A modeling career is hardly equivalent to Scouting. I’ve been close to both. For one, modeling is a job and it requires close supervision by a parent when you are a minor. Scouting is an opportunity to grow away from parental control. And you should have been given the opportunity to try something else. Forcing a career on this fictional child will not change your past.

Kristin Davis is definitely trying but her acting is so bad here. She used to be so natural but now it's like she's trying so hard... I don't know if it's the script or what. Or possibly that she's fighting to express herself through the plastic surgery ? Perhaps one reason women should leave their faces alone, it makes it harder to naturally express yourself.
I'm sorry but y'all are delusional. This is EXACTLY how Charlotte acted in the original SATC...especially when she was frazzled, which she was at least 50% of the time. I don't know what show you people were watching back in the 90s. Back then, it probably just came off as cutesy and neurotic. Now that Charlotte is " a woman of a certain age" the presentation feels more out of place and simply comes off as "bad acting" . Additionally, I think the divide between frazzled spazzed out Charlotte and even tempered WASPY Charlotte was more evenly divided. This reboot seems to lead more with the frazzled/spazzed out side of the character. For the less discerning viewer this can read as a character change, but it's not if you actually paid attention to the nuances of the character in the original. This same dynamic is happening with Miranda.
@@mg.5968 Partly true. When she was young, she could get away with this type of acting since she was cute. And now, she can't put up this kind of immature, childish expressions. But still, the actress's style is slightly more caricatural than years ago and I think it is because she tries to gracefully keep up with this awful script.

I agree. Her facial expressions are exaggerated. So it looks like her acting is caricatural.
