13 1/2 - I wear mine proudly; 12 jurors, 1 judge and a halfass chance (court appointed attorney - in my case)
took a bad situation and made it into a winning situation & did both myself - got myself in there & worked my ass off to make it right & I got my first college degree in there & 1st certification as soon as i was released - mine isnt a diamond - fireball & it's that way for a reason

Mystery writer Nevada Barr published a 2009 novel titled 13 1/2 based on that same definition.
From my interpretation of the 13 1/2, it seems to be a good fit for anyone wanting to wear a 1% patch but doesn't want the negative backlash, diamond or not. Anyone with an outlaw type mentality but not a member of an outlaw MC. Someone who will stand up for themselves and their own and accept the consequences of their actions.

Another great video Ghost! I always enjoy your videos as a window into an interesting subculture.
I rode for years here in Texas, and we have a large Bandido and Cossacks presence, but I never had an issue with club members when I'd encounter them on the road or pulling into a gas station where they were present.
When I rode sport bikes, I always respected the dynamic of rolling up on a club in formation, and I'd show down until they'd see me and without fail after a short interval I'd get waved ahead and would give them a quick thank you wave and be way.
Once I added an American bike to my collection, I'd have the occasional interaction, usually just asking how I liked my bike (it was Victory's last production bike, the Octane), and we'd chat a few minutes about our respective sleds and then go about our days.
I know a lot of America doesn't get MC culture, or all they know of it is Sons, but I enjoy the history of it originally being mostly ex military guys who just enjoyed riding and wanted to keep that camaraderie.
One percenter clubs may be involved in some illegal activities, but I also see some of them that also engage in charity work and community betterment.
I don't remember ever reading about other "organized crime" entities evening out the bad they do by doing good things also.
Some will only see the bad, but honestly, if you aren't in the life, and you show a modicum of respect, you probably have nothing to fear from 1%ers.

A diamond with a 13 inside including that extra 1/2 is statement even with the reasoning behind the symbolism, it's saying "we are a diamond club" . The president pretty much made that clear, they may not be a 1% but that is a diamond club. Putting a diamond on is like putting a black belt on and walking into a BJJ gym if you really aren't at that level you are gonna get found out right away and probably get hurt, if you are then you have nothing to worry about. I don't think REDUM has any worries.

As for the learning from anyone, I was both fortunate and intelligent enough to learn from other folks mistakes. Always see a way out as soon as you get in. Sit with your back to the wall and dont get wasted with strangers
I'm not In a mc nor do I have a bike "yet" but the culture is Fascinating and interesting. I'm from Northeastern Pennsylvania. We have some pagans over here that I have ran into that have been nice. And it was easy to walk up and start a conversation with them. They're not bad people. I don't know why people assume that they're all bad
This is NOT just redrum number. This has been around for so long. I have the 13 1/2 and i never heard of the redrum mc un till recently.

Brother thank you for all of your videos. You teach alot, I do the same teach the new generation about our culture. I have alot of young military guys who don't listen, yet still do their own thing with patches and colors, and not only that cuts.

As a veteran and a club member that stuff pisses me off with military and veteran clubs. No matter how much truth you try to share with them, they think it's fine to pop up with whatever they want, drop a MC cube, territory rocker, and think they're fine because they're military. I put my work in for my club to earn the respect we have and give. I've watched a few pop up say here we are wearing shit they shouldn't, get talked to, then they show up to a CoC saying this is us were here to stay and then show no love to anyone or show face again. I find it beyond disrespectful as a veteran and to my lifestyle, culture that I grew up in and fought for my colors. I'm sorry that you have this problem, they should know better.

The young bucks I come across are guys buying their first bike and putting lightning bolts on their bikes and other such insignias on their bikes and vests. I've had the tattoo on my right wrist since my first bid in the Penitentiary.I know some folks have different meanings for these things.But,I've allways given respect to the different factions,no matter where they came from.I know many members of the original Prison Motorcycle Brotherhood in the 80s and 90s, many members had 13 1/3 Diamonds tattooed on them. I was a PMB Member in prison.But,everyone I knew that rolled with them could handle any backlash or questions that would arise. Ride safe everyone.L ,L ,H & R.

I was with the 1st ID in Iraq, and i would LIKE to wear my 1st ID patch on my vest, BUT i wonder if was to run into a 1% MC somewhere, if they would take issue with it or not? I am in an MA for combat veterans and we do wear vests with the solid back patch that says combat veteran, but we DO NOT wear the MC cube or anything. The 1st ID unit patch is NOT a diamond, but its close enough to where i still wonder if it would be worth possibly pissing someone off who may confuse the 1st ID patch for the diamond 1% patch? Would a 1%er take the time to even ASK me first before getting upset?

I have been wearing a circle with the 13 in it on my cut since 1987 and have never had a issue, we wear/wore it to let folks know we like to smoke, it was a way of knowing who to ask and who not to ask if they had any smoke or if they wanted to indulge with you in a little smoke. So a 13 in a circle means something total different to us, only a idiot would put a diamond on their cut without earning it.
