hm. yeah watching your parkour section makes me drift closer to "pass" on this one. The trailers already gave the insanely magnetized vibe, and this basically showcased it pretty well. The biggest immersion/gameplay breaking thing with parkour in AC games, always has been when the magnetisation becomes really obvious. Syndicate, Mirage. There has always been magnetisation that was hard to hide, like in unity, but overall it was never visible ALL the time. Parkou should not be on rails and moving you around mid air to correct for your slightly wrong jump.
I asked the Ghost of Tsushima question on twt and I realise it was pretty badly phrased. So what I meant was, when I play Ghost of Tsushima and I face any kind of battle (on the hardest difficulty) where I can choose my approach, I mostly decide what playstyle I want by sheer "feel". Like what do I want rn. And I definitely see the advantage like I just said I can do what I want whenever I want but that also means I never truly have to do stealth out of necessity (like I said excluding missions). So my question is, if you wanted to, could you do any "outpost" as either the samurai or the shinobi and if yes what is the difference in the difficulty? Did you feel like switching to the samurai at one point cause you feel like the stealth opportunities were ass in a given location? Did you switch to the shinobi cause you thought there was no way fighting all those people head on? Was one character straight up better than the other? You said you enjoyed the shinobi more but what if you wanted to tryhard? And most important of all, I would REALLY dislike if they balanced it in a way that makes you able to finish everything with head on combat with the shinobi. Maybe that's a hot take but at least in the highest difficulty it should be borderline impossible to do that with the shinobi I feel like. Thanks for talking about GoT and generally being honest (I hope). You really did an amazing job with your style and persona. I love hearing your takes and they always feel genuine. So yeah, keep it up!
Nah hard pass, stolen assets, splitting playstyles betwen two charaters, obvious pandering with both protagonist, not implementing unity movement, and the being talked down to by french people that clearly have no knowledge of japanese history. Ya im just gonna play ghost of Tsunami, till the second one comes out as thats a better assassin creed game then what ever crap this is
Hell no. -> Story and characters are likely to be complete ass based on everything since FC5. It's like they got so good at writing villains they're incapable of making a likeable character. -> Graphics look pretty dated now (other than different assets its been the same since Origins) -> Microtransactions are likely to be even more aggressive given where Ubisoft is right now -> Cutting content and cosmetics to sell deluxe editions. -> From what I've seen there's nothing new or different being added to the franchise, which says to me that Ubisoft is once again just shovelling out the same stuff. -> Ghost of Tsushima exists I could be completely wrong and once its released all the above could be null and void (apart from Ghost of Tsushima existing) but till there is full reviews out on this I'm not touching this one till it's 80% off.
A: it's probably the same idiots whole also brought the last 3 pseudo RPG games B: they are literally room temperature iq teens who buy anything with a "cool" asian culture aesthetic.
Because people have different tastes. I personally really like dumb brute fun combat games/fun little sneaky stealth games. I also wonder how people like spending hours mining in minecraft
They could have so easily change yasuke, a samurai who has honor and doesn't inspire assassin, to a random ronin. It solves all issues. Firstly, it's random guy and not a historical figure, something that is the core of the franchise (playing as an assassin no one knows to bring down a shadow organization), secondly, ronins have no allegiance to the shogun, so they do not have honor, so no problem using every trick in the book to kill their opponent aka what assassins do and they could still keep the samurai gameplay but introduce more variety . And, lastly, they were mostly mercenaries so it wouldn't be out of place for a ronin to do asssassin work (Possible scenario, Naoe hires the ronin character and the plot happens)
I am excited to play as Yasuke specifically. I think what would have been best was a third option, of a Japanese guy who is also a samurai, but more focused on agility and speed. It would have dealt with some of the culture war backlash that is plaguing our industry.
Here’s my problem with it. I was the one asking if it was going to biased. I liked your video enough and it seems they backtracked A LOT but it has SweetBaby crap in it and I don’t think I want them to have any money on it. Aside from that, once it’s on sale I’ll buy it but definitely not new.
