It's so wild that Nissan, Toyota, Ford, and I'm sure others, sold 4-door pickups decades before we got them here in the states. Very cool to see a review of this truck! It seems like an alternate reality.
I’ve owned two of these through my teenage years awesome little trucks reliable as and cheap as not very powerful but later model ones had the td27 turbo which helped
Here in Mexico they were sold until 2008 I think, but they were gasoline versions. People call them "estaquitas" the official name was "Nissan Camiones" that means Nissan trucks.
I always like your reviews, you do stuff you normally don't see others do, like this truck. One thing there is no such thing as a choke on a diesel. The pull knob is just throttle increase, very common on older diesels because they take forever to warm up at idle.
I believe some of the later Datsuns/Navaras came with a 'TD27T' which as the T implies, is turbo. The TD27 itself also came speced as the TD27Ti, which was intercooled, and the TD27ETi, which is electronically controlled. Not sure where the Ti was used, but the ETi was speced in the Mistral, Pathfinder, and Terrano. Cheers from New Zealand.

Td24 you have to use the revs , They can sit at 3/3,500rpm all day m very free reving engine , they will rev up to 4k fine takes alot to damage or cause issue with them Have a 1990 datsun d21 since 1998 with 336k km , now also two others and a later 94
I drove Toyota Hilux and diesel Ford Rangers in Afghanistan. They're indestructible and were abused all the time. I'd definitely buy a small diesel pick up if I could.
also crew cabs in pickup trucks were created to avoid the chicken tax what they did was to make the cab a few inches longer and put very uncomfortable seats just to not pay taxes but then they decided to use them (but now more long and more comfortable)
It's not a choke, but a hand throttle that you can use to increase the idle while warming it up or when you need to run high power electric gadgets like winches or when jump starting other cars
I have this same truck but in the american gasoline version, sadly its pretty beat up but I’ve been working on it a bunch recently and I hope to swap the engine with a little diesel engine someday
I drive an sd22 powered, 5 speed, 2wd datsun 720 daily, it's slow slow. Like... we call it supergramps cause it's super slow. 😂 but 30+mpg and enjoyable to drive. Lots of people ask if it's really a diesel
I like the Datsun lineup. Also decently ecquipped. Japan is not much about pickups but it´s kinda like a new one not just for work. I also like these "high versions". I don´t think it´s called Datsun cuz of the USA but because higher prized vehicles were once named Nissan in Japan and smaller and lower prized cars Datsun. Btw this Datsun lineup was sold until 2002! I

The first 4 door pickups were International Harvesters but they didn't catch on until 30 years after they were gone
TD27 Engine is one of the most durable engines ever created. Has a Timing Gear. No Belt. No CHain.
All TD QD series diesel from Nissan incredible strong 😊
@@jdmcarandmotorcycleDont forget the sd engines
They were sold as the Navara here in Australia , I own a 92 D21 diesel with an 8 ft steel tray , not fast but will go all day everyday

mexico got the 4 door ranger too!
@@fernandosolano9986 Its seems in Mexico, they have a love affair with Nissan. Why is that?

Why can’t we get trucks like this?! Freakin Chicken tax 🥴
As stated on Regular Car Reviews! Lol

Have an sd25 and it's the same way! Awesome little trucks for what they are though
It doesn't say choke
because it's technically not it holds the throttle open a little unlike a choke that floods carby with fuel.
No tie downs. You miss them on the outside of the bed. Great truck review.
That's true, but the Nissan crew cab pickup from 1991 didn't seen here in America.
what a sweet little truck. in a crew cab!
I love these trucks thanks for the video 😊
3:02 I think that’s a high idle switch
Those air and heating controls look like they're straight out of 91 Civic
GOOD REVIEW & GREAT NISSAN.
In Saudi Arabia we have a lot of them, but they are not 4×4

Great video, very clean example.
What tire size used
Tbh I have a feeling that my family would have bought one of these if they were offered in the US
How much did this cost you ?
Wow Nissan is my favorite car
This truck would be perfect for me if the wheel was on the other side
Not a choke but a high ldle
How many liters does its fuel tank have?
60
So cool!
The company should've kept the name Datsun.
in Costa Rica we got em LHD *laugh in spanish*
Jajajajaja
