I Think Allen did mentioned it's a combi boiler and he made it into 2 zone valve, one for the heating and other for the UFH and said it's an S Plan, so the other zone valve would have a wiring centre, programmer and room thermostat to control the other zone separately. And this centre what Allen was wiring is just for the UFH and the switch live can got to the other wiring centre and from that centre to the boiler or going straight to the boiler, just like same as all S Plan system and that's the beauty of it. I might be wrong, but that's what I get to understand watching this video. Allen made some of us confused here not showing the final steps of the wiring to the boiler and the other zone valve, but he works hard to show us and that's a beauty of Allen in heart. Thank you Allen

Superb, great and very informative video. I am shortly intending to install UFH over time floor at my house, and need to install isulation before UFH so may get back to you if I have any queries. Thanks Allen.
Hi Allen. Many Thanks for this video again. I have just started my first UFH job. I don't know how to connect a existing combi boiler to UFH wiring centre. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
Thank you for your brilliant videos! Could you explain how/where a bypass would go? Also, if one port on the UFH manifold is receiving no flow yet other zones are working fine (flowmeter not showing any water) but signal is being received to wiring centre, removing actuator head (and manually ensuring return valve pin is free), what could be the cause and remedy? Thank you!
Top stuff. I did like the electrician comment. Could you make a detailed video on the functionality and safe and proper use of a broom . Guess the leveling spacers are cut off with a Stanley once it's set. Looking forward to the mirrored ceiling and hydraulic disco ball install. Seriously great vid , keep up the good work.
an informative and inspirational video, it was good to see what is involved with the tile laying, however there was no mention of other floor coverings such as laminate or carpet. With carpet what needs to be fitted on top of the panels before carpet is fitted? Alos, shouldnt there be insulation installed against the wall around the edge of the room?
Great educational video, thanks a lot. I'm having a question regards this. I'm having 130 m^2 floor, and I'm planning to cover it with 13 circuirts, open loops system without actuators and buffer tanks. How can I be sure that my pump can drive all od the circuits well. My pump can maintain flow 25,8 L/min for delta 5 at 35 degrees celsius and it is variable speed pump with 32/102 input / output watts. Can I go with a single manifold or I need to split the instalation on multiple manifolds?
Great explanatory video for a complete beginner like me - thanks. Might be a silly question but can you have a ASHP connected directly to an UFH system without going through a boiler/cylinder please??
Great vid. I have moved to a bungalow that has underfloor heating throughout and its great. Only question is zone 8 on the heatmiser uh3 is set to override so when triggered by the thermostat it opens yhe valve on the manifold but does not trigger the boiler. I can switch override off on the heatmiser unit so it will trigger the boiler for zone 8, but just wondered why it was set like this. Zone 8 is the hallway and small toilet that houses the manifold and miser.
Hi great Video but can you please tell me where the boiler wire from wiring Center connects in boiler Also I have a nest controlling my radiators do I need to have a separate thermostat for under floor heat. Thanks
Great video, The bit that wasn't clear to me was how this all connects to the boiler in conjunction with the other zone valve and the other room being able to call for heat. Does the boiler have 2 sets of wires coming into it from 2 different wiring centres? and either can call for heat?
Yes ... That should be it .. the other rooms would have another stat with another wiring center ... to be controlled individually, he might have other type of heating in the other rooms ... He can heat one zone differently to the others .. that's the whole beauty of it ...
Hi Allen, love your excellent vids! Why are you joining the pipes in pressfit? Why not solder? Isnt pressfit much more expensive? Also I have a concrete floor... how much does this UFH raise the floor level, including insulation? Thanks!
Allen- Great video with details. Here in US I see people use an air separator and an expansion tank. Seem like your manifold tailpieces already have the air separator? Do you see need to have an additional air separator?
loafer sheffield It will not be the next video as I have some boiler and cylinder videos to upload but I will do underfloor heating with spreader plates in next few weeks, maybe a month. Thanks 👍
Allen. I wasn't referring to spreader plates. I was chunnering and whingeing about those baggy arsed, spotty tramps who apply plaster. Spreaders. They're muckier than sparkies and never clean up after themselves. The missus tells me that I leave a trail of destruction, dirty footprints and foul odours behind me, but at least I clean up after myself at work. LOL.
Great video...thanks for uploading. In your opinion which is best for a joist system? Dry screed mix or are the new Continal OneBoard systems I've seen recently worth trying? I'm thinking the dry screed mix might hold the heat a bit longer but take longer to heat up as well. The OneBoard system has thinner pipes, 12mm, so might not be as effective. So many options...
Hi Alan On the pressure gauge is that the pressure simply from filling the system by the hose or did you have to get it to the correct pressure using the pressure tester ? And what should the correct pressure be ?
