My admiration and respect for Mark grew when I found out he attends daily Mass whenever possible. He was set on a straight path by a priest that saw his potential instead of being another candidate for prison like some of his older brothers. The youngest Wahlberg brothers have become very famous. I especially loved Donny in Blue Bloods until I began hearing more of Mark's life and his admiration for his faith. This movie just shot him out to the stratosphere in my estimation. He will continue to inspire me.

    • @sheilad83

@@sheilad83 Hi Sheila. I knew nothing about Mark but I have been a big fan of Donny, his brother. So when I looked up a movie of Mark where he talked with a Teddy Bear, I was turned off even MORE on him. That Teddy Bear was awful with a terrible voice. And when I found out he was the main character on Transformers, that impressed me a little more. But then I heard him on an interview how he changed his life because of a priest who became his friend. He didn't preach to him, he just became his friend who helped him get out of the criminal route he was headed and mainly, brought him back to the faith. When he made that turn, he saw good things happening in his life so he embraced his Catholicism. Both he and Donny lost their mother while shooting important films in their lives.Sshe was such a great influence on all her boys, even the rebellious ones that have come out of it too. I respect him more each day.

the bigger picture and the purpose 1:01???i thought that was the millions going into your pocket ...don't act all holy just because you play a priest in a movie i can't stand these actors always acting like they have a higher purpose.....what was the higher purpose in the happening or those god awful transformers films. now he's playing priest all of a sudden he saint and god fearing man these hollywood actors get on my nerves...trust me these actors are not loyal to god

    • @finallythere100
      @finallythere100 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@joshuaknox2724 - ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?? There are a couple of things you are NOT considering, but then again, it sounds like you have not walked the walk of the true faith. ..... (1) Firstly. YOU aren't privy to Mark Wahlberg's charities. Jesus' teachings are specifically emphasized - especially during LENT, Jesus' teachings for us to give without revealing - so" the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing." That is bc if a person reveals it he has already received his reward for that charity. MW never said the proceeds will go to charity, but I have no doubt whatsoever that at least a substantial amount will be given to the needy.
I do believe him when he says (in other sources ) that when he gets up in the morning he gets down on his knees and prays. MW has been talking about this kind of thing, his faith, for a while now. . There are PLENTY of publicly declared Catholics that don't give off the right vibes. (take Joe Biden, Melinda Gates, just to name 2)
      (2) Making a pro--Catholic/conservative movie is well known to be a TERRIBLE career move. Mel Gibson was very upfront with the gorgeous, young Jim Chaviezal about this. That it will severely affect if not ruin his career. Jesus also told us to expect to be despised for honoring Him.
If you take just a little time to pause and think about these things, and ask any devout, genuine Catholic or someone of another Christian faith, you will learn that completely different principles than what you are used to in this secular world is what is motivating MW and MG. THAT is the whole point of the movie. What about the risks for MW to use his own $$ to fund this when he reportedly could not get the usual Hollywood support. ..? For that matter, what about the actual story of the PRIEST that MW felt was so genuine and compelling -that he could relate to, to such a degree as to make this movie that comes w substantial risks of his current $$$ and future ability too make $$. Plus if he is blacklisted, like others before hi have been from promoting the Faith ??
You have it all wrong. Think about it.

I have admired Mark Wahlberg for years because of his incredible story and now to see him as the mature man seeking understanding that he is now I’m not only impressed, but inspired. He has implied that he is willing to forgo big budget movies in order to make meaningful movies like Father Stu. I would hope that isn’t necessary and that people will embrace any movie with Mark in it. I believe the pendulum is swinging back towards sanity and I think people like Mark can help make that happen.

This movie is so moving and I could really relate! 😊 It brought tears to my eyes. 😢 My husband and I lost our 2nd child, 1st boy, newborn baby Zac from placenta abruption when I was going to the hospital to have our baby at 38 weeks pregnant with only somewhat high blood pressure in 2015. Everything else looked good. When he passed after 4 days, we were so devastated and my 2 year old daughter, Natalie, at the time, couldn't really comprehend luckily, but she knows about her sweet Angel brother Zac in heaven. We talk about him often and celebrate his birthdays. Now we have another son, Brady (yes, after Tom Brady of Patriots!! We live in New England! Just like Mark! We still like Tom, even though he's at Tampa Bay😂). Brady was born a few weeks early with a very rare Genetic Syndrome TARP. He wasn't supposed to live past 2. He's now 5 and thriving. We have definitely suffered a lot. I have gotten closer to God. My husband, not so much so I'm hoping this movie will help him. We're both doing great overall. TARP syndrome makes it so Our sweet, happy Brady has Respiratory issues, low muscle tone, can't crawl, we repaired the hole in his heart, he feeds through a Gtube, can't talk yet, but has improved greatly. He loves people, smiles a lot, laughs, rolls, loves tummy time. He only needs the Vent at night now w/o oxygen. He even overcame COVID this past January, we all did and just stayed on Vent more for 3 days. Thank you Mark and everyone for making this Movie!! It's really uplifting and makes you realize Suffering does make you a better person and stronger. Our daughter, now 8, is such a sweetie and more sympathetic then most kids her age.

