I swear that's the same guy from KoF '94 & ReBout. Am I imagining things? Someone really should've told whoever it was just how fast those round intros were paced, haha.
The Xbox version has several differences from the Neo Geo version. (Not sure about the PS2 version, though) Different announcer Higher quality voices, sound effects, music, and graphics Characters immediately fall when KO'd instead of in slow motion
Wow! I didn’t know the announcer had a different voice in the Xbox version! This announcer sounds similar to the Neo Geo Battle Coliseum announcer which I find pretty damn awesome! To be honest, I like this voice better than the Engrish voice announcer because the Neo Geo Battle Coliseum announcer has a pretty cool and natural voice. FYI, the Neo Geo Battle Coliseum announcer was voiced by John Hulaton.
From what I've read, Nobuyuki Hiyama was the narrator voice for the Neo Geo/PS2 versions, not sure who it was for the Xbox version... it does sound like the NGBC narrator like you said, so maybe John Hulaton did the voice as well?
Rage Quitter 87 It has to be John Hulaton. It can’t be Nobuyuki Hiyama because at 21:20, his name is still there during the credits which is strange, but this is the Xbox version. So my only guess is that maybe SNK forgot to change the name and credit John Hulaton.
Personally, I hated on how you have to One Credit clear the game just to get the ending for the character you chose. The Sprite detail was top notch though.
SNK used to make you one credit stuff like the first two Samurai Shodown games, just to get a credits roll. So stuff like this isn't unusual for them at all.
Not much different from the arcade version. Hell, there isn't even an arranged soundtrack for it, just like KoF 2002. All this game really changes is that, it used the announcer from Neo Geo Battle, it changed the speech audio quality to 44100 Htz instead of 28000, and the framerate doesn't drop to shit when a K.O. happens.
No, it's not a backwards compatible game I'm afraid. This page has a full list of what works: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_backward-compatible_games_for_Xbox_One_and_Series_X#List_of_compatible_titles_from_Xbox
He can use all his super combos without needing to use the bar, and he has a lot of easy loops you can abuse. Actually, if you mash forward, X, Y and A after a Shun Goku Satsu you'll be able to repeat the movement again, and your opponent won't be able to dodge it because the move is so fast it can't be blocked or countered on wake up.
The original VA is quite understandable, and thankfully in the Japanese PS2 version, they did not change him out. I doubt the reason you said is why they changed him out for the NGBC announcer.
I really this game to come out on a modern system. Cause hooking up my giant old XBOX is a pain in the ass. Plus it doesn't look great on HD TVs. Fucking Disney.
I love the dark atmosphere in this game
Everybody was in the online lobbies, not ranked or player match.
Also IIRC they replaced the announcer with the one from Neo Geo Battle Coliseum.

The PS2 version is basically like the arcade version but with the UI of the console version
SNK needs to make an SNK vs Capcom 3.
Definitely! Most of us, including me, want Capcom VS. SNK 3 so bad. It’s just sad that Capcom VS. SNK 2 isn’t on the PS4.
Let's create a petition to snk for make a snk vs capcom 3 for ps4 ps5 Xbox series and Nintendo Switch

Also in Fatal Fury Wild Ambition
Change the settings on the Xbox to Japanese region. The original announcer will be heard instead of the neo geo battle collisum one

Playable Shin Akuma has more priorities than any other character but the damage from his attacks are reduced to match others.
"Infinite" Special Moves but with the power like an "EX Move"
This snk vs capcom is awesome for the Xbox. You play the king of fighters characters and street fighter characters.
Personally, I hated on how you have to One Credit clear the game just to get the ending for the character you chose. The Sprite detail was top notch though.

Actually. You have to defeat either Athena or Red Arremer in order to get the ending.
BATTLE, TILL YOU DROP!!!
The arcade announcer is better....
"BATTLE, TILL YOU DIE!!"

I think the frame rate drop after a K.O. in the arcade version was just for effect.
I want all the neo geo games with 44100 voices on remakes
How do you get shin akuma
He should be unlocked right when you start
You just have to press the right trigger to get Shin Akuma
I never saw the use of large combos or the "Hyakishu", "Hyakishu Gosai", and other varients of said move
*****
In spite of his nerf he is still THE BEST character in the game
Aww, no Misogi finish on Athena. =(

Why did they remove the Japanese announcer for this version?
+Aizaku Galcia (Aizaku-san) Because he spoke in Engrish not English.
+Rockman IXA again, why did they decide to remove the Japanese announcer
Aizaku Galcia I see what you're getting at, but once again, he spoke Engrish, not English. Most aren't as accepting of Engrish as you are.

I cringe at "Battle till you drop".
They ruined it with a cheesy English voice. They even replaced "die" with "drop". 😬