Playstation canceled my Preorder, and I won't be pre-ordering again. I am excited for this game, but I can't help but hate the idea of Yasuke being playable at all. Not a fan of playing as an actual historical figure. Unless this game is as good to me as Ghost of Tsushima was, this may be the last Assassin's Creed I buy, excluding a Black Flag remake. Thanks for the video.
@MovieKiller333 Correct, but I haven't cared as much about a single character from AC or enjoyed a world in this franchise as much as I did Ghost of Tsushima, at least not since Edward Kenway. I'll openly admit that I called GoT an AC clone for 2 years until I played through it, though.
I gotta hand it to Ubisoft, their games used to be a good decade behind the times. This one looks like it's only 5 years behind. Unfortunately, these 5 years I'm talking about are behind an industry that I already consider itself to be a decade behind where it should be right now.
Is it bad I only started to get more interested in this game after seeing people needlessly dunk on it? I thought it looked inoffensive at first, but now I'm considering getting the game.
I'll be honest I was probably going to pick up this game I love the AC games and like giving each of them at least a try but hearing a creator who’s opinions I respect talk so thoroughly about this game makes me excited. And yes I I know it's sponsored so it’ll inherently be positive I'm not niece.
Quick answer? Nope. With how much dumb stuff Ubisoft has done over the last year. I don't think much of anything will be able to change my mind. Even more so after doing some very offensive advertising in japan...at least try to make sure certain dates don't align with tragic world events. Along with some stuff coming out from ubisoft staff. Though seeing the gameplay. I am glad this came out. As If ubisoft did somehow convince me. I think I would have regretted it upon playing it lol as combat while "fluid" has zero impact. The parkour looks fine but I can see issues with it that's a bit hard to describe? But it looks closer to valhalla compared to mirage in terms of weird stops between movements. But it at least looks ok
Haven’t bought an AC game since AC3. I’ve played the free ones given via PlayStation Origins, and Odyssey, and neither excited me in the same way 2,Brotherhood, and 3 did. This looks like a PS3 Game with next gen lighting and shaders. I’m not interested in playing Yasuke and wish he was a random Japanese citizen. The pandering is lazy, the dialogue looks lazy, the gameplay itself looks unpolished. I’ll grab it when it’s free on PlayStation but I have no interest in this one. Ubisoft continues to let me down.

I know you as a player who actually played the game say it doesn’t feel like a GOT copycat but everything I’ve seen from the game so far seems like a close copycat.
Ghost of tsushima exists
Nah hard pass, stolen assets, splitting playstyles betwen two charaters, obvious pandering with both protagonist, not implementing unity movement, and the being talked down to by french people that clearly have no knowledge of japanese history. Ya im just gonna play ghost of Tsunami, till the second one comes out as thats a better assassin creed game then what ever crap this is
It's Ghost of Tsushima. Tsunami is a natural disaster. Stolen assets from what exactly?
@ghastlyanarchy1720 also English auto correct isn't a fan of Tsushima. Wants it to be tsunami
@98Timothy that's fair lol.
5 years of development and the same engine as Valhalla.
The game is gonna flop.
Virtually every decision they made with regard to the main characters was bad imo
Yes
Hell no.
-> Story and characters are likely to be complete ass based on everything since FC5. It's like they got so good at writing villains they're incapable of making a likeable character.
-> Graphics look pretty dated now (other than different assets its been the same since Origins)
-> Microtransactions are likely to be even more aggressive given where Ubisoft is right now
-> Cutting content and cosmetics to sell deluxe editions.
-> From what I've seen there's nothing new or different being added to the franchise, which says to me that Ubisoft is once again just shovelling out the same stuff.
-> Ghost of Tsushima exists
I could be completely wrong and once its released all the above could be null and void (apart from Ghost of Tsushima existing) but till there is full reviews out on this I'm not touching this one till it's 80% off.
Ac odyssey updated the game 6 months after release to make getting resources and xp harder to try to get people to buy xp boostwes
Why anyone would waste their time playing modern ubishit games is beyond me
Everyone's got their whims and fancies man
A: it's probably the same idiots whole also brought the last 3 pseudo RPG games
B: they are literally room temperature iq teens who buy anything with a "cool" asian culture aesthetic.
