This a terrific army showcase . I have enjoyed the progress of your Union army , following updates of each regiment in the videos you have posted over the months . Seeing them all together is awesome . Very inspiring .
Beautiful looking miniatures. I love how they all look together. As someone new to historical miniatures, besides enjoying seeing your miniatures I also am excited to learn about companies that I had not heard of before (Redoubt, Flags of War and Dixon).
Stunning as ever Fraser. ACW is probably the only mainstream period I’ve not done. I’m not really a wargamer, but love to paint and collect. Seeing these I’m going to have to summon up all my willpower to not succumb.
Great Job! I loved the general waving his hat and yelling at the men in front of him on the stand. I think you have captured perfectly in that vignette the idea its a corner of a regiment in front of him.
Looking phenomenal VK. At the start I thought "wow thats a lot of lovely painted figures" then you panned the camera and there were more...and more! Top work as usual my friend.
Fantastic collection mate, beautiful brushwork and basing. There is something about ACW miniatures and the period that really in my opinion capture the grit of that war. Top job 👍😁
Grazer, it goes beyond saying that you are an inspiration to most of us and I enjoy watching your work progress. I look more forward to your episode than season nine of games of thrones 😉
Really beautifully painted. Love to see a massed army, were also all individuals are excellently painted. I think your last line of Zouaves are Perry plastics.
Wow! Amazing work there mate. Is there any better feeling then lining up your troops on the table all at once & seeing them in all their glory!?! Take care mate!
Wow. Fantastic work! Sit back and put the Vonkettle on. I'm really looking forward to seeing your next project - I've been watching in awe since your Jomsviking videos.
Ohh that army looks very impressive indeed. Looks like you have put a lot of work into painting those mini's .. Loved seeing them and watching the video : )
Looks awesome - I can see I need to do a lot more for my brigades. Which regiments did you go for in the different Brigades - beside the Irish and the Iron Brigade?
Wow! This is really bar raisingly well done! That’s dedication to a project! Real mass wargaming at its best. I have to say, the Zouaves steal the show for me.
Oh these are fantastic! Could you provide a link for redoubt and First Corps? I'd be interested in checking them out. As for the question of Hardee hats, it depends on what period in the war you're modeling. A lot of units that were issued this kind of uniform, by mid to late war, were no longer using Hardee hats and some of the other more dressy elements of the uniforms. The Hardee hats in particular were sometimes swapped for Forage Caps. Not sure if this was the case with the Iron Bde but I know thats how it went for similarly uniformed units.
Having watched you working your way through these units it's a real treat to see them all laid out in all their glory. I hope you are going to add some cavalry, and are you considering building some Confederate opposition? The Rebs you painted as commissions a while back were really nice. Those light blue zouaves (146th New York) are Perry plastics btw. Beautifully presented collection.
They seem to be pretty low profile nowadays, I know they are not everybody's cup of tea but they are full of character. Will certainly be getting some more👍
A very nice Collection. Well done! :-) If you choose to do one more Brigade you can match my Confederates - McLaws Division, 1st Corps Dec, 1862 (Steve Barber Miniatures)
Magnificent collection! Interesting that the Redoubt don't look out of place with the others, as I had the impression they were pretty chunky. Have you tried any of the Steve Barber miniatures for ACW as yet?
Not as yet Sarge. Interested in their Westphalian range but I've heard they are smaller than most, I may be wrong. Will certainly be getting more from Dixon, unusual looking!
If remember correctly the battery b the 4th US artillery used kepis that is the battery with the iron brigade however the iron brigade volunteered guys for the guns a lot so having them wear Hardee hats isn't inaccurate.
Frazer they look great, interesting how you have mixed up not only the manufacturers but also the materials. Your going to need a big table to field this force. What are you using for your overall commander?
Beautiful Army Mate. Im not familiar with ACW Nuances; i thought those 36 fig units were Battalions not Regiments? Is this the way you Organize your Napoleonics too?
Thanks for the kind comments Stewart. There is a reason the ACW units are regiments and my Napoleonics are battalions but for the life of me I can't remember! Probably scaling up units at 1:20 , hmm...🤔
Where are your flags from? Last regiment of Zoaves are from Perry. Would like to know how you get so many figures on one base and still manage to do the bases.
Hey! New to your channel. I love your work, specially on the ACW stuff. You have inspired me to finish my own ACW hobby project. I really like the look of your greatcoats mix in with the rest. What company/website would you recommend for union greatcoats that would fits with a core army of ACW perry miniatures plastic?
i guess Im asking the wrong place but does someone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
@Graham Forrest I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Never ceases to amaze how quickly you manage to knock out an army without compromising on the paint job. These look great, particularly en masse.
Thanks Mate

Thanks John, enjoyed it👍

Thanks for the kind comments. Have recently posted a more updated vid concerning the growth of the army👍
Qué maravilla !!!!

