    Great video !
    I’ve learned my lesson about growing strawberries. They are super sensitive, and susceptible to fungal diseases.
    I’ll definitely check your other videos about your equipment !
    Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise !

      Before you go to far I stopped growing strawberries because they don't like Kansas.

    Is it best to cover my strawberries in the winter? Great video. Very helpful
    I’m in Thornville Ohio.

      We cover ours because we use an anual system and we get late frosts after blooming starts

    How long are the rows you're planting in this video? Do you use any pre-emergents or fertilizers at all? Great Video. We're in Jackson County, GA, considering planting a small strawberry patch to sell to our local rural community.

      90ft rows. We use Nature safe 8-5-5 at 200lb. Nitrogen equivelent when we plant. No pre-emergents of non NOP products are used on our farm. I'm good at planting amd harvesting the berries but still need more experience on the growimg part. Our cold winter make fertilizing and "waking up" the strawberry more difficult.

    Do you only sell at farmers markets? Or do you sell them anywhere else?
    Subscribed. Great visuals and plane instructions.

      We sell at 2-3 markets, through CSA, and onlie for delivery and pick-up.

      @@farmerkeith oh okay thanks for the info. Definitely going to be looking into CSA. I’ve been a small backyard gardener for a couple years learning the basics and am ready to expand. About to close on a house with some land and try my hand at market gardening/farming.

    How many plants do you put in the 90 ft row? How far apart do you plant the strawberries? I am planning on starting small.

    • @farmerkeith
      @farmerkeith  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      180. Double rowed 12" in row

    I thought the runners had to be left on the mother until it had a few roots?.

      They take them before for commercial cultivation. It is a process to pot them up. You can actually but tips and do it yourself