Great video, i installed a heat miser 4, but i am getting a back feed from the pump on the ufh to the central heating pump, the heat miser doesn't seem to have relays to prevent this. this creates a problem, for me, the boiler itself has connections for the pump, which continues to run for 5 mins odd to cool down heat exchanger. I was going to not use the pump connection and just use the motorised valve to control the pump. But i am now thinking i need to use some switch gear namely a couple of relays and a timer. I am just wondering is there a simpler solution? regards, Peter
Great video! I have a bit different setup with a zoning off valve. The valve is broken and it keeps heating resulting in high room temperature and waste of energy. I am wondering can I stop the Wilo pump for a few days while I wait for a replacement part? Can this cause damage to system?
Hello Alan great videos as always. I have a question please got a 4 bed house with 2 en suites with 1 main bathroom/wc up stairs and 2 living room , 1 kitchen and 1 wc/bathroom downstairs altogether the floor space is roughly 280m2 i do think i need more than 1 manifold however how do wire and pluming two manifolds to the same boiler as we will be needing to pumps. It will be great if you can do a video about this please or if you have one that i can watch. Many thanks.
Really good video, but I would point out that it is against the regulations to use an earth core on a cable as a live conductor, even if sleeved, it is better to get a 4-core cable, as all live cables must also have an accompanying earth.
Great video Alan, never fitted ufh, ii know they many different brands out there, is this stuff cheap ? Also the pipes look a lot smaller than 15mm, do they need to be 15mm or near as? Thanks again
Tommy Blackman The board is 15mm in total, the pipe is around 8mm I think, not sure to be honest. Beneath was great for me as they worked it all out and told me what I needed. Thanks
I have something similar fitted to my kitchen and living room also hall ... The boards were different though I believe they were 20 mm thick and a dense material harder than kingspan .. also the piping 12 mm ... Really good systems .. I have them controlled by some 3 hive thermostats split in 3 zones obviously ... All controlled by home assistant ... Automated with presence detection by room etc. Very nice video, very in depth great work !!! I was expecting some self leveling floor over the boards and pipes before the tiling but if it works this way .. even better !
Hi Allen. Thanks for the video. What made you choose this size pipe instead of 16mm. Will this provide same heat output. I'm installing this system in my brothers house shortly, have only ever done 16/15mm systems with clip system and then 100mm screed
Great vid! Just moved to a house with no radiators and all underfloor heating throughout. Installed from new 2016. Looks like inhibitor at some stage wasn't added although sticker on boiler for a fernox dose is dated 2015. The flow controls all have black water showing with one showing brown. I was going to flush each circuit and drain system inc condenser oil boiler and its heat store then refill and add inhibitor. Should I install a magnaclean on the return or will flushing/refill/inhibitor be enough? I'm scratching my head a bit 😀👍
Hi Allen good video, question is could you just remove the wall radiator and connect the under floor piping the the feed and return for the wall radiator? or is this just a stupid question.
Hi Alan I’ve just been asked to fit a ufh supply to a new extension of a big kitchen, they have a new valiant combi about two years old which they want the UFH fitted from this, I have never had the privilege to fit UFH before but your video was great & really easily to follow, my question is is it just as easy to fit from a combi as a heat only boiler just by teeing off the primaries & fitting a two port valve before the manifold? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated Thanks Paul Sorry Alan only just realised this is a combi boiler, so basically it’s just turned into a s-plan system , so the valve feeding the radiator system how do we wire that valve in please Paul
Great Video explaining each step. Have watched the entire vid, but you’ve missed out the connection for the 2nd 2-port zone valve. By the look of things, you may need 2 wiring centres to control the different zones. If that’s the case, would it not be more logical to use one wiring centre? However, if you have wiring diagram for 2nd zone in the Saswell wiring centre, then that would be great. Thanks
brilliant video as usual allen, just a bit confused on how the the second drain off on the manifold would get rid of the air in the system, could you explain that a bit more?
Hi can we use two different pipe sizes with same manifold using an adapter. I'm thinking for using a 16mm pipe for my kitchen which has a larger area and 12mm pipe in hallway with wood floor which i will take out n install 60mm insulation between 100mm joists.
Allen did you know Electrician's are professionally trained to cut any excess cable or flex, and throw it on the floor. Amongst the saw dust, they created earlier!
Hi Allen, thanks for the clear vid. Bit of an odd one: I'll be installing underfloor heating in a car camper conversion to be heated by an external rocket stove with copper coil. Pumping from cold water store, through the coil, round the system under the sleeping area, then into hot water storage. Would appreciate any thoughts or advice you have on this in terms of kit, requirements, obvious risks, precautions, tricks of the trade etc. Many thanks.
Thanks for this helpful video Allen. You showed the link to the boiler from the wiring centre, but how does this tie in with the signal from the main central heating programmer/thermostat? Is it just wired in parallel? My boiler (WB Greenstar) has a Salus stat that plugs into the front of the boiler for the CH. Would this have to be replaced? Thanks.
Much appreciated Allen. This seemed a reasonably simple system to fit. Only thing I wondered about was the lack of insulation onto a concrete floor and the potential heat loss or cooling effect. Would you recommend this method or should we really be digging up the pad and re-laying the floor with polystyrene (50 to 100mm) sheet. Massive, messy job especially when doing the whole of the downstairs in one hit. House is 1995ish construction.
