My brother has a 997.1 gt 3 rs trackcar and you barely notice that effect anymore, it's still there, but not like you feel it in the game, the way they just dont want to turn into the corner..
@@nicolasdujardin9639 that is every car. Even front engine cars on accel are actually transferring weight to the rear. Which is why you'll sit the rear squat and the front lift (a reason why a camaro zl1 1le has extreme aero in the front is for cornering stability as just rear bias would unsettle the car at such high speeds.) And you never want to be just hitting the corners on accel unless it's a corner that will allow accel but where Forza was struggling was on any corner. It seems to lack front aero and have absolutely poor handling.
I agree I almost hated the game because it was trash in the demo but until I played a different car I had a very bad feel for forza because of this Porsche

I'm not sure which settings Forza gives you to play with, but if the car is bouncing about and unsettled a lot of that can be tweaked with suspension tuning. For example adding some more fast rebound damping is the quick and dirty way to stop it bouncing about. If its unsettled through weight transfer then slow rebound damping would improve that. A better tune would tweak the compression damping too but that becomes more of a science, though slow compression damping can help mediate the weight transfer. It won't change the ultimate weight shift but it will slow it down a tad to keep the car more stable around the medium speed corners at a loss to the desired fast weight responsiveness of low speed corners. In short a lot of the reported problems with this car sound like they're simply down to suspension settings. I don't play the game so if Forza doesn't allow you to tweak those settings then its going to be far more ingrained into the car's handling, but if you can then you should almost certainly be able to iron out the flaws. That said the course is also particularly bumpy and would do far better with a track specific tune (true of most cars on the track).

Nice run, shame about the slip up at the end in to dirty time territory. You and fellow TH-camrs inspired me to make my own attempt and video, I managed a 7:38:528 dirty and a 7:40:160 clean but on a good day could reel in another 20 seconds at best, still leaving me some 33 seconds short of the World Record 0f 6:47:3. I will attack again, not given up yet.
This car definitely is a difficult car to drive. It's feels very heavy. Great power out of corners but I feel like it needs a proper tune. And for them doing a world record in real life. That's not to say that who knows if they tuned the suspension and different tire pressure? Or was the Porsche bone stock?
From the Wikipedia page: Porsche conducted test. OEM Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 'N2', OEM 'Weissach Package', OEM deletion of audio and communication system, Porsche Motorsport bucket seat and harness on driver's side.
Ive noticed a few cars that T10 got wrong. GT2, Camaro SS, etc "I own irl 1995 Z28 and 2002 SS". You did just fine, it was the devs that messed it up bro
Manufacturers have been known to swap parts when setting burger records, that could be why it feels different in game than to real life. Honda stripped interior and installed a roll cage when setting the FWD record at the burger with the new Type R.
Porsche has spent billions over the last 40+ years perfecting the backwards layout of a 911. Forzas physics engines have no idea how either lol. Every rear engine porsche in every forza drives like shit.
Michael Allen Its not the car its you the cars have much more weight on the rear tires to accelerate faster out of corners that makes it so hard if youre not used to it
I thought that was pretty damn good, if you ask me. I've never played Forza (I have a PS4 & can't afford an X as well), but you did amazingly well to stay on the black stuff. Run that race a few more times and I'm convinced you'd find yourself in the top 5, if not top 3!
This car's stock suspension settings are awful. Have a look at the suspension travel telemetry and it's really hard to believe that the real thing bottoms out over any surface imperfections.
Suspension upgrade is needed for sure because Turn10 f-ed up the stock settings. Also IRL Porsche really messed around with the down force on the car. Give it a bunch more downforce and the thing will stay planted in the corners as long as you lay off the accelerator. Do that and you'll be pulling sub 7 lap times with a little bit of practice.
I read that they set the aero in full downforce setting when they did it. And for whatever reason, you can't tune the aero on the stock GT2 RSin Forza. That would help a lot.
Finally did 7:02 with stock car and manual without clutch after 2 hours of practicing. Should be able to do sub 7 min with clutch but this car doesn't use clutch in real life so I don't want to use it in the game.
This reminds back in Gran Turismo 4 days where you had to get the EXACT same lap time that the GT-R Black set on Nurburgring... Never got that trophy... still want it though
Hey SuperGT, do Porshces in Forza 7 have the same power down understeer they had in Forza 6? Forza 6, driving any porsche meant you had to wait soooooo long to get on the power because the weight transferring to the back, accompanied with the engine in the back, felt like it would simply lift the front tires off the track and it would go straight. Does forza 7 still have the same issue?
Zack Pagan I've only driven the carerra GT and this gt2 in Forza 7 and imo it's quite the opposite with this car. It seems to have quite a bit of lift off oversteer. It doesnt have any understeering issues from my limited experience with it. If anything you just have to feather the throttle in 2nd and 3rd to avoid oversteer.
My only real summary would be that the cars feel almost the same - so the Porsches still have very strange and overdone handling. The rear engine Porsches have felt weird for a few games now.
I loved how the GT3 RS 4.0 felt in forza 6. Haven't drove in 7 but I absolutely loved the handling with a bit of tweaking. Yeah it's different but they have soooo much grip.