Because people have different tastes. I personally really like dumb brute fun combat games/fun little sneaky stealth games. I also wonder how people like spending hours mining in minecraft
It's hard for a low IQ person such as yourself to comprehend anything
Bro is not fucking with the whimsy
So you think stealth is killing everyone without being noticed. I see.
Can't wait Hopefully not boring like Valhalla
@Veritas-66 my complaint about yasuke is him being a historical figure, something that contradicts the whole franchise aesthetic
GoT literally plays like an assassin's creed game lmao
@MovieKiller333 Correct, but I haven't cared as much about a single character from AC or enjoyed a world in this franchise as much as I did Ghost of Tsushima, at least not since Edward Kenway. I'll openly admit that I called GoT an AC clone for 2 years until I played through it, though.
20 seconds in... my prediction
:"I was fortunate enough to play assasins creed early...."
Me : let me guess, you loved it..
It's kinda hard to blend in as a big black guy IN JAPAN!!! So I get the play style bias. also the backflip to Spiderman pose was HARD 6:03.
For me, a game made by Ubisoft is as good as their business model. Which is to say, not good at all.
I still think the parkour looks trash. Why can’t they just replicate Unity ffs. They perfected parkour already, just do it again!
this looks so clunky
I gotta hand it to Ubisoft, their games used to be a good decade behind the times.
This one looks like it's only 5 years behind.
Unfortunately, these 5 years I'm talking about are behind an industry that I already consider itself to be a decade behind where it should be right now.
Is it bad I only started to get more interested in this game after seeing people needlessly dunk on it? I thought it looked inoffensive at first, but now I'm considering getting the game.
You want to see a good AC again - you skip this one. Simple as that.
Yeah...his mouth was full of ubi$oft money
The first question you should've asked them was why is there a need for a made up black guy
I don’t think he’s made up. But I agree if you set a game in Japan, I wanna play as a Japanese person.
@@Nockblock he was a slave, he was never a samurai. It was made up a white liberal man pandering to the blacks. You can Google this, it's proven to be made up
@@Nockblockno he's a made up story by a white liberal man just pandering. Google it. It's quite pathetic
You're stupid 😂. Yasuke was a real dude.
@@Nockblock you have Naoe
yeaaaaaaah japan without a samurai yeaaaaaaah
its bad
all the lies of lockley about Yasuke and the performative virtue signal to make him a main lead is so telling, there is no story with him its literally all a lie by one person, not a hyperbole
don't award agenda pushing games with sales, let it rot, buying it won't improve AC
What lies? Literally everything I've looked up says he's real and was a samurai
@@cptilliterate5104 Lies spread by grifters 🤷♂ There's two japanese historians who believe Yasuke was a samurai but I think westerners have a warped view of what a Samurai was back then and what the title meant in the sengoku period.
AC Shadows obviously is the romanticised version of Samurai's but this is a series with Magic and a painter creating weapons of mass desctruction.😭
Naoe/Yasuke look dope but the voice acting sucks imo.
@dr_diddy but there's still multiple sources that says he was? I've yet to see a reputable source to say he wasn't
This looks awful dude. Like its just yet another assasins creed game. It looks janky and sterile.
I cant tell if your taste in games is just straight up awful, or if you're being paid for this review.
You didn't just realise today people have their own opinions, did you?
@Veritas-66 and his opinion is awful, as i said. Wtf is the point of your comment?
Looks LAME!!!!
A blck samurai.....
I hear what you're saying and, let's be honest, I don't believe much of what you're saying. It's Ubisoft so even if the game is great I wouldn't buy it. They don't deserve it. The game won't be good tho. Trust me.
Wtf did ubisoft do? Lmao
That's just, like, his opinion, man.
Who else is bored of Assasins Creed as a series?
Not me
I just hate the grind.
I know you as a player who actually played the game say it doesn’t feel like a GOT copycat but everything I’ve seen from the game so far seems like a close copycat. It shouldn’t even have taken GOT for them to release a game in Japan much less focus less on bounty hunting warrior characters - you’re not nuts. They would have already set themselves apart by avoiding a Samurai character altogether.
