I can't even comprehend the nerve of people to choose to move next to an established amusement park and then complain that the rides that have been operating long before their house was built is causing too much noise. Like, that's your problem for not taking that into consideration before choosing to move in there. That's like the people near Disneyland that complain about fireworks, like Disney was there before any of those homes were even conceived.
People who can't stand the noise generated by the coasters need to move away! The park has been there since 1971. A lot of the buildings and houses that now surround the park weren't even there as far as the mid 90s when I started going to the park. You should know the risks of buying property near a theme park.
We don't count rides higher above ground because of their location, right? Like, rides on the Stratosphere (such as Big Shot) sit over 1000 ft. tall, for example.
Superman the Ride at SFNE is 208 feet. That's also an Intamin but it seems a bit more of a fit if the idea is that there is some kind of deliberate foreshadowing going on. I still don't know what it would mean. Their drop tower Scream is an S&S and the height is 205 which is close but it would still be weird if that was the intended answer and they mistakenly listed the height of the hypercoaster in the park instead of their own creation.
Did you know, Tatsu has a sister coaster that was never built. It was to be themed after a white tiger, There was even a model of it in the gift shop Flags, Located near Guest Relations.
Superman: Escape From Krypton is one of my favourite coasters in the park. They CANNOT close it down! The ride is so ICONIC. It's is worth refurbishing. Personally, I've been riding it since I was a young boy, when it was still Superman: The Escape. It's one of the very first rides I was brave enough to try and helped me conquer my fear of coasters. It would tear me to pieces if I could never ride it again! Everything, the ride, the Fortress of Solitude station, the John Williams score playing in the speakers brings back so many great memories. I've also come to love riding Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom, another reason which makes saving this attraction worth it. SAVE SUPERMAN AND LUTHOR!
Superman Escape from Krypton opened second and shared the title of tallest and fastest coaster built at the time... But the Tower of Terror at Dreamworld Australia opened theirs first and therefore it was actually the first to reach the 100 MPH mark. Your park seems to have the same issues Dreamworld had with the TOT. Tower of Terror closed in 2019 and all spare parts were actually send to Magic Mountain. The Tower which housed the TOT also houses 2 free fall rides called the Giant Drop. Dreamworld removed the track of the Tower of Terror leaving the Giant Drop as is. Perhaps this is more likely?
I was going to say the same thing. I would assume that SFMM would simply remove the roller coaster aspect and still utilize the tower for the drop ride. HECK, they could even take the approach from the Stratosphere and incorporate a zipline upcharge or free fall attraction where people can jump off the side of the tower that used to be the roller coaster.
Waiting to hear the fate of Montezooma's Revenge. I'm at the park today and one of the tarps on the tower has been blown away. It looks like there's been no work done on the track or tower underneath.
it could work but the difference is that superman’s tower isnt a giant pole so they couldn’t take out the curved part out or the ride wouldn’t be structurally stable
Make it an out and back LSM double launch Hyper Boomerang with new track either side on the launch and spike section and add a giant boomerang element beyond the other side so you launch up, back through the station, through a boomerang, second launch up the spike and backwards round again.
I don’t keep up with the theme park grape vine as much as I used to but I was just thinking about what’s going to happen to Superman I didn’t even know it’s been closed
I think the S&S post was a purposeful "leak" to drum up some buzz, but if I'm wrong I still hope someone takes on the refurb and brings this ride back to life.
I double checked there is no S&S coaster with that stat. Steel curtain has a 205 ft drop but it’s not vertical, and there’s an S&S coaster in China with a 60 m top hat (no photo and that’s still short of 208 ft). That’s as close as I could find to match the trivia. So unless their trivia was supposed to be a drop tower it makes no sense at all.
I think if they are going to close and remove Superman, they are going to do it while they start construction of the new ride…. Otherwise, like you said, there is no real access to the track along the top of the hill…. Either way, removal will be a nightmare. Thank for the video man!
The fact that people in a newly built adjacent neighborhood complain about noise is irrelevant. Did you not see the 200+ foot tall tower when you chose your home?
Definitely not on purpose.... That tower is WAY taller than 208 feet tall... You tower way over Goliath on Lex Luthor, which is taller than 208 feet tall. Also, had a great conversation with a park supervisor and he told me that 2026 is going to be a Vekoma 🤔🤔
@@trueformoblivion8557 I would love to see something like that too!! Or even better, a launched flyer, but with it being next to Tatsu, I doubt that would happen sadly. I also think with how it's next to the family portion of the park, there's a very good chance it's a Vekoma Switchback coaster like what just opened in Australia
@ a vekoma switchback would definitely be possible under that “family thrill” genre but I’m hoping with the epic thrills tag we get something a little bit more intense hopefully with some solid airtime as that’s the only slight gap magic mountain could use more of besides twisted collosus
@@trueformoblivion8557 I agree they desperately need a solid airtime machine, especially one that doesn't invert. Honestly for their next big thrill coaster, I'd love to see a B&M Hyper like Mako or Diamondback, or even better yet, something like those that's scaled up to the size of a hyper. It wouldn't have the issue of Orion, Leviathan, or Fury where it's already in the park with a B&M Hyper, so it feels somewhat similar (Fury a bit less so than the others) But if we are going more realistic, I'd love even something like Lightning Run at Kentucky Kingdom! That thing has some serious airtime for being a "family thrill" coaster
Can I just say that this ride is actually amazing? I love the sound it makes, I love the location in the park, I love the ride experience (for the most part), and I think it is the coolest looking ride at the park! I really hope it sticks around, we need some good news after the awful closure of Ka and problems with Top Thrill 2
I had a conversation with an employee about a month ago. They said that there was a fire on Superman that closed it last time. The repairs are too expensive to invest in. Superman will never reopen. Both Superman and Lex Luther would be torn down.
My guess is that Superman will have its launch portion removed and the tower itself will stay so that way Lex can keep going. Then they can replace the station and plaza with either a new restaurant, flat ride, or even a new coaster (MACK X-Treme Spinning Tower Coaster anyone?)
When is a real amusement park going to happen in Utah...... Lagoon is terrible. Im use to the caliber of Magic Mountain and Lagoon is a kiddy world in comparison
I'll have whatever crazy thing you're having 😂😂😂 But it would be way after Arizona gets a real amusement park.... Considering that Arizona has over DOUBLE the population of Utah, and less than half of the number of coasters, and only 1 of them is taller than 30 feet off the ground
Lagoon has a few coasters but the majority of the park is heavy on family friendly everything or kids. Only a handful of things to do for adults that are worthy of a credit on top of the expensive price of a day ticket.
I can't even comprehend the nerve of people to choose to move next to an established amusement park and then complain that the rides that have been operating long before their house was built is causing too much noise. Yeah. Screw them. You KNOW what you’re getting into when you move next to a theme park.
@Cheezbat like do people move next to an airport and complain to the city about the noise and traffic?
Are causing too much noise*
Sadly it's the reason California lost so many of it's small airports. It's time to bring back buyer/renter beware. Park/Airports were there first.
Hit the nail on the head with that. Was a mistake to begin with building those stupid houses there. Now those idiots wanna complain??? GTFO
I will never understand people that move next to a park or an airport and then complain about noise.
Or a car Racetrack (Laguna Seca)
@ it’s so idiotic.
Racetracks too.