I loved the weird casting, never would have placed the estranged parents actors with Mark, but it surprisingly turned out to be a brilliant move. Why wasn't his sister written into the movie? From several of my friends who saw the movie, we thought the audio was faint. Not sure if that was our theatre's problem or it was meant to be that way. @@jeffscully1347 What are Dolan's credentials for advocating an entire belief system that judges all of us and condemns us to hell for not following it? But here's the fact: Dolan moved to hide $57 million in church money so that victims of sexual abuse (that HE HIMSELF confirmed were abused) could not access it in a lawsuit. Any other organization that ran a child abuse ring for decades would have been shut down by now. Yet the Catholic Church still operates and people like you still defend it. Unbelievable.

Who's some former graduates some did serve in the White House currently work for secret service I'm not going to drop any names let's see the last United States senator yeah and generally when our kind of people find out wrong doing people due to our faith cuz we actually believe it and when Jesus Christ judges me on my day of death I hope he says well done faithful servant because I'm pretty sure every priest that failed me and all the old bitty old ladies that refuse to say anything or people who did nothing well I was abused in front of their face and still don't well I think Jesus is probably going to call you a wussy and maybe flip your table over cuz he's not buying what you're selling... I wanted to see it, but read some raunchy, off-color language that I don't want in my head. Wish they could have a version that cut language out. I get that it was trying to be realistic and appreciate it, but also, I try not to expose myself to things of that nature- I used to swear like a sailor and don't want the reminder. It's like an addiction. It comes back to haunt you sometimes when you're around it.

Cardinal Dolan & Mark Wahlberg in these moments; let's goO! at
(Genesis) 1:14 "let there be 'stars' for special day nights & times" witnessing that in this video; let's goo!!!
    • [Deferments & References to The Bible; and your shared experiences spoke in this video]
    • That Christ Offer - Reprobus - warrior Christ transformation process at (Philipians 3:13) “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead” at 3:43 the interplay of the Divine Waters (of unformed potential) & Feminine that interplays in The Process.
    • At 4:44 (Genesis 41:12) “ -giving an interpretation to each man according to his dream”
    • At 7:07 "That I might know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings; being made conformable to his death" (Philippians 3:10).
    • "I prayed for this boy, and since the Lord gave me what I asked Him for, I now give the boy to the Lord."
thankful to God, and our mothers, and now you're here with us in these first months, at 15:05 in which we can now share in the new roles we take on in the breath of life.
    - [Differentiating with a personal perspective]
    - in just watching this video we get to participate in a type of Paschal Mystery.
    - and the often overlooked redeeming stories & qualities from prison ministering is a type of Christ manifestation as well, in the interplay of Christ as the good word that, that functions ubiquitously ...and is yet "a word" as a transitive verb that bridges the functions and the participation and the resulting Christ(s) for/within us. This is the ending of my comment, thank you for reading these "words" but by the end of it... this is "in the beginning" for many many people - in which the words in this video drew me in... yet the video draws a picture of the bigger picture; thank you dearly fellows! It's glorious to even just participate in the sharing of your stories and great works.
    - we are excited to watch the movie as well.

    MARY'S APPEAL
    For the Immaculate Heart Triumph
"Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death."
"Make and distribute my green scapular as soon as possible, if given with confidence, there will be a great number of sinners converted, especially those souls who do not possess the true religion. They will receive many graces, to help them in finding and keeping the one true faith. Those who die wearing my sacramental green garment will be given a peaceful and happy death, and shall not suffer the eternal fires of hell.
Furthermore, I shall Bless on Earth, every heart who makes my green scapular wear it or spreads devotion to it, for it is My Immaculate Heart, therefore treat it with profound honor and respect. In addition, all who wear or keep about themselves my green scapular badge, are agents of my Immaculate Heart. Hence the evil one is powerless to harm those souls who clothe themselves in my love."
BRIEF BENEFITS - Green Scapular compared to the other Sacramentals
    - No enrollment needed just a simple blessing from a priest for any soul to benefit
    - One can give away to anyone in and outside the faith... even hidden from the individual and also please say the prayer.
    - Help a souls eternity especially those who are obstinate to keep it hopeful for everyone
    - Great blessing if worn in regards to wearing it but not a prerequisite to obtaining grace
    - When you feel your voice is not heard or one worries in regards to their eternity... heaven gives us hope for them in this sacramental
    - additional benefit: add Both Style Miraculous Medals for the purpose to give strength and signal graces to help souls when worn.

No gush the events of a Vietnamese priest 13 years in a Vietcong Prison.
It is soon to be published by Austin Macaulay.

As in the interview with Bishop Barron, we find Mark reluctant to utter the name of “JesusChrist”, almost like he was terrified to be characterized by his Hollywood peers as, “a goody goody Christian”, or, by mentioning the Gospel message, being identified as a “bible thumper”. Fortunately Bishop Dolan, like Bishop Barron, was not reluctant to be labeled a Christian by listeners.
St.Mary, on the other hand , gets unabashed attention and mention by Mark. And that’s a good thing, as is Mark’s bravery to go against the, mostly sinister, Hollywood tide.