Why are people saying the car was “planted” in the WR video? The car was anything but planted. He rode curbs and you can see the suspension compressor at many parts of the video.
All you have to do is adjust the front anti roll bar thats what they did in real life knock it down some to 11.54, and the car will respond way better and more flatter trust me
Did you ever put a full racing upgrade package and tune the setup and try it that way? I know this was a long time ago; I'd still be curious if you ever did and to see how well you did.
I know this video is old but now I wanna try this when I get home lol Were you using the wheel with this one or controller? I don’t have the Xbox wheel hooked up rn 😂
Bought Forza 7 day one, but the moment I played GT Sport I realized the car handling was so much better I haven’t played Forza 7 since. The cars in Forza need way more grip.
Dan Becker gt6 is better than fm7 trust me I can't believe how wrong fm7 got the cars and we want more street cars like a fit or normal civics or a golf GTi or up etc etc
Porsche fans say they're brilliant, and that the 911 has 40 years of refinement behind it. I say they put the engine in the wrong place to start with, and spent the next 40 years trying to fix it!
The kind of people that think a 911 is perfect at the limit, are the kinds of people that spend time in the company of a dominatrix without a safe word.
tried online team adventure on fh4 again and i completely get why you don't like it and why you don't do live commentary. it's been decades since i was so angry at a game. i didn't even think i still had it in me. god damnit online adventures suck so freaking much. such wasted potential. gonna try fm7 when the penalties get implemented and leave forza horizon to the way i have always played it: single player or private lobbies with friends.
I am only at 5:33 when writing this, so maybe you mention this. But The Ring in Forza is NOT laser scanned, it is a very very poor representation of it tbh. Many of the curbs on the Forza version are really really high wich makes them unuseable, wich makes you loose a lot of time compared to IRL or a laser scanned circuit.
MountKeverest been about 50 laps around the Nordschleife as a passenger +countless of hours on the nordschleife with my G27 in R3E and Assetto Corsa wich has Laser Scanned versions :D
Edvin Cederqvist imagine, assetto Corsa tracks with gt6 cars and physics, racedriver grid crashes and Forza graphics man that would be a dream and maybe some iracing components really wish this was a game
Maybe try it again with a suspension upgrade, since Turn10 thinks that the GT2 RS has the suspension of a rally car.
ZephyR Tried that myself, even upgraded the tires. Hardly made a difference.

At the 38 second mark, how does the right hand wing mirror reflect the kerb on the left???? Spooky.
I have a challenge for you GT, take the Pagani Zonda R on the ring and try to tame it to beat its lap time.
Nice video bro i like real life time comparison i will be happy to see another like this. Cheers!
This car definitely is a difficult car to drive. It's feels very heavy. Great power out of corners but I feel like it needs a proper tune. And for them doing a world record in real life. That's not to say that who knows if they tuned the suspension and different tire pressure? Or was the Porsche bone stock?
Spawn and Batman Im not 100% sure but I would imagine that they changed the tyre pressures and suspension. Which is what I tried to do also.
From the Wikipedia page:
Porsche conducted test.
Michael Allen Its not the car its you the cars have much more weight on the rear tires to accelerate faster out of corners that makes it so hard if youre not used to it
Armin K nope, sorry. This is the only game where porsches drive like shit. It's forza.
ohh yeah!!! thanks for that vid!! I asked for it since the game is out!
The car is set up to be extremely stiff. The dampers are set to be comparable to their GT Cup cars.
Getting a G920 with a stick shift.
Can't wait to do a lap on this track with it.
Really enjoyed this video, great attempt
Suspension upgrade is needed for sure because Turn10 f-ed up the stock settings. Also IRL Porsche really messed around with the down force on the car. Give it a bunch more downforce and the thing will stay planted in the corners as long as you lay off the accelerator. Do that and you'll be pulling sub 7 lap times with a little bit of practice.
you should do 50 laps one of them have to be near perfect :D i believe
labo b hahaha, ive had enough of nurburgring to do another 50!!!!!
true. worth a try keep up the amazing content :)
Stiffen the suspension to stop the bounciness, maybe the roll bars too
This car has terrible lift off oversteer. Does not like to trail brake in stock form at all either
I read that they set the aero in full downforce setting when they did it. And for whatever reason, you can't tune the aero on the stock GT2 RSin Forza. That would help a lot.
Fm7 with fh5 handling would be so much better
Ew no
Cool video.. could we see more like this? Comparing the two videos side by side isn’t seen much and it looks sooo goood lol
Finally did 7:02 with stock car and manual without clutch after 2 hours of practicing. Should be able to do sub 7 min with clutch but this car doesn't use clutch in real life so I don't want to use it in the game.
The Michelin's would actually be closest to Sport tires in this game.
if not sport + tires or something cause they're really close to ''race'' tires.
I would imagine that attempting to match the real life world record on a controller would be more difficult than a wheel and pedal setup.