Agreed
The reason it's been down was a small fire fried some of lsm and a few other components.
No it’s actually cause of the solar panels and the ride needs to get configured to it
Fun fact: lex Luther is the tallest amusement ride in the world (operating)
It’s the tallest drop ride.. not the tallest overall
@@KFab392nope, tallest overall

It is likely the world's first Backwards Air Launch coaster, and hopefully, going around the park would be super cool.
Did you know, Tatsu has a sister coaster that was never built. It was to be themed after a white tiger, There was even a model of it in the gift shop Flags, Located near Guest Relations.
I'm quite sure I read very recently that the Sky Tower will be refurbished and reopened. Superman: Escape From Krypton and Viper should do the same.

I don't think superman will reopen, it's too expensive to keep open. They will probably just keep it SBNO, that way lex luthor won't close
There's a rumour going around that S&S could possibly rework the ride.
@@TheBlueBunnyKenhahaha it’s reopening summer or spring 😂

Maybe S&S is going to get Superman back up and going and build a new roller coaster there 😮
Waiting to hear the fate of Montezooma's Revenge.
I'm at the park today and one of the tarps on the tower has been blown away. It looks like there's been no work done on the track or tower underneath.
S&S also provides parts for Viper and Ninja. But I do think they are doing something with Superman as well.
How many ft is the track “after the curve” that brings the train “vertical”?? Maybe they’re just honest and only “really” count the vertical track……
They'll most likely scrap it and keep the drop tower just like Dreamworld did with Tower of Terror
it could work but the difference is that superman’s tower isnt a giant pole so they couldn’t take out the curved part out or the ride wouldn’t be structurally stable

Just like The Flash: Vertical Velocity at Six Flags Great Adventure does!
I don’t keep up with the theme park grape vine as much as I used to but I was just thinking about what’s going to happen to Superman I didn’t even know it’s been closed
Berserker closing?! Liked that ride and it's the last of its kind ride in north America

S&S could redo Superman and also put an Axis coaster near the Golden bear Theater site.
Hell no
Vacoma has already announced that they are building the coaster at the theater location.
@@DavidWood-is9bu well now we know vekoma suspended thrill glider im so bummed
actually tower of terror in australia was the first to reach 100 mp/h 😁
That ride is so loud
There were three strata coasters in the beginning. Pretty soon, there will be zero.
I thought they moved there to get quicker access to the park
I think if they are going to close and remove Superman, they are going to do it while they start construction of the new ride…. Otherwise, like you said, there is no real access to the track along the top of the hill…. Either way, removal will be a nightmare. Thank for the video man!
It’s just too expensive to continue to operate and doesn’t move enough riders per hour. They say refurbishment but I doubt it will ever re-open.
S&S still provides parts to SFMM for their arrow rides. Hence their relationship. My vote is they didn’t vet the questions before they posted. 😂
Spring 2025 watch it open parts for it under scream and sas is fixing the trains for it already
The fact that people in a newly built adjacent neighborhood complain about noise is irrelevant. Did you not see the 200+ foot tall tower when you chose your home?
What up Drew
The questions are Chat GPT, found minutes ago by someone.
Which S&S coaster, located at six flags magic mountain, holds the record for the worlds tallest vertical launch coaster? Type that into ChatGPT.
Kingda Ka was 456 feet
Yeah, I mixed up the speed and height on accident.
Definitely not on purpose.... That tower is WAY taller than 208 feet tall... You tower way over Goliath on Lex Luthor, which is taller than 208 feet tall.

That's not the current Superman escape. The most recent configuration has the other ride attached to the Tower
