Unlocking the Mystery of Mark Making and Scripture | Art*Full Faith Devotional

- Scripture tells us we are God's "workmanship" or "masterpiece"! Every artist has a unique style, a personal signature, and distinguishing "marks" that identify their artwork as "theirs"!
Just like Van Gogh, Matisse, and Picasso, God has marked His masterpieces! In fact! God was, of course, the originator of signing His work... as well as leaving His MARK!
God's "marks" reveal themselves in the everyday lives of believers. Mark Making is a fun and very personal technique for creating and exploring Scripture.
The Bible is filled with poetry and prose... Word pictures that help us relate to deeper concepts as the Holy Spirit reveals them to us. This Art*Full Faith Devotional positions Scripture as Visual Poetry and explores Ephesians 1:13 and Galatians 5:22-23.
I'm really just getting started with this channel. And... I don't want this to be a one-sided conversation. Ya know, I'm in a space at the moment where I don't have many real-life connections. I think to some degree we all are after the 2020 travesty. Maybe if you leave a comment below we can begin sharing and offering inspiration and support for each other. Sandy Kaye, I truly believe God led me to watch this particular video today. In my devotion and prayer time this morning, He spoke to me about my creativity. I had asked Him to help me see and understand the things He wants me to know. This is part of His response to that prayer:
“… For now, continue to see the world around you that I have created - the people, nature - and do not neglect to worship Me and share what you see with others. Not only are you meant to share My love through your art, but also through your photos … I know you feel yourself “not talented enough” to share - but guess what? Your creativity speaks to the hearts and spirits of so many. Don’t deprive others of being blessed when you have the ability to do so. Your love for and appreciation of your Lord and God is evident in your creative work and others have and will continue to benefit when they see or receive it. Don’t let fear steal that from you, from them. Fill up your heart with Me, so there is no room left for fear.”

I practice Intuition Painting and feel as if I’m painting from the “Him” within me. That I’m listening and collaborating with God. It’s so relaxing and I have to trust myself and my intuition. I love it.

Instead of "intuitive" maybe it is truly this amazing intimate convo with God... Sort of like, as I've said before, plopping on the floor, coloring with "Dad". I’m so glad that your video was on my feed today! I’ve started playing with mixed media abstracts and I love mark making. So I love how you tied that together with the way God marks us and all of his creation! Beautiful artwork too!
Woohoo!!! Mixed media is the MOST FUN!!! Mark making can be kinda... umm, where do I start? 😉 Once you get a little "library" together of marks, you can pull inspiration from it to get started. Then add to it as you discover new marks that resonant with you! Thank you!!!I t's so funny to me. God shows me principles of scripture most of the time though art. As well as showing me art techniques through scripture. 😅