Look at lofit20 castellated panels, only 23mm total build up when self leveller put down and much better heat output than overlay boards because its 15mm pipe & you can do 100mm,150mm or 200mm centres and because you are heating a compound it will give better heat transfer than these boards
Fantastic video, thank you. Can I ask what you used to attach the insulation panels to the concrete floor? I was going to glue mine, but screwing them in seems much easier
Great video..... I have a ‘vented’ system, the plumber has suggested changing this to a pressurised system, as this will be better for underfloor heating, claiming that he cannot connect to the existing circs, for the proposed underfloor heating to a new extension. The extension is 28sq mts and is attached to an existing room of 26sq mts. This room has now had all joists removed and replaced with a concrete base. The whole area of 55sq mts with have 110 insulation and underfloor heating. I want to have hot and cold taps, in a toilet, at the far end of the extension. Is this why he suggested pressurising the whole system. And, can pressurising an existing vented system cause leaks later down the the line? Can he T’ off the existing 22mm circs for the underfloor pipework? Hope you can help. Regards
Hi Allen, I'm installing a small UFH heating system (3 zones) and a wet towel rail in a small 1 bedroom house I'm building. Do I need 2 motorised valves to make an S plan system. I'd like the towel rail to be on a time clock separate to the UFH. If you can let me know I'd appreciate it mate. Thank you.
what do you do for adjoining rooms if you have to put in underfloor heating and the other rooms are radiator heat? I am only concerned about the height differences in the flooring between three rooms. Our kitchen/diner will have underfloorheating but they have two rooms off of the kitchen that are parquet floors with radiators. (1930's house) Thanks.
hi could you advise me if i could get this slim ufh system on the first floor bathroom with an existing maniflow already in the ground floor, i have a feed alread running from that ready but wanted to use something that does not require screed as its on the first floor.
Could you tell me the reason why you put that black sleeve over the pipes at the manifold and I also see they put that underneath doorways what is the reason
Hi Allen, As with other comments, I found the video content really useful and informative. With the underfloor system and using multiple manifolds distributed around the ground floor of home, does each manifold need a separate flow and return pipe pair fed directly from boiler? Is it possible for one flow an return pipe pair from boiler to feed multiple manifolds in much the same way as two pipe system for radiators? Many Thanks
I Think Allen did mentioned it's a combi boiler and he made it into 2 zone valve, one for the heating and other for the UFH and said it's an S Plan, so the other zone valve would have a wiring centre, programmer and room thermostat to control the other zone separately.

Thanks. I am beginning to see why people just fit radiators!
nice copper work - very clean indeed! did you use a crimp tool for the joints as there is no sign of solder?
Thanks for this helpful video Allen. You showed the link to the boiler from the wiring centre, but how does this tie in with the signal from the main central heating programmer/thermostat? Is it just wired in parallel? My boiler (WB Greenstar) has a Salus stat that plugs into the front of the boiler for the CH. Would this have to be replaced? Thanks.
so thats how its done! one question any reason why theres an external pump? when there is one on boilers. thanks
Digging would be better really but this works for me. Thanks.
Look at lofit20 castellated panels, only 23mm total build up when self leveller put down and much better heat output than overlay boards because its 15mm pipe & you can do 100mm,150mm or 200mm centres and because you are heating a compound it will give better heat transfer than these boards
nice video pal..
Fantastic video, thank you. Can I ask what you used to attach the insulation panels to the concrete floor? I was going to glue mine, but screwing them in seems much easier
We screwed them down. Thanks.
@@AllenHart999 thanks Allen. What did you use to screw them down? Concrete screws with washers?
Hi Allen I’ve rang this company today for a ufh underlay system and they won’t quote me direct how did you get them to quote you ?
Regards
Hi Alan were do you wire the 2nd zone valve, really appreciate your video and help
Thank you.
Great video very well explained brilliant
Hi Allen, great video mate. Quick question, can I just put engineered wood on top of this without cementing the tiles.
Hi alen I have all rooms thermostat four zones where can connect the cable in wiring box
Hi which wiring center did you use.... thanks
what do you do for adjoining rooms if you have to put in underfloor heating and the other rooms are radiator heat? I am only concerned about the height differences in the flooring between three rooms. Our kitchen/diner will have underfloorheating but they have two rooms off of the kitchen that are parquet floors with radiators. (1930's house) Thanks.
i would try and do all the floor. Thanks.
@@AllenHart999 And how many people can afford the cost Alan?
Hi. How to remove the clips after putting all tiles?
Good video.
For multiple rooms how should go out to each and return to the manifold? Along the edge and back the same edge?
hi could you advise me if i could get this slim ufh system on the first floor bathroom with an existing maniflow already in the ground floor, i have a feed alread running from that ready but wanted to use something that does not require screed as its on the first floor.
Could you tell me the reason why you put that black sleeve over the pipes at the manifold and I also see they put that underneath doorways what is the reason
Hi Allen great video.... did you get the floor panels from beneath heat as part of the pack?
Yes, They were great and helped every step of the way.
Many Thanks