Stunning as ever Fraser. ACW is probably the only mainstream period I’ve not done. I’m not really a wargamer, but love to paint and collect. Seeing these I’m going to have to summon up all my willpower to not succumb.
Just a couple of figures John 😀
The joy and contentment of the completion of such wonderful work must be almost indescribable. Joyful to see.
Thanks for the comments, been adding to the collection recently 👍
Great Job! I loved the general waving his hat and yelling at the men in front of him on the stand. I think you have captured perfectly in that vignette the idea its a corner of a regiment in front of him.

Thanks Lee 👍
I love your army showcases. Fantastic quality and output.
Thanks Chris
Very very nice. I love the Dixon's Zouaves and Chasseurs. The Perry Zouaves with the lighter blue coats look like the 146th New York.
They certainly are Paul, thanks for the comments 👍9
Fantastic work. Absolutely stunning.
Many thanks
Superb VK, you've done it again! Funnily enough this is my next project, albeit in Perry plastics.
Perry plastics are very nice, good way to build up big armies! ☺

146th, of course! Thanks Tim 👍
Really great work an amazing looking army.
Thanks Mate ☺
Lovely job Fraser. Always great to see the force on mass! I agree it’s odd Dixon has gone out of fashion, they were the dog’s years ago
Something about their dwarfish appearance appeals! ☺
They are Superb Frazer each brigade looks really dynamic
Thanks again Sean, enjoyed collecting them. One more brigade methinks and some cavalry.
Fantastic work mate. Also got a bit of a soft spot for Dixons.
They seem to be pretty low profile nowadays, I know they are not everybody's cup of tea but they are full of character. Will certainly be getting some more👍
Wonderful collection mate 👍

Brilliant Fraser. Good call on keeping all the brigades the same, I'll copy that idea if i ever get around to painting more ACW. Rebs next then? lol

If you choose to do one more Brigade you can match my Confederates - McLaws Division, 1st Corps Dec, 1862 (Steve Barber Miniatures)

Super collection and a particularly interesting mix from different manufacturers. Do you intend to add some cavalry?
Will do sometime in the future 👍
Magnificent collection! Interesting that the Redoubt don't look out of place with the others, as I had the impression they were pretty chunky. Have you tried any of the Steve Barber miniatures for ACW as yet?

I thought that was the case regarding headwear, hardee hats were a guilty pleasure!
Super job Frazer.
Thanks Michael
Thanks Michael ☺
Frazer they look great, interesting how you have mixed up not only the manufacturers but also the materials. Your going to need a big table to field this force. What are you using for your overall commander?
Ah, have 2 mounted figures awaiting 🙂
Outstanding!
Thanks Mate
Amazing collection, just epic! Thank you for the inspiration.
Will you paint the CSA too?
Maybe one day Nic. Collected twice in different scales and sold off both don't think I can do it again at the moment!.🤪
Fantastic!
Thanks Frank ☺
Great stuff Frazer. What’s next? 😉😂
Back to 15mm for a while Jim, bit of 28mm ww2 to clear the backlog ☺
Really nice army
Crikey, you have more than me! Better paint job too. Have you done the Rebs?
Thanks for the comments. Painted rebs twice in 2 different scales, both sold off some time ago. Don't think I could face it again!
Beautiful troops
Thank you for your kind comment, the force sadly underused!
Fantastic work on the Union army, those will make for a very interesting game. What rules system are you going to use for the miniatures
Hi Rusty. All organised for Black powder 👍
What a proper looking army
Thanks Mate
Great looking army! That must be close to 500 models?
Must admit I haven't counted them!
Flags are mainly from Flags of War, highly recommended. Will do a vid concerning the basing as I'm often asked 👍

I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
@Terrell Kristopher Instablaster =)
@Graham Forrest I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Graham Forrest It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much, you really help me out!
@Terrell Kristopher You are welcome :D
How should I approach painting the cannons?
So inspiring 😁👍😎❤️
Thanks Steve 🙂
What colors did you use for the guns (barrels, metal, etc.)?
Black base and dry brushed with a mix of gunmetal and black then a black wash, for rifled barrels. Vallejo brass for smoothbores.
The brigades on parade look great.
Many thanks ☺
What size bases are you mounting your skirmishers on?
60x 30 I think!🙂
