SLAM blocks...'single living accomodation modernisation'......prefabricated off-site like porta-cabins and then stuck together and a brick skin built around the whole. If you have ever lived in barrack rooms, 4 man rooms or even old school single rooms you'll know these new ones are pretty awesome by comparison...assuming the toilet works. There are communal kitchens and laundry as well....which you all pay for when some numpty smashes them up. Think they started to come in around 2007 so some maybe getting a bit battered by now but still light-years ahead of the old ones.....your own loo and shower? Gotta be a winner.
Wow 😲 this is very affordable, I pay about £150 per month for a room at uni here in South Africa and it's doesn't have most the things in the video. Thanks for the video
Aussie Army experience for me was initially the crappy 4 man cubicles, no aircon and we were in Townsville (feckin hot). Then one man rooms as we finished advanced Inf training & once they became available. It was the 80's and they were full of asbestos, no toilets or showers in them, at the end of the block. By the mid 1990's the one man rooms had no asbestos, a small dunny/shower arrangement and a bit of room to put a comfy chair & telly. In the modern era I hear the new rooms are similar to yours shown (I got out in 2002 so can't say for myself!).
Yal'reet! Where was the standard years of limescale on the shower that takes weeks to get off with many failed room inspections! Oh yea I remembered you're a senior. Living good in that pad. At least I had a working bog XD
I used to have 4 man accommodation in the 1980’s and at least the toilets were fixed quicker, perhaps no privacy but still good. That’s room didn’t look good.
Thanks for all you do Sir... Highly Appreciated Please I'm a Nigerian who already applied for the Regular Soldier Intake, 2023. I was told I have been put "on hold", as there are lots of Applications being reviewed and I would definitely be contacted. It's been over 2 Months and I would like to know the probability of being invited over to the UK for the Initial Assessment and please Sir, do you have any idea when I would most likely be called upon. Thank you for your time and consideration Sir
£40/m? That is heavily subsidised. Same size flat where I live would probably cost £500/m lmao. How long do you need to be in the army before applying for the SLA/SFA accommodation?
are you subject to room inspections whilst in housing - just off base and the single living accommodation? does everyone have sigle living or do some people have like 4 man or 2 man rooms where you share?
Thanks for the nice update. Sir am josh i submitted my online application for the amry but after a few days unfortunately they sent to the letter that was saying my application is unsuccessful since they are not taking commonwealth till further notice please can i reapply or can i keep on checking for the portal??? Please help me to understand
For £40 that's a palace. Nice work Sam 👊🏾
Cheers mate💪🏻💪🏻

It could certainly be worse
Only £40? I was expecting it to be a LOT more a month honestly
It is good value

@@rhysgallimore4203 you don’t get inspected if you in housing. You will get single living at your unit but will share in basic and phase 2
@@MilitaryFitnessthanks. So you get inspected at the single living then and just not the houses?

Unfortunately not every room is like this, a lot is multi man or single man but with communal toilets
