I think Slipper and the Rose is one of my favorite Cinderella stories of all time, it's more realistic and it focuses on the Prince and the nobility a lot more.
"Protocoligarily correct" sound like "supercallifrgilistichespiralidoso(form Mary Poppins 1964)" or "substitutiary locomotion(from bedknobs and broomstics 1971)". I love the musicals where Sherman brothers made the music for.
Michael Hordern did it all. He played the king in a musical version of CINDERELLA, and he played the title role in Shakespeare's KING LEAR! Is there any king he couldn't play?
I just saw this film for the first time today. I enjoyed it and the music is by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. They also wrote the songs for Mary Poppins, The AristoCats, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Snoopy Come Home, Charlotte's Web, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and The Jungle Book to name a few. Also some theme park attraction songs for "The Enchanted Tiki Room", "The Carousel of Progress", and "It's A Small World"!
@themodette I was the same its the only song I managed to remember until I watched it like over 10 years later I ended up thinking it was a random song that I must have made up cos I couldnt remember where it was from
I LOVE THIS SONG! Probably my favourite from the movie- even if it isn't strictly necessary to the plot. Forgive me for mentioning this, but isn't it the fifth song in the movie?
My friend I think you might be simultaneously too harsh and overly generous here. In and of itself it's a quaint, enjoyable enough work, not worthy of Gilbert and Sullivan to be sure but not entirely forgettable either. "Position and Positioning" is a forthright, fun ditty as is the song they sing in the mausoleum whatever the heck it's called. Oops, I seem to have forgotten, point you!
My nan delights in telling people that she was astounded that I could say "protocoligorically" when singing along to this at the age of five :)
The greatest version of Cinderella
Find a mate slipper and
Ever After with Drew Baramore is a close second.

Who doesn't like old bewigged gentlemen doing their version of the can-can...honestly? Great song, thanks for sharing!
I love that all of these men can do perfect a curtsy and that it's not at all against protocol to dance on the table or stand on chairs.
Michael Hordern(the king) cracks me up in this movie

Our class sang this at a school concert once haha
Love this song! And I reckon the writers must have liked it too, 'cos we hear the chorus sung twice during the end credits.
4 people are protocoligorically incorrect.
YES!!!!
I've always considered this the showstopper of the film. A great number in a very awesome movie. :D
Why is this the song that slaps the hardest in this movie?
Thank you so much for uploading all of these songs! :D
Far too many! I adored this film as a child :) My sister used to leave the room when it was on as it made her "cringe"!

this is how to do a live action Cinderella film. Disney take note!
Great tune :-D
When I was a kid watching this you might as well have been singing the "Fidelity Fiduciary Bank" song cause I had NO idea what they were saying XD
If only the house of commons was this exiting.

Does anyone happen to have the soundtrack.

You are mistaken. I saw this film in theaters when it was first released. Look it up on IMdB. And it's anything but average.
one perfect number worthy of gilbert and sullivan in an otherwise forgettable musical.

The song in the mausoleum is called What A Comforting Thing To Know.
