I don’t listen to usual Christmas music. I listen to R&B Christmas music. Anita Baker, Vanessa Williams, Whitney Houston etc. I do love the Carpenter’s as well. I start listening as soon as it’s Thanksgiving. If someone gets offended by the Christmas music you don’t like then they need to evaluate their life. Great cards.
I have never thought of coloring a raised embossed image with alcohol markets! Your result is stunning, and I will definitely give that a try. Thank you for again teaching me something new!!
Just beautiful. You gave me the confidence to try coloring an embossed card. The non-delineation of the edges always scared me! And give me berries and Christmas ANYTIME!!!!
This technique is cool, and the cards are stunning! Fortunately I don't get exposed to holiday music at home by the hubby. We're not big fans, but I think it's sweet that your hubby gets into the spirit as soon as it snows. That being said, I do like making cards for the residents of the senior care center where my sister works as a nurse.

On 10/26/1980, the first snowfall of the year in NW Indiana my very premature 4 lb son was born. He was the first baby to come home with me 4 days after his birth. I had some sick babies. I would have killed my precious husband if he submitted me to Mariah Carrey! That homecoming was the best ever. That son is very precious to this day. Happy memories. He met the rest of his extended family close to Christmas. He had to get to 8 lbs first. Precious memories. Thanks.

I am not a fan of “modern” Christmas carols, and change radio stations or streaming channels instantly if Mariah and others come on. I grew up hearing classical Christmas carols, music composed for church. Most people like what they grew up with as a warm, foundational appreciation, but certainly one can branch out to other types of music. Beautiful cards. Love the coloring; love the embossing folders! Altenew’s products are fabulous.
Both cards are very pretty and I bet they almost jump off the page in real life. I especially love the way the leaf's look with the way you colored them. They have a lot of dimension.

Beautiful cards, Kelly! I especially love the details on the berry card. If you try the colored pencils or watercolor again, just run it through the embossing folder again after you finish. It should line up and click into place pretty easily. I’ve done it several times and never had an issue. One time I did have to tape it along one edge, but other than that, just popped it on and sent it through again. It really makes the embossed details pop again. I can’t wait to see what you do with these folders next time!
Super funny……not sure why anyone would say such a thing. Whatever just have to rise above it all - Christmas music is beautiful although after 2 months I’m pretty well done with it all…..love the video’s and newer focus on different products.
I just discovered that a popular craft store chain (the one with the letters H L), carries some Altnew stuff as well as glitter pens. They seem to be a bit more expensive than going through your links..but it's nice to know if you're in a bind and need something immediately.
I agree, TOO SOON for Christmas. I grew up with snow scenes on Christmas cards OF COURSE but we’re heading into spring right now. It’s such a different vibe! Last year I ordered Halloween supplies and they LITERALLY arrived THE DAY AFTER. The post is so unreliable and certain carriers are more reliable than others. So, yeah, I don’t even try buying something seasonal within a month of the date unless I accept that it’ll be for NEXT year, not this year.
I wonder if you leave the paper on the embossing folder while you use the coloured pencils if that would help keep the paper lifted? Beautiful cards. I absolutely love the poinsettia.

I love Rockin Around the Christmas Tree also. But like Eric, I play songs all through December!! Some bring back many memories and some tears, but I love them because it's such a special time of year. Beautiful cards Kelly. Please tell me how you manage to stop your alcohol markers from bleeding? Every time I try they spread beyond the line but it I colour before the line there is often a gap do how do you get the happy medium? I use Neenah 80lb like you. Thank you for your wonderful posts xx

I am slowly accumulating all of the sets and I enjoy them but I haven't tried copics...not sure I'll make the investment on top of what I have but wanted a professional opinion!
They are both good. I prefer Copic because of the variety of colors. However, if you've already invested in Altenew markers it may not be worth it to start all over.

You pronounced the berried cotoneaster correctly for me. ( cot tony aster!!) I like old time carols but only during Christmas week.
For mass production you could start with red card stock for the poinsettias as long as you are cutting them out anyway.

Barely touch the paper. Most bleeding is caused by either too much ink in the marker or too much pressure on the paper.
