Penny’s top 50 highlight reel is insane! He posterised every big man in the 90s. If Magic built around Shaq & Penny they would have been unstoppable.

@@LarrySwishamane Not to mention Shaq getting jealous and leaving the would be dynasty. Just to go play with a guy who didn’t wanna pass the ball. Shaq would’ve won way more rings with Penny. He just got to feeling himself and feeding into the noise too much and it got to him. Them beating the Bulls with that roster was a preview of what they could’ve been with just a couple more pcs. Hurts my soul that my guy got hurt but such is life. Penny never whined, complained, or let his fame go to his head. All time favorite player.

Penny Hardaway was one of the most exciting young players in the NBA.
When he came in, people were already calling him the "next Magic Johnson".
Unfortunately, he's just one player on a long list of stars who fell due to injuries.
Player like Penny, T-Mac, Grant Hill and Brandon Roy. Will always have you wondering what if.

Anfernee Hardaway is one of my favorite players ever! He was one of the guys I grew up watching! I remember hitting the court with my black Penny no 1 jersey of the Orlando Magic, shooting around by myself, or playing pickup games with friends or with whoever was on the court! He's definitely my favorite PG of the 90s, ahead of Stockton because of his height, athletic skills, and versatility! John Stockton is my second favorite PG of the '90s, so there's no shade there! But Penny was awesome back in the day! Damn injuries! Definitely one of the biggest what-ifs in NBA history! Thanks, dear Sean, for traveling back to my teen years and for putting a smile on my face! Love your channel, and keep up the good work!

the reason why i loved that sequence bc most players are taught half spin(pivot: if you fake right you go left and if you fake left you go right) but what Penny did was faked right and just reversed spin aka stepback to faced the bucket (created the open space) bucket.. Penny 1 of my all time fav players top 3 easily. and for the record it's not bad basketball. If that's the case every move is bad basketball ONLY if you haven't practiced it enough to have it down.

I've started watching NBA in end of 1994 season. Right away, Penny stood out to me with his flashy, high IQ plays. His passes were incredible and movement off the dribble, dunks, the whole persona... he was just perfect. He was a regular in top10 plays of the week. I think Penny came to the league at the perfect time, just as we started entering digital revolution. I'd say he's probably top 10 all time most influential players even though he played only few years before succumbing to knee injuries.

His black Orlando Magic jersey was the first one i bought back in my high school years. I still have it and wear it. Awesome player and we didn't even witness his prime. The guy was on his way of becoming a top ten player of all time. His skillset was phenomenal and no other point guard after him ( Kidd, Rose, Nash , Curry etc ) had that package .

Said before but watched Penny destroy my Billilkens when he was at Memphis. Became an immediate fan and then an Orlando guy. I mean come on Shaq and Penny? Now yes I was a Bulls fan first and had to take them when going against each other but when Jordan "retired" I went straight to the Magic. Course I had to flip back but they were always my second favorite team unless going against Jordan and the Bulls. It's Penny and Grant Hill I wish never got injured to a point it killed their careers. Two gods on the court.

Don't blame Shaq for getting paid what he was worth. Orlando should have offered him the moon. Injuries yes I agree. But don't blame the guy who took the better deal. All Orlando had to do to keep the big man was match it. They tried to undercut him and he said no. Is it really his fault? Each a d every one of us would go where we are paid the most. That's on the organization not the player.

Penny was my absolute favorite player growing up. I wanted to play just like him. Wanted the jersey’s the shoes, the cards…everything. I know it’s blasphemous to say in the basketball world but I didn’t like MJ. As a hooper I didn’t like how he never passed the ball. I saw Penny and finally had my MJ. He could do it all. And when they beat the bulls it was like a championship to me. Hate how he was added to the list of NBA greats derailed by injuries. I always love penny he started my real love of the game.❤️💯

Injuries suck. When you hear people talk about Penny that played at that level for the 4-5 years that he was like that they mention Mike, Magic, Kobe and LeBron. That should say enough. He was that damn good and this is why I don’t overvalue longevity when weighing a player’s caliber. I know what I saw and he did well enough in the time he was healthy for me to respect his pedigree. I feel the same sentiment about people like Grant Hill, and McGrady and Derrick Rose. Build their attributes on a video game. They’re all 95+ rating players.