This reminds back in Gran Turismo 4 days where you had to get the EXACT same lap time that the GT-R Black set on Nurburgring... Never got that trophy... still want it though
This was done with a controller. I did 7:44 in Cayman GT4 Clubsport with g920 wheel and shifter first person driving. No crash. Controller sucks.
Smashed jackultragamers time. this is the difference between driving and racing
I wished people could try to go for the record in cockpit or bumper view only . That would be a marvel for sure.
I wish for a world where it doesn't matter what view someone uses in a video game.
Racing lines like this I can see how this can tune any of the cars developed on the ring
This car handles like cargo ship in the game but In horizon 4 it handles actually very nicely. Kind of annoying
I hate when Porsches decide to do wheelies and send you into a wall in Forza
Muhannad Aldajan Hahhah, they do have far too much weight transfer!!
You can do with height reduction because they run the car with one sit and no radio etc ...
All you have to do is adjust the front anti roll bar thats what they did in real life knock it down some to 11.54, and the car will respond way better and more flatter trust me
6:47.3 is a insane time well done
Are you going to find a comparable car to try to match Kamui Kobayashi's 3:14.791 at Le mans?
@Super GT Kern did it with the Manthay Racing suspension upgrades, not in a standard GT3RS.
1:25 LOL it doesn't even look easy to drive on video! its porpoising like hell!! but with skill you can kill it!
I just did this in 6:56 in a bmw M6 GT3 on GT sport as a challenge
Did you ever put a full racing upgrade package and tune the setup and try it that way? I know this was a long time ago; I'd still be curious if you ever did and to see how well you did.
I've decided I'm going to try this. I'll tune the car without limits and see what I can come up with.
Check that: sport tires max.
Hardcore with a wheel of course.
random question : what makes you use the controller for forza horizon 3 and forza 7?
Bornindafire 1. Easier 2. Faster
I know this video is old but now I wanna try this when I get home lol
Were you using the wheel with this one or controller? I don’t have the Xbox wheel hooked up rn 😂
I feel like the sport cup tires are gonna be more like the sport tire option in forza. Maybe you could try it with upgraded compound??
Many of the cars in this game doesn't even perform close to their real life counterparts. This is the biggest example.
My fastest lap speed was around 9 minutes, i used my R35 and drifted and cut corners lmao. I crashed a lot, especially near the end.
I recorded one attempt also
I feel bad you didnt get close to the record since i suggested it :( keep tryin tho!
If you listen closely you can hear it bottoming out on almost every corner
I’ve tried & tried & tried, the closest I could come was 6.51.663, passing the irl finish line in just 6.45 :/ I don’t believe it can be done.
Bought Forza 7 day one, but the moment I played GT Sport I realized the car handling was so much better I haven’t played Forza 7 since. The cars in Forza need way more grip.
Because muh feelings said so.
SlyNine ?
Dan Becker gt6 is better than fm7 trust me I can't believe how wrong fm7 got the cars and we want more street cars like a fit or normal civics or a golf GTi or up etc etc
What’s your controller set up? You got a wheel? What assists are on aside from the line?
You should try with Sport or Race tyres cause they use semi slicks at the Nurburgring
Anyone planning on using this car put the rear downforce value to 500-510 on a custom spoiler.
How can you master the braking point without the suggestion line? It's the only assist that I can't turn off.
Porsche fans say they're brilliant, and that the 911 has 40 years of refinement behind it.
I say they put the engine in the wrong place to start with, and spent the next 40 years trying to fix it!
Private Custard lol
Private Custard not true because if you look how perfect the cars are
The kind of people that think a 911 is perfect at the limit, are the kinds of people that spend time in the company of a dominatrix without a safe word.
Loooooool!!!
Private Custard Porsche holds the 2nd place spot currently at the Nurburgring.
Great idea for a video. Thought you might try a third lap
If Forza focused on making their drive cars as realistic as they look that would be awesome..
Need to get Rossi on this task!
You made the 991 gt2 rs touring package
New record now super gt! 6:40.3 minutes in the GT2 RS MR! What about another attempt? 👌🙌
I have never played Forza but it looks like getting lines wrong and driving over curbs is very forgiving.
Every mid engine car in Forza is super weird cuz of all of the weight in the back.
Does it really spit fireballs from the exhaust in real life? That's what I wanna know...
tried online team adventure on fh4 again and i completely get why you don't like it and why you don't do live commentary. it's been decades since i was so angry at a game. i didn't even think i still had it in me. god damnit online adventures suck so freaking much. such wasted potential. gonna try fm7 when the penalties get implemented and leave forza horizon to the way i have always played it: single player or private lobbies with friends.
what sort of wheel settings are you using? I can't figure out the right balance to give me any sort of confidence in this game.
Edvin Cederqvist source?
MountKeverest been about 50 laps around the Nordschleife as a passenger +countless of hours on the nordschleife with my G27 in R3E and Assetto Corsa wich has Laser Scanned versions :D
So anecdote.
Edvin Cederqvist imagine, assetto Corsa tracks with gt6 cars and physics, racedriver grid crashes and Forza graphics man that would be a dream and maybe some iracing components really wish this was a game
MountKeverest The ring in Forza is completely wrong. Come to Germany and drive around it. You notice.
