Loved the ideas in this as I do play (and sometimes get stuck) in these situations, especially the tall grass. I use Calaway supersoft, but never get then to spin as I like. I'll give it another go now.

My friends son is using the chrome soft through winter.. he's only been playing a year and is 13. He's been on the course ever holiday and come down from 36 to 16! I play of 8 and never seen such a young lad spin and stop a ball the way he does! he has been a avid viewer of your channel throughout so keep up the good work and know the future is very bright.

HNY Alex - really enjoying your tips. This is something i do need to practice. With my SW I tend to do 2 things. 1 get right under it and it goes no where or 2 catch the ball with the leading edge, especially if playing from a tight hard lie with open face.

My preference for videos are :

    - short bump and runs without thining it

Be it game management or simple technical errors you see

I have been playing the Titleist NXT Tour. I seem to do okay with them. At 63 I can still drive 270 on a really good shot. Although that has somewhat to do with changing my driver to one which I can adjust loft and draw. I have tried some with an even softer cover for spin but it really killed my distance.

Irons are 6 to SW. What should I be looking in degrees with wedges (possibly with just a SB). Do I go with a 50, 54 and 58 (for 3) or perhaps a 56 and 60. I’m completely confused and after a recent discussion with my home course PGA club pro I’m even more confused. Please help. Alex, that was good info - but some help on how to get that same spin from the bad lie - taller grass, etc. From where you were striking the ball one could almost putt. I do most of my chips with a 52 or 56 and play Callaway Chrome. Thanks.

Just don't trying to do this with firm greens in the middle of summer. It won't look like that. Receptive greens are big factor in the amount of check you are going to be able to get once the ball hits the green.
