Thanks for this. I'm planning on spending some time there this summer and this is a nice intro. Thanks!

Brings back enjoyable memories! I was on different parts of your route twice in 2022, May (group trip) and July (solo). That Maria site was excellent.

Glad to see your video of this trip. I planning a very simalar trip but starting and ending at Nym and definitely staying at that site on Sturgeon lake. I think Sigrid Olsen would stay at that site when even he was on Sturgeon. Thanks and take care.

nice. Yeah... that rocky cliff gets a lot of sun and gives a really cool view to the S & E! If you have any specific questions about the route, feel free to reach out outdoorearthling at gmail :)

Thanks for the upload. I recently did a variation of this route and the Pickerel River Portage (990m) kicked my butt. It didn't help that it was 35 degrees that day either.

There are some loooooong protages in Quetico. I really like routes with lots of smaller lakes & short portages... more interesting scenery in my opinion... and it gives the pup lots of breaks from the canoe.
What was your favorite lake or camping spot?

When did you film this? I know the park has had some fires recently so was curious if much was recent burns on your route. Ice images.

I did this trip in September, 2023. Noticed some burns in the western part of Sturgeon Lake on the south shore if I remember right... but other than that, it was green and beautiful all the way through
