in heaven, what an angel he is, rip carl grimes missed by many, missed by me, angel, I love you Carl grimes❤️

I never understand why people always hate on him, and even in season 2 and 1. Think about it. When all of this started he was a CHILD forced into all of this! Watching people being eaten/torn apart in front of him, and I don't think anyone would react to this well let alone a child! Not to mention how before all of this happen his father was shot, and leaving him to believe he was dead. This kid has been through hell and back, and there's still people calling him a "brat." Carl has been, and will always be my favorite character of the whole show (even though he's dead ;( ) He's easily the most developed character in the whole show..and in my opinion his story is the most complex and fascinating out of any of the other character's stories. It was such a same to see him go, and so sad they killed him for the sake of "shock" it was very unnecessary, and put a end to so much more potential for this character could've had in the future.

I miss the old show too. It was the enemy vs the good guy but so much harder because the walkers . Now the walkers are a whole side plot that are just like, there.. and exist. We don’t really see them as a threat anymore and it’s different , kinda boring watching them without that fear of the walkers. I do think the earlier seasons were the og tho, closer to like 4, 5,6

Look, I know this is late but Carl Grimes was supposed to be on this show till the end, Chandler Riggs even bought a house near the set because he was going to stay on the show for a couple more years, but eventually he was complaining about some things on set and he got into an argument with a producer, so they fired him. Andrea from Season 1 - Season 3 was also supposed to make it to the end. She was supposed to be with rick, not michonne, but she also got into an argument with the producers, so she got fired.

I'm still pissed that they decided to kill him off. He had such a good story arch in the comics that lasted past the final issue. The show has changed so much and it's not for the better.
I think the actor wanted to leave the show, or he was fired because the producers didn't wanna give him the adult amount. Ive never read the comics but they seem good
